Sears Clearance Thread Summer 06

Status
Not open for further replies.
Update:
Almost all of the games in Novi, MI have been marked up to 9.99 or 14.99 with a generic red sticker. There are a few random clearances left though...
This is true of most Sears stores. If they happen to have anything left it's likely to be $10 or less by now. Everything else is out of the system and will likely ring up as: Video Game, and is stickered $10 or $15, just like the games at Kmart that went out of the system.

Since the previous "weird Sears clearance thread" is a bit outdated and a bit difficult to read, I decided to go ahead and make a new clearance thread to follow in the same format as the infamous Target clearance threads.

From the previous thread: http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76977
Here's a compiled list of everybody's finds so far in the thread. The price following the game title are the different reported prices.

All prices and availability is YMMV, and a lot of it seems to depend on the cashier. A lot of these games aren't in the system, and in many cases they won't sell them to you. Two options here:

A)If a game isn't in the computer when scanned, the cashier can try typing in the Stock number that is on the sticker for the game on the shelf.

B)Some people have had success bringing up another known priced game and getting both for that price.

* Also to note prices are rounded UP!!
* I just want to say how much dick the posters on fat wallet enjoy sucking, for we all know this will undoubtedly get reposted over there word-for-word, with no credit to the CAG community

** All games listed below are games that I have seen, or have seen posted recently in the previous thread, I will continue to update the list as required.

*** Please attempt to post all additions as follows:

Game - System - Price
ex: Conker - Xbox - $5

**** Prices are obviously YMMV, I have listed the lowest known price, however prices may be double or half the listed price, depending on your luck.

***** My current theory is that the games marked with a "Jun" clearance sticker are actually now 1/2 price at most stores, "Jul" clearance games may drop again in September, while the "Aug" clearance games are naturally up to date.

******Prices seem to be dropping again as we near September, the actual price in some cases my now be 40% less than the listed price.
Can someone tell me how much Karaoke Revolution 2 is ringing up for now?
I picked it up for $5. It didn't drop from last month because it seems like the trend of the games is to drop every two months.

Well, that would kind of defeat the purpose of "Clearance" wouldn't it? I suppose it's within the realm of possibility that they would get stock sent from another store or something, but I wouldn't count on it.

Thanks.
Has anyone noticed Sears restocking? Mine is out of Advance Wars, and I'd like to get another copy.
I bought the last Mario Tennis at Sears some 3 or 4 months ago and they STILL haven't restocked despite keeping the price tag and name of the title still there, so no, they definitely don't restock.
Got Trace Memory, 2x Ridge racer DS, R: Racing Evolution & Harry Potter : TCOS for $15 after $5 bucks off because of a call in survey.
Willing to sell one of those Ridge Racer DSs to me?

Ridge Racer was 4.97 when I got one a couple weeks ago and the day I went back to get a cuople more for some people that couldnt get it the store worker said that morning of the price drop someone came in and bought over 500.00 in clearance games.

Damn hoarders:bomb:

alright, who took my Metroid Prime Pinball :ds: ....damn hoarders..:bomb:
next thing you know, someone would be selling it at the flea market, marked up for $30... :bomb:

For the Sony PSP I just picked up Tiger Woods 06 for $12, Twisted Metal - Head On for $15, and Virtua Tennis World Tour for $10. I believe quite a few of the other "Greatest Hits" games were also $15 like Twisted Metal was.

Yeah, I noticed that about the Advance Wars peg. Still priced and empty. I've visited twice since I bought a copy of Advance Wars. Oh well.

A employee at the Sears I go to told me once the clearance games are gone they are gone for good.

do any bay area CAGers know if sears tanforan mall and hillsdale mall are worth checking for clearanced games? im heading down that area this afternoon

just picked up mario power tennis for $9.99 and geist for $14.99. i had no idea these games would be there...my sears didn't even have these last time i checked. i want to play mario power tennis, but seeing that it sells for $35 on ebay is a bit tempting.

tanforan. last time i was there they got :ds: & :psp: titles in the bin.
i remember seing Polarium :ds:, Feel the Magic :ds:, Death Jr. :psp:, etc.

hillsdale? nah. the bin is like half empty, nothing to check.

New Hyde Park Sears had none of the good clearance games in stock. They had zip behind the glass cases and a bin full of sucky games.

Is the Advance Wars price YMMV? I went by my local store and there were a few copies in the glass case, but no indication of a sale price (even though they had been on sale for $25 awhile ago).

Get it scanned.

I just picked up Batallion Wars for $15. Great game, great deal.

That was the only thing that was on sale though, everything else was just in the normal price ranges.

went to tanforan mall (bay area,ca) yesterday and the sears there had a bunch of the gamecube games that aftermentioned CAGers found including Starfox Assault. i was meaning to pick up SA someday when it was on clearance however when the associate scanned the game it rang up at $20! and it was in the clearance bin.
even feel the magic ds rang up at $20 when clearly there was a $9.99 tag on it. very strange!
did any other CAGers find starfox assault GC on clearance?
Which metal gear 3 is on sale. I see it listed twice. $5 for 1 and $10 for another. Is that a mistake of is snake eater $5 and subsitance $10?
Sounds like it would be Snake Eater on sale, and two stores had different prices. I haven't heard anything about Subsistence going on clearance.

Yeah it's Snake Eater on clearance. I picked it up for $4.97 last week.
ok i have a DUMB question. what is "YMMV"? sorry, havent been much of a poster here so i dont know.....
Your Mileage May Vary, meaning that this deal might not be the same at your store.

Both times I checked on Starfox its been 19.99.

Just got Paper Mario 2 for 10 dollars, Pikmin 2 for 7.47. Good deal.

I could have gotten Custom Robo for 10, but I wasn't sure if it was a good game or not. They also had Metroid Prime 2 for 7.47.

I'm a little dissapointed. I wanted to get Mario Power Tennis for the GC but I didn't see it. Does anyone know if they have other games in the back?

Crud, I was going to ask the cashier if they had Mario Tennis but I forgot. Ugh.

I might go to mine at some point and check what they've got, if they even have the clearance today, but I was wondering, as I am a 16 yr. old with a mom that doesn't like to go places, if anyone from here in San Antonio could confirm or deny the existence of said clearance.

As I was looking around at the games behind the glass, the cashier came up to me and asked what I was looking for. I told him Mario Tennis and we both looked behind the glass and didn't find it. He said he would go check in the back because they don't put all their games out in the store "because they're too lazy." I was very suprised at this cuz I've gone to Sear's about 30 times and always assumed they never had games in the back. He goes in back but comes out empty-handed...At least this means there's a chance so you might want to ask your cashier to check in back for you :)

I picked up 4, Zelda Four Swords Adventures for GameCube today at a Sears.

$2.97 each!

Perservere, Gentlemen (and ladies)! Stay strong, warriors!

umm... why do you need 4?
LOLZ

Ugh. I called Sears today to see if they had Mario Power Tennis.

Foreign guy from Africa answered the phone. I asked him if I could check to see if they had a game in stock.

He thought I said "do you have games in your store."

I just gave up right there.

I'll call later. Ugh.

Say "Ugh" some more.

kthx.
I saw Batallion Wars (GC) at mine today for 14.98. Good buy for this game?
Certainly. It's a lot of fun for a somewhat campy tactical shooter.
