Sega has Cut Yakuza 3 content, Listings of entire Cuts now available.
I don't think they have the ability to give a shit about their games after release... their stock price is around $3. They're not doing too well it seems.

They realized a net loss for FY 2009..

I heard on some podcast I can't remember anymore that Sega's pumping out sooooooooo many goddamn releases in the first half of this year just to get everything out there, make some pocket change in the short run and finish everything up.

Something about wanting to be bought up by another company and completely revamp/reinvent itself later on this year.

I think heard the first part of what you said, about pumping so many releases out there, on the Giant Bombcast or on the PS Nation podcast...

I wish Sony would buy them, or someone like Atlus or NIS or someone like that. Or maybe they can get their act together and start doing things right.

Atlus and NIS are just about Bankrupt, do your research.
Atlus and NIS are just about Bankrupt, do your research.
How?

NIS is still releasing incredibly niche titles... they just announced one, and Atlus has had some very positive sales successes in the past year. They may not be in the green, but I hardly think that Atlus is in a state of panic. Most publishers/developers aren't doing too well right now.
Atlus and NIS are just about Bankrupt, do your research.
LOL touche. But I just read that Atlus kind of hit it big with Demon's Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes...
Atlus and NIS are just about Bankrupt, do your research.
Atlus isn't bankrupt. In fact they had one of their best quarters ever thanks to Demon's Souls. NIS is doing really shitty though. Neither of them could buy Sega. You do know Sammy owns them right?

I'm guessing Microsoft will buy Sega.

no freaking way! is that... is that a Kazuma X Ryuji doujinshi??!! wow! I never even imagined there would be RGG doujinshi.
Though I really liked him with Sayama by the end of Y2. Picturing him with anyone else or even as a single man went dead after the whole Sayama X Kiryu thing XD

? Microsoft is a American company, why you would even think they would buy a completely Japanese Franchise is beyond me. If you want something 100% hilarious look up videos of the microsoft stores in Japan. LOL quite empty and lonely... Well not empty of 360's at least.

Microsoft has been pushing to enter the Japanese market this entire generation. They also have deep pockets. Plus, they'd have SEGA games exclusively made for their consoles, giving them a leg up on Nintendo and Sony.

Not hard to see that happening, if you think about it.

Your right they do like pissing people off like that (ex. Star Ocean first on 360). However that only happens with (I want to say) Poor Devolopers? or companies that don't expect a lot of sales for there title. Seeing that Yakuza 4 sold 500,000 on its first day, when yakuza 3's lifetime sales are at 500,000 and also the fact that there is a Yakuza ps3 out on the market, thats extremely unlikely for that take over to happen.

Here is a very good Article on the yakuza series as a whole, I've already explained this to a lot of you but this is mostly for all the late comers and people curious as to whats going on/has gone on with the series.

Very good read however I disagree with the part about the Hostesses being to complex.

Lastly I want to make comment on Koi Koi, Cee-loo and the other game. WHAT THE FU*K wtf wtf wtf?!?! Seriously I would not have cared if that was cut or replaced, extremely complex, rules and instructions are non existant. The only part I like is that you roll the dice. They should have put even/odd in the game.

^ Yeah, I don't get Koi Koi at all. Cee lo isn't too bad. I was able to figure out the cheat items to make some money on Cee lo and the even/odd game. The even/odd game is in the gambling hall in Tokyo at the bums hangout/dojo. Used the lopsided cigarette to get some quick cash.

Dope! So far I've completed a little over half of the side stories and locker keys but this game as many unnessisary events, not to mention the overall slow pace that it makes me play through (do I really have to wait for people to crowd around while I beat this guy up? I'd like to skip though some of this dialog Ive read 10 seconds ago!).

I can see some people not wanting to play the Orphanage part as well. For me I was like ok its sentamental but I'm not F-ing playing hide and go seek! Hell no give me a spanking brats option lol.

So Yakuza 2s battle system was different than Yakuza 3? i.e., people crowding around before a fight?

One of the things that bothers me about the game is that I end up focusing on the reading and forget to see what is going on. That's pretty distracting to me. I forget that I can pretty much just look up after I read or before I read the text.

Overall though, I really am enjoying this game. I'm going to buy another copy for my friend.

idk haven't played much of 2, I just seem to notice it takes a good couple of seconds for a lot of unnessisary things. Maybe its just me. I'd by a second copy if there weren't any cuts.

Not being a smart alec here, but we're you not paying attention when they all but had that situation during the first few years of the Xbox 1?

And we all saw how that situation work so well for Sega now didn't we? They had to go multiplatform because they were loosing or more precisely hemorrhaging money and not making a decent return on their "deal" with their American "friends" Microsoft who encouraged them to become an exclusive 3rd party dev for them and their new console.

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it, is all I'm saying.

I'd think it be a 3-way war for them if they were interested in selling out, MS wouldn't be the only player on the table.

I'm loving this game so far. I played 13 hours the day I got which was this past Saturday and have continued playing today. I'm currently up to the meeting with the Defense Minister Tamiya Ryuuzou. Really enjoying the story.

I finished the game last night. I ended up at 74 hours, 54% complete. I wasn't expecting the ending to happen when it did... man, I wish Yakuza 4 was coming out later this year.

I'll need to go back and finish up some sidequests before I move on to God of War 3 and FF 13...

Does anyone know how well the game has sold thus far? Haven't been able to find any concrete figures yet.
I really want to see Yakuza 4 over here...

Different dev team made Yakuza 3.

In Yakuza 2, there is a slight load and it gives you the option to press start and get right to the fight. It's a bit faster. Kazuma moves faster too and his animations string together quicker.

Yakuza 3 takes a bit longer to load up the fight.
After 74 hours, how close are you to a platinum trophy?
According to PSN I'm at 48%. Don't think I'll be able to platinum this game b/c you have to beat it in hard EX mode, and I don't think I'm up to the task.

I'm lacking 16 trophies (not including the platinum), most of which have to do with minigames, coliseum tournaments, substories, and the hitman missions (still need to get the last hitman boss).

If you leave the game on and forget to turn it off or eat its a epic fall, I gave up after I forgot to turn it off while I went on my computer.

so many people still check this thread looking for a bone or something, I still need someone to upload Video of the Cut content from the Japanese ver. Yakuza 3 so I can get it subbed and we and end this thread. Otherwise this will continue forever.
Has done better than Y2 at the very least I believe.
It had to have done much better than Yakuza 2. I mean not that this means anything but Yakuza 3 is still in the Top 50 PS3 games being sold on Amazon. I hope we get Yakuza 4 this year.

If anyone is to buy Sega, it would be Sony. Microsoft isn't smart enough to work on their exclusives except for the few series like Halo and Forza. Sony on the other hand has been building up an exclusive library like no other.

no one will buy sega, hell if anything they are trying to make a dreamcast 2. I wouldn't buy it however I do wish Nintendo would just make software. I think they would make more in sales.

I picked up my preorder on release date... sad thing was gamestop employee stole my DLC bonus agian... i was the only 1 who preorder too.. which was total BS!

I'm still hoping they release sega release DLC. I would buy.

game is already a niche as it is... why not just please the fan you already.. OMG sega...

if it was sealed then it should be next to the manual, many people missed it. Unless it was opened then it probably was me.

Shut your FILTHY WHORE MOUTH RIGHT NOW. You wouldn't support a dreamcast TWO?! You sir are what's wrong with gaming. Besides Microsoft charging for online play and Nintendo making crap for the last few years.

Oh hush Paco, we both know it can't survive on its own with just sonic titles. I like sega more as a publisher anyway.

fucking Shitstop. Bought Yakuza 2 online because the closest store that had it was a hike, and it doesn't fucking work. Motherfuckers. Do they even test the shit they sell? "Guaranteed to work" my ass.

I just played and beat Yakuza 3 and while I really would have liked to see the missing content I'm just glad i got play such a great game, already sunk 30 hours into it and haven't gotten half of the trophies. Just buy the game and maybe the release the missing pieces as downloadable content.

Should have ebayed for it, while I did get my copy there I had to hunt and use my ex employee skills to find a good copy with manual and good case. I can also say I never tested a game to see if it would work, hell I could be trading in fakes.

Come on people, we are all friends here, at least I thought, we made-up right? We all want Missing content.

So the guy who subbed Kenzan episodes will also be subbing and recording Kenzan since no one wanted to step up to the plate to do it. You just need to push him if you want it any sooner. Also I hear that Sega of America's San Francisco offices closed down, hmm I wonder why?

I don't use eBay because I don't use Paypal. Yakuza 2 was only $15+shipping on Gamestop.com with CAG16. It's going for $30+shipping for a complete copy on Amazon right now. I was trying to save some money and it backfired.

I'm about 87 hours in, 3 substories to go, 4 minigame challenges left... Still a ways to go to get the plat.

Got an email from Sega about the letter I sent. I still highly encourage anyone to write to Sega to let them know how much you care about this game.
