I didn't believe that was an actual quote, but I checked the review, and the author actually wrote that in his review. That's pretty damn juvenile and insulting.

It seems like they did cut a lot of content. It's not just a hostess bar. How many hours of gameplay got cut?

At least 1UP is fighting the stereotype that all gamers are fat virgin losers. :roll: Check them off as another website with great gaming journalism.

I don't know why people keep falling for the "if we don't buy one billion copies of Yakuza 3, we'll never ever see Yakuza 4" garbage. Even if #3 ends up selling piss poor, I still think that Yakuza 4 will release here.
 
I've got another cut in Chapter 9

The Mars Fighter Invades Tokyo (Toukyou Shinryaku Kasei Fighter)

They have cut 22 Side missions There were 123? (anyone can confirm) In the Japanese version and only 101 in the US.

Now the side missions they cut were among the longest and largest available so is looking at more than the 1% "they said only was cut." Its looking more like 15-20% of the game now thats gone. You all can say I'm whiny and bitchin but I'm just here to show you all whats F'd up.

And just a fact even if Yakuza 3 just breaks even for their costs they will bring 4 over because everyone will be happy (gamers and developers who get work).
 
I was upset as many other gamers are about content that was cut but I still picked up Yakuza 3 on launch and having a great time with game reagrdless. I want to support this title so hopefully Yakuza 4 which came out this month in Japan will hopefully get localized for US.:cool:

No, even with the cuts this game offers far more things to do than most games these days. I beat the story and I was at 4.71% complete. If the cuts were the main extra things to do in the game, then I'd understand the whining, but there's just so much to do in the game.

This is a very long game, I've really got into it. It's worth it to me at least. I guess it depends on what is the most value to you. For me, it's how much fun the game is, and how long it lasts. In this case, the game is pretty fun and it's very long.

I'm happy I took a chance on it, it was well worth it.
 
I'm really getting into this game. The more I play it, the better it gets. Those of you on the fence, please buy the game so we can get some content added back in... I can see why this franchise has a cult following, it's a really good game.
 
I find it funny that they cut out the hostess clubs and other things, but they keep a game called Koi Koi in the gambling rooms. And reading the instructions thoroughly and I'm still lost. I'll get the hang of it soon and memorize what sets I should go for.
 
Yakuza 3 placed 23rd in the top 30 charts in Europe. Which means it has already outsold Yakuza 2 in all of the English speaking world on Europe's sales alone.

kenzan most likely won't happen. Its way too old and japanese but I wonder though how Way of the samurai 3 sold. That would be a good indicator for sega.

Edit: If you see a guy and a "lady" fighting, choose the option to leave them alone. If you kick the guy's butt, the "lady" will then chase you down until you lose all your strength. However, I did get a trophy from it, but I don't know if that was for getting sexually abused or because it was x number of sub-stories completed.

Honestly I've never played the game, I don't plan on it either it seems boring as hell.

So From what I've been reading and hearing is that Yakuza 3 has sold from around 48,000 to 70,000 in the US. This data was from VGCharts.com so its probably fake but who knows?

I would say you choose to fight that guy.
Because the dragqueen will keep chasing you randomly after that substory and after the final one you get silent shoes and that'll lessen the chance to get into random fights. And I don't have to hear the repetitive 'tap tap tap' sound now

I'm in the game around 30 some odd hours and only on mission 10. I'm tired of those random battles.

LOL ok, so that's the point of it. I haven't run into "her" since the one time. I lost the chase, so I guess I'll have to go through it all over again. I have to say that the chase mechanic is probably one of my least favorite parts of the game. I think I'm probably 30 or 40 hours in, and I just started chapter 6. I've been doing a lot of the sub-stories and trying to get stronger.

you wouldn't have to do so many substories if there were hostess clubs. You get experience from those as well but...I guess you do.

I'm thinking about making a thread for Kenzan, anyone down? If someone has one already I will linger over.
