Select FYE stores are clearing out their video game stuff

Apparently some F.Y.E is clearing out all their games. All games and hardware is now being sold at 30% off. And I mean EVERYTHING!

I talked to the employee there and she said that they are clearing out a majority of their stores of their video game stock and only carry video games in a few FYE locations.

The selection was okay, i picked up table tennis at $14, NHL 2007 at $20 and Gunstar Super Heros at $7.

50% off in Indianapolis too. They still had a pretty large stock... unfortunately, most of the 'deals' involve cutting prices down to comparable levels elsewhere (for example, they still have Portrait of Ruin priced at $34.99 --> $17.50, Phantasy Star Universe for 360 at $29.99 -> $15.00, and the Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Edition bundle priced at $59.99 -> $30.00). There were a couple of reasonable deals, however:

Brain Age (DS): $10
Rogue Galaxy (PS2): $20 (5-6 copies available last night)

Nothing exciting in the accessories bin; mostly EyeToy stuff and a bunch of Pokemon DS cases.

Also, the only hardware remaining at the Indianapolis store I visited were slim PS2s and GBA SPs, and those were 10% off.

I picked up madden 08 and 1600 points card for 40$ I'm going to another one today to see if they have some controllers and live cards.

Well i just came back and got wireless controller and the quik charge kit for 40$. Still thinkin about getting the wireles adapter for 50$ and the steering wheel fo 65$ but anyway good hunting:applause:

I called the St. Louis Galleria and Crestwood Plaza stores and they both say there's no clearance sale going on. The Hampton store might be doing a clearance, though they're not sure.

Just got back from my local FYE, the sale is over, they are sending aall unsold merchandise back to corporate... but I was able to snag 6 wavebirds before they boxed them up, so it cant count as hoarding as I was going to buy some if they went to 75% off, which apparently they arent.

There werent any good games from my visit there a couple days earlier...
but I was able to snag 6 wavebirds before they boxed them up
Nice find!

I passed on their accessories, but I picked up:

Astroboy (GBA) - 10
Animal Crossing (DS) - 17.50
Clubhouse Games - 15
Yoshi's Island (DS) - 15
FF VI (GBA) - 15
Odin Sphere - 20

The Karaoke Revolution American idol is acutally only $30 (universal @ FYE) but most stores never remarked them; I picked one up on Sunday for $13.50 (50% off minus the additional 10% for theic club card).
Are the clearances being advertised in-store? I went to an FYE that wasn't doing the deal.
Not all stores are doing the clearance. Im my experience it will be advertised. My local has a few xeroxed pieces of paper taped to the wall above the game section.

Really? I might have to hit this up, thanks for posting.

Just got back from the FYE in the Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn, NY; picked up Madden 08 (360) for $30 and Perfect Dark Zero Collector's Edition for $15. Not too shabby! They had other stuff too, but dammit this HAS to be the week that I have like no money to spend on games. :p

Btw, anyone know if live cards are half off too? Cause I'm ripping out my credit cards if they are.

Yep. MS points too.

hit two stores today and both said today was their last day then it all gets shipped off. i picked up:

Mario Party 4 (GC) $25
Mario Party 6 (GC) $25
Mario Party 7 (GC) $25
Mario Superstar Baseball (GC) $14.99
King Kong (360) $9.99

Hit one store last night. Pretty well cleaned out of "must have's" at this point.

Black (XBOX) @ $10
Beyond Good and Evil (XBOX) @ $10
Amplitude (PS2) @ $7.50
WarioWare Twisted (GBA) @ $7.50

Almost picked up a 360 VGA Cable for $20. Came to my senses; realized a)I didn't need one at the moment, b)can do better on eBay.
Any way to find out which stores in Illinois getting rid of games?
Hey, bobo. I think the store at the North Riverside mall is clearing out games and accessories.

The sad thing was the FYE i went to had loads of stuff but I ran out of money. They still had 5 wireless headsets, a vision cam pack, new GOW CE for $35, and many more great things. Awesome DS, PS3, and PSP selection too...

Aww well.

I wish they would keep the stuff for a bit longer...

Rate this buy

I just came back from the FYE in York, PA

It sucked that there were no controllers for the 360 or Gamecube

Here's what I got, It was the longest recepit the guy had seen in awhile

Armored Core 4 22.49
GC- Mega Man X collection 8.99
Xbox360 Need for Speed Most Wanted 13.49
DS- Star Fox Commander 13.49
GC- Viewtiful Joe 8.99
Elite Beat Agents 13.49
Crackdown 22.49
Animal Crossing 15.74
Crimson Tears 8.99
Ps2 Dual Shock controller 11.24
Breath of Fire V Dragon Quarter (The only BOF I never bought) 8.99
Mega Man X Command Missions 8.99
God of War 2 17.99
PS2- Robotech 6.74
PS2- Mega Man X8 6.74

I got the platinum card that had brought the price down to 60% total instead of 50%, it was 12.50 (It was on sale, it's usually $25) so it was worth it.

Sales tax 11.33

Total Amount paid $212.68

I think I made out pretty good

From there I went to Gamecrazy and Picked up Grownlanser Heritage of War for 39.99
The Macomb Mall FYE in Michigan is 50% off new non-Wii games ($10 Shadow of the Colossus for me). The only system they have is a PS2, which seems to be about 10% off (it sounded like it was less than that, but I may have misheard), but the older signage implied discounts did not apply to any hardware from the DS onwards even if they'd had any.
Bah. I was annoyed when I went there today, but not for the reason you think. Actually, the employees were very nice and quite helpful (the manager even told me that the next nearest store doing the clearance was in Port Huron...but the *really* important thing that he told me was that the Oakland Mall store might be next [they're evaluating it]), which surprised me a bit, considering.

No, the thing that annoyed me to no end was that I'd gone there *specifically* with the PSP in mind, and they didn't have a single thing for the PSP there. No games, no accessories, no systems, no *nothin'*. Figures.

Still, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be keeping close tabs on the Oakland Mall store for any new developments. And if anyone's dying for Elite Beat Agents for the DS, it'd be only about $15 at the Macomb store. Just so you know.

Thanks for the info. Too bad my nearest FYE is 65 miles away. I may have to give them a call. I have other shopping to do out there anyway....

Had no idea about this deal when I went into my local Cocounts (Evansville, IN) and grabbed Sims2 Pets, Eragon, Family Guy and Cars all for the PS2 for $10 each.

They looked to have a whole bunch of 360 and PS3 games, but since I dont own either I just scanned through them. Saw stuff like GOW and Resistance Fall of Man, ect. Some 360 and PS3 games seemed to be $30 (so that would be $15, sounds like a decent price if you are looking I guess)

There were a couple more PS2 games I wanted, but since I never-EVER- pay more than $10 for a game, I passed on them.

*hum*

Still going on at my Fye... GHII for PS2 still sitting there ($40)...I don't know anyone that wants, so I left it.

I picked of Sims 2 Pets (PSP) $9.99, MX vs. ATV (PSP) $7.49 and NBA Street (360) $19.99. I also saw Killzone (PSP) for $19.99 and a sign for a $15 rebate. Also they had NCAA 2008 for $30 plus a $10 rebate. Also, they have 2 PSones for $22.50 and 2 PSones with LCD (unsure of price). If the rebate is still good, I am going to pick that up (would be $5). Does any know if UMD movies are part of this sale?

hmm. I may head out there tomorrow.

i went back today just to check and see if they had sent the games back yet since yesterday they said it was the last day but it's been extended at least another week there. i picked up Mario Tennis (GC) for $25 and my friend grabbed 9 different PS3 games for $30 each.
Haha Supertition Springs right? I saw Mario Tennis and was gonna sell it to a CAG. As long as someone that doesn't have that game got it.
yep that's the one. i was debating on it since i already spent over $100 there this week getting games to fill my gamecube collection but i figured it goes for at least $30 most places used if you can find it so i picked it up.

Called around to my FYE's with no luck. One store I talked to the boss who said she would be surprised if any of the stores in the district would be running it.

I'm in Cleveland and checked downtown, Parma, North Olmstead and Cleveland.
I also saw Killzone (PSP) for $19.99 and a sign for a $15 rebate.
Wow...so that's $5 for Killzone PSP after rebate? I didn't see any rebate signs for Killzone in the one I was in today. You sure the rebate applied to that game?

Yes it did. I work all weekend, so I can't go back til Monday.
Yes it did. I work all weekend, so I can't go back til Monday.
Nuts. That's about the *perfect* amount to get me to buy that game, no questions asked. Wish I'd have known about this yesterday, considering that all of these rebates just automatically print out on the register receipt when you buy them.

I'll have to keep watching. Thanks for the heads-up.

Still going on in Greenwood, IN. Picked up:

PS2 silver Dualshock 2 - $12.49
PS2 SingStar Pop - $14.99
X360 1 month Live card - $3.99

There were lots of Dualshocks, 360 wireless controllers, and a handful of PS3 controllers still there for $12.50, $25, and $25 when I left. Sadly, a lot of the games were still overpriced, even at half off.

Phillipsburg, NJ is totally wiped out. Manager said some guy came in and dropped $900. He also said they will be shipping whats left out at the end of the week.

wasnt me :)

No go on the rebates. I asked about the rebate signs. The guy played dumb, then removed the signs. He said you don't get the rebates on the 50% off games. Maybe YMMY? I see they had the PS2 HDD for $20.50. Also, my FYE had sings posted that the sale ends 9/26.

Unbelievably awesome deal today. I went there just to see if they had any 12-month Live subscriptions and controllers. They were out of controllers, but I got the last 12-month Live subscription for $24.99.

Then the employee told me they had a couple more accessories in the back; a pair of HD-DVD drives for the XBOX 360. They also rang up at 50% off ($89.99). Grabbed both; one for myself, one for my friend. I'll get 5 free HD-DVD movies by mail too!

Anyone know anything about the Alderwood Mall FYE in Washington? I tried calling but the phone's always busy?

I would have tried it anyway. It's up the rebate fufillment company I guess

Well, FYE's rebate fulfillment company sucked the only time I had a rebate that I sent into them. It took no less than about 6 months to get a $30 rebate for a PStwo slim I grabbed and it came after they already had reimbursed me at store level in cash.

I don't know what the official policy is on rebates, but I went in a few weeks ago and saw Socom CA for $20 with a $15 rebate. Since it was expired, they sold it to me for $5.

OKC NW Exp location is sending everything back on Wednesday. Still had some PS3, 360, PS2, PSP and DS games left, but they sold most of the stuff this weekend at a tent sale.

picked up:

NBA Street Homecourt for 360 - 19.99
NCAA Football 08 for 360 - 29.99
Dead Rising for 360 - 14.99
Resistance for PS3 - 29.99
DK2 March of Minis for DS - 14.99
Pokemon Pearl for DS - 17.49
Pokemon Diamond for DS - 17.49
Transformers for DS - 14.99
Spongebob Crusty Crab for DS - 14.99

Bah, that figures...I'm not surprised. I appreciate you checking it out, though. At least I know not to waste my time. Thanks.

I went in today to buy singstar pop, as I thought it was a good deal for $25 with the mics. Unfortunately, the manager decided that is was hardware. Ha. Singstar for $45 is not such a hot deal, so I just left.
