I couldn't tell from the website if it still says it's going on but their Dec games sale are not (ended on the 26th)

Any idea what the Warranty costs run from Game Crazy? They are pretty solid terms right? Anything goes wrong and it's another Xbox for you?

I'm not seeing anything like the GS promo for trading a game for $20. I tried to refresh my page. They did this similar deal about a month ago for trading in 2-3 games for a new title, and the list is worse than GS. You got my hopes up.

On the promotions page, they have a trade 3 get 1 free new game (up to 59.99), however if you don't have all three games, each one on the list can have a TIV of 20.

Thank you for the quick response. I don't want to set off any alarm bells, but with 30% bonus TIV this week, those two should be slightly better than even transfers from GS, if you can find them used.
 
Well, personally, GC is my first choice for selling off my used games because of the generally higher than average TiV all year round. The last 3 or 4 times I've walked into GS with my games, I left without trading them in because of the poor values I get. I turned them in at GC instead.

Just saw the 30% GC trade boost email and that makes me very happy today!
 
I know it says in the FAQ in the OP that TIV here are the same as at HWV. I've found that to be true in going to my local HWV. But my question is will HWV honor the same trade in promotions that GC is running?

Generally not. You might get a manager to match it with an override but they don't have the bar codes to apply those deals (and I'm not sure they'd work even if they did). The manager of my local HWV will occasionally match the MVP boost on my trade-ins. But since he isn't there that often and I can just trade at GC with less hassle I rarely bother with that.
 
I may have to ask the manager at mine about it then. He is a pretty cool guy and a gamer. Recently they changed to one of those $18.99 new game only stores. He was pretty bummed about that but told me he can order any game or accessory in to the store for me. As well as any pre orders for new releases. I pretty much cleared them out of any games worth buying with the $5 sale that's been going on. I've also been trading in many games. Every time I come in with a trade in he gets all happy and says awesome. I think I'm the only one that trade's in there anymore, I hope they don't close down like so many other HWV's.

Looks like I have to try looking up flips before sunday so I can take advantage of their 30% bump. I have lots of things on my radar. Any even flips will work with my $200+ GS credit.

hmm for the trade in get extra 30%... would i calculate it as... 40% if i have MVP?
so say a game was... base $25, would it be $25 times 40%($10) +$25 = $35 or..
25 times 10%(mvp) = $27.50 times 30% = $35.75

..no. i thought it was common knowledge that MVP doesn't stack with any other bonuses.

they've only just now started 30% more for trades if you have an MVP membership when you're trading in towards the purchase of a select new game.

I completely agree with the first statement.

As for the 30% promotion, though, I was under the impression it applied to *all* trades. As stated in the Newsletter, the e-mail reads "Get 30% more trade credit on all game trades from now until 1/3." It doesn't really say you have to be an MVP member, or trading towards anything. >_>; I had no trouble trading in my Xbox Live Vision Camera today with 30% more credit. I even asked the employee if it qualified for the 30% more (it being an accessory) and he glanced at the coupon, saying it did. :/

Why am I always the one to cause this confusion?

:wall: I knew that I'd have to explain what I was typing.

the 30% more bonus does apply towards all trades, excluding hardware (I think).

I never said you have to be an MVP member. He was asking if MVP stacked.

You aren't trading towards anything. I was just mentioning that they usually do "trade anything towards the purchase of and get 20% more!", and now they're starting to advertise 30% more trade credit towards the purchase of whatever hot new game is coming out. That's all.

If it makes you feel better, Jackie, Scorch posted in the Jan BB RZ thread asking if the coupons were for silver RZ members only when they never have been.

Sorry, Scorch, just using this as an example to show that people do ask about things they are not familiar with.
 
Wow I love game crazy. Just drove over and traded in Tekken 6 for 32 bucks and got AC2 for the Ps3 for 45 bucks. So I only paid like 13 bucks total for AC2....woot

I went in cause they sent me an email saying trade 2 off of a list for a new game. However TIV for Tekken was 32 so I figured I'd just pay the difference rather then trade Borderlands and tekken yipppee

On the Cube? Yeah, a lot of older PS2 and Cube games dropped to $9.99 used and are no longer being bought back by the company. The company goes for newer, hotter titles.. not interested in older titles, despite being rare.

oh. WTF?

sigh.. whoever does the price drops and promotions for the company really phones in his job, he should be embarrassed..

I'm guessing it's a pricing error that won't get fixed unless that store calls tech support. It happens with some games and guides. It's weird, but that's what GC gets for running on early 90s software..
