is the movie mr. 3000 any good? its going to be on fx later and i was thinking of watching it.
Funny story about this.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my older sister got this for her son to watch. She is uber over-protective about him in terms of the things he's exposed to. I gave him Feel the Magic last Christmas (he's 13 now) and she swiped it away and berated me about giving it to him. You see, she is worried he'll learn about violence and sex and women and all the other things a normal 13 year old boy craves to learn about. She's a bit religious for my tastes, and since she and the father divorced about 6 months after he was born (total high school pregnancy thing), she basically flips out if anyone (in her eyes) challenges her parental authority.
This is always a chore every Christmas, as I try to give him games (no one else seems to) for his systems, and she completely thinks everything I am giving him is total trash. Or. Paganistic or something. I really have no clue.
At any rate, she gets him this movie and he watches it. I'm in the room grinding through FF2 (which is a bitch, btw) and just listening about how every other word is a cuss word. Then the one somewhat erotic scene in the middle of the movie.
She wasn't watching it, but her new husband (who might actually be more of a prude than she is) was flipping out, especially during that somewhat erotic scene (which is really nothing more than a lot of innuendo and double entendre). I'd see him twitch with every cuss word.
Double standards are so FTW. She flipped out when I got my nephew to switch beds with me, so I could be in the main room and watch TV after he went to sleep. This set her the

off. I was amazed.
This all said, the only thing I do with my nephew is let him know he can call me about anything and I'll give him a straight answer without any kind of ulterior motive, which is more than I can say about most other people around him.
Also, as for the movie itself, I did like that Bernie Mac taught the Asian guy on his team proper trash talk ettiquette. He quizzes him later and says "Kiss my...." The Asian guy goes "BLACK ASS!"
That was a good line.
