CAGiversary!
Hello there! I work at a Gamestop that had a major internal theft problem, and I had to let go the entire staff. So I am usually very good at catching shoplifters and being on top of things, but while I was dealing with this, I told an employee to put the PS1 games on the sales floor. (they were locked away in a cabinet) I did not know we had good stuff on there.

Well, some chump ex-employee comes by and I almost, but not quite catch him stealing some games from there. I know he stole something but I could not prove it. Anyway, he just happens to bring the same games I am missing to another store and trades them in for cash. (We know who he was, he used to work there)

Anyway, during this process he leaves his OWN game folder at this store. Full of good stuff, well over the value of what he stole. Well, in a perfect karma revenge, we trade his games in and use that money to purchase the games he stole, and the extra goes into the Gamestop bank account.
lol, KARMA KARMA KARMA. Self-owned shoplifting b**ch!!!!!!!

hehehe... good stuff. Shoplifters should be hung by their nuts and beat like a pinata. But taking his god games does come in a close second.

So, 2 wrongs do make a right is what you're saying?

You do realize that if he remembers he for sure left them there and you guys refuse to return them you could get in some pretty heavy legal trouble right?

You fired every single employee just because you couldn't figure out who stole the merchandise??
Ever heard of cheap security cameras?

lol KARMA KARMA KARMA

If he isnt saying that then he SHOULD be. Because in some cases it does.

Gamestop has 2 security cameras. One pointed at the register on the employees. One in the back on the employees at an odd angle. It's REAL easy to steal from GS.

So one person's suspicion is enough to believe that this ex-employee definetly stole the merchandise? Of course the OP is going to sound pretty sure of his suspicion because he used it as a justification to commit an act just as bad. Stealing is wrong, just becasue you think someone is stealing from you does not give you the right to steal from them, plain and simple. We have laws and the court system for a reason.

What would be really funny is if this guy is a CAG and sees this post.

How good at catching shoplifters could you be if you fired the entire staff? Unless you're actually saying that every single employee was stealing, which, although funny, I find hard to believe. Seems more like carpet bombing to me.

You fired your entire staff because you didn't know who was stealing, and then stole a kid's games when you couldn't prove that he stole from you?

...

Wow.

Wow, I sure hope he doesnt know where you live based on store records and hides in your closet until you get home, jumps out and injects you with something to paralyze you while he slowly has his way with you.

Because if it was me, and I just read this, thats what I would do.

Also, if you fired the whole staff, and its still going on, maybe its you who should be fired.

I was told to fire the whole staff by the company. It was not my decision.

He sold back the same games that were missing from my store. And I did not keep his money, I used that trade in credit to pruchase the games he stole, that way he did nothing wrong. He just pruchased the games....um....later.

There are 300 Gamestops in Texas, how will he know who i am, even if he owns CAG?

If it was you who stole, then you're a chump who deserves to be treated the way I treated this guy.

And Gee, the former staff is gone, and now when I do perpetuals, I find that there are no more games missing? I also find that the games traded in for cash are actually there!

He has just as much difficulty proving I stole his games than I do proving that he stole them from me. How is he going to prove it? What is he going to do?

Hey, after he sold that stuff back I am sure he DID steal from me. But what can I do? Nothing, that's what. The same thing that this chump can do, a big fat nothing........except go crying to his momma.

Yep, keep justifying it.

You know, its Gamestop store managers like you that lead to all the negative opinions people have around here. Your higherups told you to fire the entire staff? They should have fired you for gross incompetence.

:applause:

 so you fire everyone in the store, then some guy stole some games, so you stole games from him to get revenge? I think I found the culprit of your internal theft problem.

p.s. the whole "karma" thing doesn't end at you-- stealing from someone who stole something isn't right either

Wow. So because they were stolen from you at some point, the next person who ever trades those games in at a later date is the thief? That's some mighty fine rationale there. I can see, given how air tight that was, why you decided you were so in the right as to steal them back rather than go to the police or otherwise pursue legal action. Congratulations on some fine, fine sleuthing.

By the way, your former employee could find you out, since yours is probably the only Gamestop in Texas mismanaged enough to have needed a 100% staff turnover.

See, I told you Game Stop steals from it's customers. I hope your district manager reads this thread. Infact, I am going to email some people. Thank you!

You guys honestly think the police would give a crap about this?

I am not sayig its right but either way its a waste of their time.

When I was working at Home Depot we had a lot of theft out of contrctors trucks as well as workers trucks while they were shopping in the store.

Me and a guy were outside and someone was inside the back of HIS truck taking a power washer and some other shit (that he had already removed and leaned against the truck)

Randy grabbed him and the guy got away from him. However he left his coat and car keys in the struggle.

On his keys he had a Kroger and a D&W card (which has all hsi personal info).

We gave it all to the cops and they returned the keys to the guy and nothing ever came of it.
Are you saying CheapyD was the thief?
No no no, cheapyd rocks man. He has saved me so much money here it is ridiculous. No offense meant CheapyD in case you are reading this!

People can try to turn this around my assumption is that they kid stole the stuff and minutes later turned up at a local store to sell it.

I think its funny how the whole thing worked out in the end. This post was meant for a laugh most likely. Now its getting all run down with everyone who is on a higher horse.

i wouldnt have taken his games but personally thats what he deserved if indeed he did steal it.

You're completely right. It was a hilarious tale about a poorly managed Gamestop store. It was so poorly managed it that had to have an entire staff left go because the manager couldn't handle the store.

Totally awesome.

Where can I nominate him for manager of the year? Because the OP deserves it. Really he does.

Your higher ups told you to fire your entire staff because you couldn't control them? A manager incapable of management -- why'd they keep you?
