how do you put images in your signiture

No, he's linking to a host.

You need to include http:// before your link, like this:

http://redgopher.com/img/gopher.jpg

So when you put it in the img tags, it looks like this:

No, you can't have php pages serve you the image. It has to be a direct link.

Yes. When you uploaded your image, there should have been about 4 or 5 boxes with different methods of showing your image. Copy the stuff in the first box, and put that directly into your sig.

EDIT: Example:
