Sony should just fold Singstar support for the USA. It's apparent they can't get on the ball. Microsoft is releasing anywhere from 3-6 songs each week on Lips. At a minimum, that's 12 new songs a month, most of which people have actually heard of. The amount of classics and 80's songs on Lips now is starting to get up there. I have no reason to even touch the Singstar 80's disc I have anymore. Damn shame...

It's pathetic how Sony supports the USA on these things (and on PSN).

Meanwhile, Lips got some great Elton John last week...
 
Yeah, considering what LIPS has put out there really are no excuses for SCEE. 2 disc releases since Jan. 09, awful dlc, no wireless mics, no support on the playstation blog, broken rap scoring, constant delays, an awful drm system, etc.

Singstar is still a great game, but its competitors and own promises forced us to set higher expectations for it.

I'm actually curious how many copies of Singstar Latino were sold as well. Any way to find that out?

I bought both Vol 1 and 2 with the mics, so I don't need 4 mics. PM me if interested.

lol. I've stopped asking for miracles when it comes to SS in the U.S. months ago. I've grabbed my $50 PSN card, d/lded what I needed and grabbed every U.S. PS2/PS3 SS disc available via Goozex and Gamestop. Just waiting on them to turn off the U.S. servers....

Developer interview found here.

Interview leaves a lot of lingering questions though.
Will current dlc be compatible with SingStar Dance and SingStar Guitar free-of-charge? Will dlc prices be higher now? Are these modes separate games, combined into one, or downloadable content?

Personally, I'm not too impressed by either mode. Dance seems more entertaining than the guitar copycat. Maybe they'll add drums next year? ;)

The having to pay extra to upgrade your already bought songs to work with SingStar Dance is weaksauce tho.
 
The new franchise manager actually answered a question about wireless mics. Thank god.

You know what would be silly? If they only allowed online battles with PS3 discs and Singstore DLC (ie. barring PS2 disc-based battles due to "copyright").

I agree, but any update to what I thought was "dead in the water" (at least here in the states) is great news!! I was afraid the US would get burned as usual.

Same here. When I couldn't access the Singstore a few days ago, I thought Sony had finally given up and pulled the plug on support for the US.

I just purchased a PS3 and got Singstar. I joined the CAG club and was interested in meeting new CAG friends/battling (currently have ABBA, SS2 and Queen discs) and generally having fun. Feel free to add me.

Wolfie, I don't have SS1 yet. I'm in the market for a cheap copy though. I have some DLC as well. I'll send you a msg next time ur on and see if we can compare songs. I did just import SS Motown and am waiting for my copy.
