Skyrim
Oh it's not that bad.
What I actually found was it made the game challenging lol. Granted I had been playing on master, but I started getting one-shot by enemy shouts or burning to death by dragons. Some people might be pissed off by that, though.

If you don't abuse smithing and enchanting, the game is still challenging even before the loss of resistances. I'm a level 37 stealth archer using mostly Thieves Guild armor, a dragon priest mask along with weapons found in the world and if I get discovered, I'm usually in trouble. I did use the Iron Daggers to get my smithing up so I could improve magic weapons but it sits at 71 right now. Enchanting is at like 40-something only due to disenchants and using soul gems to refill my weapons.

Anyway, had the best quote from a guard last night...

Guard: "My cousin is off fighting dragons and what do I get? Guard duty..." This is is with a dragon dying right behind him that he helped kill! :D

Since my character in Oblivion and first one in Skyrim are Imperials who do everything, I decided to try a new character. Playing as a Nord fighter, just wearing Heavy Armor and going around hacking people with a Greatsword. I focused on finishing the Companions quest first. Wasn't going to do the Thieves Guild but the quest sprung up on me so I felt compelled to. For the Dark Brotherhood, I'm going to do that a little differently.

Also went on a mod-installing spree last night. I tried Better Females by Bella. It's great on your character if you use a female, but it doesn't look as good on NPCs. Using No More Block Faces and Detailed Faces is better.

Jodou that part with the dragon, how did you ever manage to pull that off?

I am a level 37 Thief myself. Loving getting 30x damage on a sneak dagger attack :D.

With that said, the game is getting annoying for me because it keeps crashing randomly for me.

Gotta be fearless. . .and have a double-enchanted (life leech/frost damage) daedric dagger that does 125 damage with maxed out 1H hehe.

The crashing should be fixed soon with them increasing the memory awareness to 4 gigs next patch. At least, it will extend the uptime before memory leaks crash it lol.

Great, help me with a bug please. Started a new game because my dark elf wasn't developing the way I liked. So I get to Riverwood,
did the trick where I paid Faendel to teach me archery, make him join me, take my money back,
and dismissed him.

So I continue to Whiterun, get into a fight with
Uthgerd
, ask her to join me so she can tank, but she says I'm with someone else.

Any suggestions? I don't really care about other NPCs joining me to fight. I just really like doing the
get my money back cheat
.

Edit: ...on second thought, if I can't work out this bug, will it stop me from advancing the game further down the road??!?!?!? If so, I think I'd rather start over again.

Very nice on the dagger. Any ETA on the patch? Skyrim crashed 7 times on Sunday for me and had graphical errors at least 3-4 times.

Nexus Mod Manager
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/content/modmanager/

If you don't already know about this, it's a mod manager that works with Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and I think some other games. It will make managing your mods easier. Also allows you to download directly to it from Skyrim Nexus.

Tytanis-The Ultimate Mod
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1601

This mod does a ton to list it all. Some highlights include being able to craft armor like Nightingale Armor, Blade Armor, Dragonbone weapons (retextured Orcish weapons), smelt items into raw materials, I still haven't looked at all it can do.

Nightingale Prime Armor
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1896

Retexture of the Nightingale Armor. Haven't actually seen used it myself but the screenshots look good.

Deadly Serious Shrouded Armor
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2260

Retexture of the Shrouded Armor. I LOVE this as it makes it look so much better. The hood is changed. It looks like a priest's hood with a cape coming down from it. Personally, I didn't really like it that much. If you don't want to use it, download it manually and delete all the hood files in the textures and meshes folders.

QD Inventory

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=667

Changes the Items layout so it's much better.

No More Blocky Faces by Xenius
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30

As it says, no more blocky faces. Makes characters look a lot better. May be required by some other mods.

Detailed Faces v2 by Xenius
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26

Detailed faces. Works with No More Blocky Faces (same creator).

For more character enhancement mods by this creator, check here:
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2356

Better Females by Bella
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2812

It's gotten a lot of endorsements, but I didn't like it. While it's great if you're creating a female character to play, it just doesn't look that good on NPCs. The creator did add a more basic version which just improves textures (requires No More Blocky Faces) but I've not had the chance to see it myself.

Glowing Ore Veins 300
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=193

Ore veins glow so they're easier to see.

Non-Playable Armor

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=820

Allows you to obtain the locked armor/clothing NPCs wear. Some examples include the Tortuer's Hood (guy you encounter when you escape Helgen) and Nocturnal's Robes (giggity).

Whelp, I've been playing my buddy's game a bit, so let me throw in:

Better Sorting, which renames a lot of items (apparently you can't rename 'em all without the creation kit) to make finding what you want easier. Great for potions, and works with QD Inventory.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2730

Empowered Destruction Magic, to compensate for the fact that destruction magic becomes quite shitty at higher levels.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1245

No NPC Greetings stops NPCs from bombarding you with their inane, unchanging introduction messages every time they get within five feet of you (and you're already in an important plot-related dialogue with someone else seriously guys fuck off).
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=746

And while I have not and probably never will use it because I live with other people and seriously, there are other people in my house, Thu'uMic is a heavily work-in-progress mod that gives you voice-activated dragon shouts.

If the PC version doesn't go on sale soon I'm going to be pro-pirating.

Kidding, kidding, but seriously, the console versions are being given away while the PC version refuses to go on sale. At this point I should just wait for GOTY.

Would still be nice if the PC version would go on sale, at least price match what the console versions are being sold for. I miss the old days where the PC version was 10 bucks cheaper than the console versions (yeah, I know that sometimes they still are).

I think I'm using too many mods. Had it crash before it got to the main menu a few times. Most I have are retextures of armor, weapons, and a few NPC faces (Aela, Camilla, and Muiri). Disabled some like the ones which changed the Dragon Bone, Dragon Scale and Leather weights. Also got rid of Desaturated Dwarven Armor (I figure I just won't use it), a silver Elven weapon retexture (kept a bow since that's all I use), and got rid of Better Beast Races because I noticed my Khajiit's left eye gets weird after awhile and I have to do "showracemenu" to fix it. There are few beasts and I rarely see my character's face anyway.

I've also changed my mind on Nightingale Armor mods. This is much better than Prime. Just improves the default texture so it looks even better, doesn't try to do too much.

If anyone has a copy of FXAA Post Process Injector, specifically 1.3, could you kindly share it? The original mod has been hidden on Nexus by the author, and all I can find is 2.1 (which won't work with a config I found that looks really promising.) Thanks!
