Same boat as you. Back when you can still find these games on shelves, I just kept glancing at them each time I was at the store. I always looked at the back of the cases, then put them back on the shelf. I always thought that they'd be around and told myself that I'd just wait for a price drop. Couple of years later... I try to look for them and they aren't there any more. I look on eBay and Amazon and see outrageous prices for them. And my local Fry's sold the DDS Deluxe Edition for $19.99 at one point, with a RACK full of them. WHAT!

This was the time to bite and I'm glad I did.

I ordered a copy of Digital Devil Saga 2. You have no idea how long I've been waiting to get a reasonably priced copy of it! I have Digital Devil Saga 1 (I was oneo of those lucky CAGers who got it from a TRU clearance sale for $10 a looooooong time ago) and vowed not to play it until I got the second game to complete it.
