Although SNES is my favorite console, I can't help but think I'd be more excited about the GC Classic. I feel that is the most underrated system ever -- yes more so than Dreamcast -- and it holds a special place in my heart: In college, each roommate of mine had one system. I was the guy with the GC, the other two had PS3, Xbox.
So many great games on GC ....

I think it's pretty clear that the poster believes reselling is illegal - there's not exactly many ways to misinterpret "Reselling is illegal."
It's possible that the question was intended as rhetorical. However, even if resellers were removed from the equation, I'm not sure that there would still be sufficient supply to meet the perceived demand. Of course, if resellers were gone, there's a good chance that Nintendo's sales estimates and production would be altered in some way, thereby having an effect on the total supply.

I agree - my Gamecube has a pretty strong library and seems to be built like an indestructible black brick. Although I never owned them during the console lifecyle, I tracked down copies of the GBA player (w/ disc!), MGS: The Twin Snakes, and FE
oR before prices started to skyrocket.I was particularly impressed by the FE
oR copy that I picked up during the Gamestop liquidation on GC products (90% off?); turns out it was in mint condition with the original case/manuals and even unused Club Nintendo codes. All for about $5.XX out the door.The day my wavebird dies will be sad indeed.

Lack of inflection in text and just missing a "If" or "Say" before "reselling is illegal". I also viewed his statement as a hypothetical scenario that he was asking about, not his belief. The immediately following sentences "How difficult does it become to get a preorder? Does it stay the same, get harder or get easier?" make no sense in any other context than he is asking you about his stated scenario. You are analyzing his words like a robot without good AI. That just reminds me, anybody else would LOVE to see them make a Terminator game using the same engine/game design as Horizon: Zero Dawn? Since basically considering that game is pretty much a direct knock off (in a good way) of the Terminator franchise?

So, yes, it would get easier to secure a preorder and the gap between those who want one and who would get them would decrease. My wager is it could completely close and there could be a chance of that.

Has anyone tried contacting Amazon through email messaging (Help/Need more help/Contact us) about their purchased Nintendo Digital Downloads/Game Trust Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition?
I have found in the past that messaging them seems to yield more accurate responses than that of the live chat CSA's. I'm personally avoiding it because I am sure that it's not going to be a valid sale. I guess I'm in denial about it and would rather go on thinking there is still a tiny possibility that this order is valid.
I didn't even get a single email notification this time around... not from any of the places I clicked on (NOTIFY ME BY EMAIL!), not even from Nowinstock.net, and I tested that out too! It notified me when Wal-Mart had its first initial wave of (borked) pre-orders. Which I jumped on and was very happy to have my single system pre-ordered.
I thought, "this is awesome! I don't have to worry about watching my email and game news like a hawk and can enjoy the rest of the Summer." Then of course they waited a week to cancel and then didn't bother to notify me when they became available to order FOR REAL. Such a pain in the ass.
Also, waiting in line and buying one at launch is not an option for me do to health problems.
It's online or nothing, and it's looking like nothing at this point unless that Amazon deal comes through, but the fact that they deleted the page listing kinda took away most of my hope of that happening.

Nintendo retained the rights to N64. Rare owns Conker, Banjo 1&2, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, and are on their Rare Replay compilation, so it's not something I'd ever expect to see on a Nintendo based product... UNLESS Nintendo were to trade Goldeneye 007 to Microsoft to release their HD Remaster in exchange for the ability to release the Rare N64 games on their Virtual Console, but I think that ship has sailed when Nintendo have them a big DK thumb's down to the offer.
It's sad too, because some of the very best N64 games never make it to Virtual Console, and will surely be missed on an N64 Classic Edition system as well. I think even releasing a syst e like that will just draw more attention to what Nintendo doesn't own!
So no Goldeneye 007, Conker Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjon Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Perfect Dark, and Killer Instinct Gold!
I Also don't think we'll see the Star Wars games such as Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron, star Wars Episode I Racer, Battle for Naboo due to pricy 20th Century Fox licensing.
I would however try to add Doom 64, Tetrisphere, Sin & Punishment, Beetle Adventure Racing, Turok to the list.
Goldeneye is more complicated than that, it involves the license with the movie rights owners as well. So three parties are involved in the license. But Microsoft/Rare and Nintendo actually play together pretty well on those things, there probably isn't enough profit potential to go re-license the movie. Nintendo could have made several of the Rare games much more complicated to license (and later to add to Replay) but they didn't, they just don't let things go when it involves their direct properties, like Donkey/Diddy Kong and Starfox. I remember reading they were actually pretty cool about those games that Rare made outside of the ones with Nintendo characters. They also made nice really quickly on the cross console play with Microsoft, Sony are the ones being dicks over that.

Yep, and even better most list delivery that they obviously cannot make (which is worse than the 30 day thing). They are in violation of the terms for presales on EBay.

Solution. Until this is over keep tales of maximum order successes to a minimum (or not at all). Less likely to piss people off or get "sure you are not a scalper response." Share what led to your success (used Tracker app) so maybe if pre orders come up one more time others can be successful.

Man FE was a huge game for me back then. I was looking for a "strategy rpg" and went to IGN to look at titles. Saw FE and said, "That looks cool." It soon consumed my life. My favorite was having Gamefaqs Character Ranking open and playing the game. Mario Sunshine was also A+ but perhaps king for me was Metroid Prime. Hands down best soundtrack to a game + that game has aged extremely well. Still amazing even today. Plus, it was the coolest thing in the world playing Metroid with a Wavebird.

Ya but ebay is policing it big time listings dipped on day 1 from 91 listings to 27 listings they have spiked back today to 46 listings; those people are dumb EBAY will ban there account for 30 days if they get more then 3 pulled listings in a one week period. The 2nd market price is going to still be the same next week when its finally inside the 30 days. short term resellers mentality.
I used tracker, followed IGNDeals, and CAG on twitter I was able to secure mine because of a CAG Tweet that mentioned the gamestop app was working for orders if it wasnt for that I would have been SOL.
The Tracker app is not always accurate but works most of the time. When BB went up my phone was charging in the kitchen. I realized from the WM hiccup that I also receive the alerts on my Apple Watch. BB alert showed up on watch and I made it to their site in time.
I think the N64 Classic would mostly be the games you'd expect and I also agree that it will have less than the SNES, it's hard to come up with 20 games worth putting on an N64 Classic IMO. I think we will see all the obvious stuff like Mario 64, both Zeldas, F-Zero X, DK64, Pilotwings 64, Paper Mario, etc. I also believe this will include Sin & Punishment. I would like to see something like Mischief Makers, the Mystical Ninja games, or Space Station Silicon Valley included as well though. Nintendo could also make a killing selling extra controllers, I can't imagine they would include 4 in the box, but I also can't imagine they would produce enough controllers.
Nintendo owns DK and can release DK64 on whatever they please. I believe it was available on both the Wii and Wii U VC as well. Microsoft however owns Rare along with everything else they have made outside of the Nintendo properties. So no GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, or Jet Force.

Those websites are kind of useless when 10,000 people get the alerts at the same time and there's a few hundred available. Setting up page monitor is the best way to beat the rush and get an order in.
Hang on, sites like amazon, best buy, walmart and gamestop should be getting tens of thousands of systems for the launch. One would think?
The nes classic continued to get restocks for a good six months after it was released, there will be restocks on the snes classics. You will have to be fast though, just look how quick some of these sites sold out: best buy in about a half hour, target took maybe 10 minutes, gamestop was sold out in ten minutes.
I think OP was somewhat joking when he said the SNES was dead and done already. I still believe Nintendo will make good on producing more of these than the NES Classic and I think they will at the very least double the number and put out around 4-5 million units before it's all said and done. I also agree that you will need to be quick to get one. Even if they do 5 million the demand is so high and they have already made it known they will not be making these past 2017 so it just screams for scalpers to buy multiple systems and hold on to them to sell once production has ended.
I managed to get a pre-order, but still feel that the pre-orders were handled extremely poorly across the board. Nintendo should have set these retailers up better and the retailers should have had more insight into informing customers when they would be available for pre-order.

I plan on getting the Supa Retron HD as well. I have my SNES Model 2 hooked up currently, but living in an apartment I haven't moved all of my stuff out of storage due to space and do not currently have my CRT hooked up so playing SNES games on a LCD screen is not ideal. Was glad they announced this since I was considering buying a Framemeister specifically for my SNES recently. I imagine this will be priced in the $40-$60 range too.
you think it will be price as low as $40? im thinking at least $60 or maybe even $80. im hoping amazon gets it for preorder soon. if not amazon someone else soon.
The NES Retron HD is $40, so I think that the SNES could possibly be the same price, but I would guess that $50 or $60 is more likely what it will cost. I don't think they will price it at $80 just because they are going to obviously push that out to people who can't get their hands on the SNES Classic and being slightly cheaper will only make this more attractive. You've also got to factor in that you'll need cartridges which we all know can get expensive for SNES if you don't already have a solid collection.
I've gotten out of NES games for the most part and only have a handful in my collection currently, but if I didn't have a modded NES Classic Edition I would have bought the NES Retron HD as well.
since the NES RetroN HD was $40, i would say the SNES one will be at least $60. if it is $40 that would be AWESOME. Either way i can't wait for it. More so then the SNES classic itself. LOL

Yea it looks like it's been closed now. I'm grateful for the post since I was lucky enough to get a BBY pre-order in but it went downhill once people started replying with nonsense. Seriously why can't people read? Anyway good luck to anyone else.

And that was clearly the easiest to order, for about 1/2 hour, since nobody knew what the heck it was (Or could it have really been due to lack of bots?). But as long as it said sold by amazon.com and preorder for sept 29, everyone should have ordered. Worst case, could have ordered and sort it out later.
Amazon order updated as well, I read that they are cancelling multiples tho so be on the lookout for that. I have one at Ama and one at BB, I feel good about my chances of getting at least one of these shipped. On another note, my BB gift cards not refunding after the cancelled SNES order still has not be resolved and Im not confident it will so that sucks...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
