I was just wondering, what system are you guys planning on getting Guitar Hero 3 for?

I'm debating at this point.. I'm interested in 360, PS3, and PS2 versions of the game.. still have to make up my mind..

What are your thoughts

PS3 version for sure. I hear GHII may not work (that's up in the air), but the first will at least, and I like the first way more. Also, PS3 is my main console, so I want to put one of my favorite series on PS3.
 
Wii for me, don't have any previous versions. With any luck, they'll incorporate motion sensing into a separate mode to differentiate it a bit. Supposedly it will have DLC, which I don't care for now, but who knows.
 
ill be picking it up for 360, i already have 1 guitar for 360, so this will make it 2. i dont plan on getting rockband because ill never be able to play it fully.
 
360, if I get it. I have two guitars for the 360 already, so maybe it will be cheaper than $60 without a guitar. Is there a picture of the new guitars yet?

Wii - I wanna see how the controller will work for this system.

360 - Acheivements, DLC

PS3 - Huge storage medium, perhaps they can put more songs into this version?(Probably not), DLC, Home compatible?

Yeah, I meant do to a smiley face as a joke, but forgot. :(

I went with PS3, because I want to play GH 1 and 2 on my PS3 since hte ps2 isn't in my room but the ps3 is.

I already got 2 controllers for the PS2 so I will likely go with that. I do not have any next gen consoles but at some point I think will buy the GHs for the PS3, I hate the guitars for the 360 as they have a shorter neck and make my wrist hurt.
 
360. I like the guitar the best (hopefully I won't have to buy a bundle) and I love me some achievements.

I'm avoid the Wii version. It seems to me that putting the Wii remote into the guitar would add a lot more extra weight to it. Plus, I doubt it'll be any cheaper either.
 
If the Guitar works flawlessly with GH1 and GH2, then PS3.

If it has problems playing the older titles (as rumors flutter about suggesting), then it will be a tough call - which would lead to me likely buying the game only for 360.

I may *try* (and fail) to hold out for Rock Band, see what reviews are like for it and how compatible that guitar is w/ GH1 and 2 (it is Harmonix, after all, they may come to be PS3 saviors to us all). I don't want to buy more controllers than I'll use.
 
I'm going to get the 360 version game only, and I'll get Rock Band eventually for that game's guitar. I can live with the Xplorer guitar for use with GH3
 
If I have GH2 & 3 Guitars for 360, will I be able to use them for both Bass and guitar parts in Rock Band?

Sorry to go off topic but this will also sway my opinion.
 
definately ps2, should be cheaper and has by far the best guitar that comes with it (though i will likely stick with my GH1 guitar and go for the guitarless copy). DLC is overpriced and just songs from old games anyway, who needs it when the disc has 70+ songs on it? I thought this was cheapassgamer.com, and yet 2 pages in and I'm the only one buying the cheapest version and without all these uber ass expensive new consoles? you rich bastards, lol
 
Ugh, I think I have some kinda horrible, horrible problem...

I already got 3 Guitars for the PS2 (the red and black SG and the white wireless), though I'll probably end up getting it for the PS2 as well for Guitar Hero III. I think eventually I'll get it for the 360 as well so I know i'll have eventual downloadable content (I hope), plus two guitars for the 360.

BUT...

I already preordered the Rock Band bundle for the 360 and will probably get another guitar for it (bassist and what not) simply because I'm unsure if theyll be compatible with GH3 and simply because hammer ons and pull offs are a definete must...

Goddamn, I will be poor before December.
 
Well I have a Wii and have thought about getting that version, but Im definitely sticking with PS2 for GH3. It will be the cheapest version and PS2 is pretty much all Im interested in and play anyway. And I already have guitars and a BB gift card, so I will be getting just the game for fairly cheap. Cant wait for GHIII.
