Sony Playstation Home - Gen. Discussion & Info - Open Beta Available Now
what? u gotta buy it?

fuck that
its a bummer, I already started my script.

guy meets girl in central plaza, they hit it off.
girl turns out to be a dude...
guy cabbage patches her to death...

they should be up now... the patapon outfits are available... free.

also, they have alot of new clothing... I was planning to get some Tekken stuff but they had characters I didn't care about.

Tried the siren area but I think someone put bubble machines in front of the desk area so you couldn't access the minigame. There were swarms of people all trying to get in.

Where were the Patapon outfits at? I could not find them in the mall.

I stood at the siren space for what must have been five minutes waiting to try the game out and the "GAME IS OCCUPIED" message would not go away. What's the fucking point of it, if you can't play?

I agree, and man, I hate to harp on this like a broken record, but why the hell is there a fucking queue for everything interesting to do? I mean seriously, who thought that was good idea? It really sucks that there's like maybe 4 to 6 units of a game kiosk, bowling lane, pool table, whatever and you have wait for people to leave to use it. To me, it defeats the purpose. If I just wanted social interaction, I can think of a number of other much better and way less time-sinky ways of doing it. :/

Ironically, as I type this, there is no one in the EA upstairs gamespace, so there aren't enough people available to play poker with. This is so crazy--you can't get into single player games, and when you want to play a multiplayer game with no one available, you can't even bot the game.

Ugh and all this downloading and loading every goddamn zone reminds of a more archaic, annoying EverQuest.

I agree that it is totally dumb to have it set up this way.The only game I have ever been able to do is the EA racing. Everything else there is always a wait.

I saw that. Havent seen any pics but sounds cool. Ill have 3 "spaces" now and all for free.

Anyone buy the movie studio? Its a better investment than paying for that clubhouse thing

you have the movie studio? any impressions?

No I was wondering if anyone here got it. I know someone paid for a clubhouse so I was hoping they bought the movie studio as well. It seems cool to me personally.

Doesn't the person who got the Clubhouse now have to pay monthly fees on it?

I actually stopped by the Gamer's Lounge today. Someone please tell me the point. There's NOTHING there. I also got the Patapon shirts, which are okay. Home has a lot of useless crap in it right now.

i got it cant do anything maybe make a very cheap porn
We will eventually, but they could limit it to PSN store movie purchases which renders it useless
not that could work if it let us have something like a CAG movie night. One person buys the movie and we all come over to his house to watch it. like gamesharing only more flexible.

Just found this thread so going to tag for future reference/discussions. Just started to use home recently. I did buy the Stage set...find no use for it really. Hope more can be added to it.

Resistance 2 space out tomorrow, game launching working for up to 30 ppls competitive and co-op sessions for up to 8 homies. There is a mini game with scoreboards which unlocks goodies it seems. Out for both US\UK regions!

Hopefully it doesnt take too much longer. They really need to have the spaces release the day the game comes out. It would help hype people up for the game
Stark what are the "machinima tools"?
From Wiki

Machinima is the use of real-time three-dimensional (3-D) graphics rendering engines to generate computer animation.
Here, basically there is going to be a "movie maker" that you can use Home to pose your avatars and set up a stage. Shooting videos like what was produced above in the video links.

Actually sounds pretty neat. I wonder if you can "capture" other Home members w/ the Ghost Trap...:whistle2:k

Here is video of items.

Also more to come, and the new "Stage" is rumored to be for sell too in the estate store.

CULVER CITY, CA – May 28, 2009 – The cult-classic sci-fi movie Ghostbusters is coming to PlayStation®Home, thanks to “Loot,” a group of innovative developers dedicated to creating branded interactive entertainment products and experiences for Sony Computer Entertainment America’s PlayStation Home, and Sony Pictures Consumer Products. Loot (http://www.twitter.com/lootgear) will provide PlayStation Home with an array of interactive Ghostbusters-branded items – such as figurines, t-shirts, costumes and more – in conjunction with the worldwide release of Ghostbusters on Blu-ray the week of June 16, 2009 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and the simultaneous launch of “Ghostbusters: The Video Game,” the highly anticipated videogame from Atari, celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary.

“Ghostbusters is one of our most popular franchises and, thematically, it was a natural fit for the social gaming world of PlayStation Home,” said David Sterling, VP of Business Development for Sony Pictures Digital Authoring Center and General Manager of Loot. “We’ve created an experience where fans can virtually participate in the movie environment.”

Starting today, Ghostbusters figurines – including mini-Stay Puft Marshmallow man, Slimer ghost, Ecto-1 car and ghost trap – go on sale individually or as a Fan Pack, followed by Ghostbusters regular and logo T-shirts and Ghostbusters Proton- Pack Costumes in the coming weeks. Among the products to be released is the Ghostbusters Firehouse On-Location, which is a replica of the three-story firehouse from the movie featuring a fireman’s pole, a full-size Ecto-1 car, a flying Slimer ghost and exclusive furniture as well interactive stage set cameras. With the purchase of the Firehouse, users get a bonus Stay Puft Marshmallow man costume head.

All of the Ghostbusters-branded interactive items, created by Loot and offered in conjunction with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, and selected by Sony Computer Entertainment America will be available for purchase in the coming weeks from the PlayStation Home Mall. Prices range from US$.49 to US$4.99.
The Stage set has been out for at least 2 weeks
I meant the new stage, which is the firehouse where the Ghostbusters work. Might not be on there yet but it is in the list of upcoming products.
Is the GB stuff only good with Machinima stuff or can you use elsewhere in Home?
No the GB items are for use for your apartment in Home so not just in the stage. Don't think they are the kind you can use outside of the apartment though.

Anyone else wish they were going to show E3 live via Home? They are going to reply it in the afternoon in the presentation area and give away items. Maybe it will be worth watching more then once because I can't wait until the afternoon to see it.
