The open beta is on schedule for release in Japan later this month. It'll then end at some point in November when, presumably, the actual real thing will be released.
Sony also announced that twenty four new publishers have signed up to create content for the service. It's a pretty exhaustive list of contributors, despite the lack of Square Enix. There's no indication as to whether they will also be creating content for the US and European. Hopefully we'll hear more of that before the Western release of the service, which should hit around the same time as Japan. The full list of new contributors for
