Sony Playstation Home - Gen. Discussion & Info - Open Beta Available Now

Hell yes!!! I just got my Home invite!!!

WELCOME TO HOME BETA

Dear PLAYSTATION®Network User,

Thank you for downloading the PLAYSTATION®Home Theme! You have been selected to help beta test the next phase of PlayStation®Home's evolution.

I am in amazement! I didn't think downloading that stupid theme would do anything. This is completely unexpected!
let me guess, ur a Qore subscriber.
No, I'm not. That's why I was totally floored. I even almost deleted the email without reading the subject because I'm so used to getting the worthless "PSN newsletters", but then I caught the word "Home" and almost fell out of my chair!

I don't know whether to take this as a sign that Home is about to open up a bunch more, or if I just got super lucky. But with the word being that Home will launch on 11/19, they've gotta be about ready to let more people in. That's my reasoning anyway.
i talked to a sony rep last night and she said there opening up and inviting ppretty much on fridays
English translation??

i called sony to ask a few questions about my ps3, and the rep started going on and on about how she is one of the few chick gamers that play litte big planet in her area. I mentioned to her about home, and she at first tried to tell me to email some guy, but i was like come on when am i going to get my invite. she told me that her manager said something about they usually send out invites on fridays. i asked her if you had to be a quore suscriber and she said buying an annual quore suscription will in no way increase your chances to get into the beta so i got her psn id and she is gong to play little big planet with me when i get the game

Man, I don't wanna piss anybody off, but I've gotta get my thoughts out after a day with Home. Home is freaking awesome!!! Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I had a hell of a fun time just running around and doing awkward stuff infront of people. Seriously, this is what The Sims Online SHOULD have been. 5-10 years down the road, this thing could basically be the freaking Matrix! Seriously!

You can do things that are socially unacceptable in real life. Nothing vulgar or hurtful, mind you, but just creepy things that are hysterically funny within the context of this world. I know Second Life has been around a while, but this is more user friendly. For instance, some chick was dancing up on top of a brick wall area, and I just walked my character over, and due to the wall, her ass was right at eye level. I just stood there, about a foot from her ass for like 5 minutes, as though I was at a strip club. Hilarious!

Another comical moment actually happened to me. I went into the theater to watch the Uncharted trailer. I sat down, in an empty row, with 2 seats on both sides of me. A couple minutes later, a guy walks up and sits in the seat directly next to mine. Instantly, real life thoughts kick in. "Does this guy have to sit right next to me?? There's plenty of empty seats! It's not even crowded in here!"

Then, I started wondering if he did it on purpose to see if I'd get up and move. As I was contemplating this, another guy walked in and took the seat on the other side of me. I just found that scenario to be hilarious. Can you imagine if there were bathrooms with urinals in Home? I seriously want to be able to kick a guy's ass for pissing too close to me! Things that are completely ridiculous in real life should be what Home is all about!

I played a few games of pool, bowling, and some of the arcade games. They all need some tightening up, but they're all fun. Pimping out your apartment and summer home is awesome! I just have a terrible feeling that once the official launch gets here, they're going to be charging real money for these items, and that would kill it for me. Sony has to recognize the difference between DLC and a new recliner for your pretend apartment.

Other than that though, this thing has the potential to be the best real life simulator ever made...and that's not even taking into account its strengths as an interface for the PS3. Meeting up with friends, making new ones, and launching random games is going to be really cool and easy. If Sony beefs this up properly, I could easily see it surpassing Xbox Live as an online community. I can't wait to see how this thing grows!

Even if this post is pure sarcasm, I love it.

Look at the HomeSpace for Far Cry 2 on the blog!

We can't trade beta keys? Then why do I see LBP and CoD5 beta keys littering the thread titles of numerous trade pages?

Cool , I didn't know there were Homespaces .
I thought there was just the main town square area .
There is the most potential for this stuff as it seems super detailed .

Does anyone know the code for the Uncharted door ? Or is it like the door in Chronicles of Riddick were it's just there for future use .

I created an avatar of/for my wife she seemed to be amused .
Then she asked if the new 'Animal Crossing' game was out .

Oh, there's already an Uncharted door?
I've seen pics of the Homespace for Uncharted but I don't think it's public (for the private beta users) yet.

It's really detailed, and even has a 2D arcade game that's a side-scrolling version of Uncharted (think Pitfall, looks like it too).

I also remember reading that you'd be able to walk the levels of Uncharted with your avatar for a kind of 'behind the scenes' demo of how the levels were made.
Or maybe that was Resistance...
Oh, and it's very unfair that Rich got in and not me. ;)
Shit , I've been in the PS Underground since '96 .
It's about time I got something that has some sort of exclusivity .

The last cool thing I got was a Playstation planner .

Hey me too man, still got those first year PS Underground 2-disc magazine things.

I did get a random shirt a few months ago. Ha.

Try buying a Qore sub , I think that's a huge factor .

Did you get that as well?
Really something I drew the line at.

But I really do bet it has a lot to do with the 'randomness' of their selections.

After hearing about all of the betas I had to . The PS3 demo scene is pretty lame , just a bunch of late 360 demos , or same day stuff I could care less about .

It almost seems as they are calling all of their demos betas so they can add perceived value and increased word of mouth .

The only 'random' betas going on are Home and Killzone 2.

Other than those, they're the same kind of demo/online stress tests of games that 360 does (halo3, cod4/5) that you get from signing up at certain sites or reserving the game.

I posted it a few pages back. I don't remember what it was off the top of my head, nor do I feel like looking for it. It may have been 24312. That's just for the door on the top right, though. I don't know about the others.

I meant betas period , LBP[RIP], Resistance 2 are out there as well .

See the 1st party trend there ?

Well yeah...Qore = Live Gold...but cheaper.

I think the only connection to Home that Warhawk has right now is being able to gather a party in your apartment and launch into an online match from Home. There's supposed to be a Warhawk space coming if it's not already out.

Yes, but those weren't about being in Qore.
You got those codes through various websites, or by reserving the game.

If those games get a real demo, they'll be released like most demos, a couple weeks, or one week before release.

See: Mortorstorm: Pacific Rift, and upcoming Valkyria Chronicles.
