Sony Playstation Home - Gen. Discussion & Info - Open Beta Available Now

Rules of Attraction is about patrick's brother sean bateman. Supposedly patrick is in the book but he only gets mentioned in the movie for a second. The stories aren't connected though. AP is definitely better.

fuck the movie. Give me the real shite every time. I will be sure to check it out soon. And for anyone who enjoyed AP, the book kills it by a million miles. Seriously no comparison. The book makes the movie seem like Little Mermaid.

Home is just.... boring. I mean, what's the point?

My girl got me Too Fat to Fish for X-Mas... looking forward to reading it.

Hmm.
Interesting that they can make them bonuses like this.
I wonder when games themselves will start to give out bonuses.

That seems like a stupid way to do it. The costumes should come with all copies as a means of getting those people to at least try out Home if they haven't.

Hm, KZII is like the last pre-order game I have left on amazon. I would love to cancel it since amazon's lack of price protection is cheese dick in a box, but I might have to keep it for those outfits.

Ugh.

I'm reading Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Thomas Friedman. Excellent so far and I've agreed with everything he's had to say. I don't recommend reading this book if you have strong conservative views.
Back on topic: Who is reading a good book right now?
Haha way to keep it rolling. I just picked up Moneyball by Michael Lewis @ Salvation Army for 2 bucks. Bout to jump into that

Thomas Friedman is rad

I'm not suprised by this ...

Jack Buser, director of Home, was kind enough to join us for this podcast. He let Fahey, Adam and I drop in to his surprisingly stark virtual home on the Playstation 3 were he talked about the future of the free virtual world and surprised all of us by saying there's a good chance it will remain in beta indefinitely.

I just spotted this , so I haven't watched it yet .
I thought that was the plan.
For it to be ever growing and changing.
What?

It doesn't need to remain in beta for eternity so that it can be "ever growing and changing."
I feel like Sony is trying to use "beta" here as justification for why it's so empty.

SCEE, but perhaps.

Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 by HST

I started it like a year ago and after 100 pages or so I lost the time so I've just picked it up again recently.

Legacy of Ashes by Tim Weiner

Hmm. Should I preorder to get those Home outfits, or preorder KZ2 from Gamestop to get access to the demo? There's no way they wouldn't put the demo up for everyone, though, but I don't like how you don't get the game from Amazon right away (right?). I'd rather just go pick it up from Gamestop!

Haven't been in Home for a while. Are there CAG parties on there or anything? A club should be able to rent their own bowling alley and have a tournament!

A while back I used to be into electric RC kit cars -- the kind you have to put together yourself. So, last week or so, I decided to see what the latest and greatest technology is. As it turns out, brushless electric motors seem to be the new hot shit. And instead of motors being mounded in the rear, they're positioned more towards the center of the chassis. I suspect this was done for balance reasons.

Also Home.
I tried this when I got my PS3. This is stupid. My character looks really creepy (AND FOR THE RECORD: I AM GORGEOUS)

:nottalking:
LIES! It's just like staring into a mirror :O..... I'm not that fat...

Couldn't it be creepy and gorgeous?

Yeah the skull/head shape presets are completely outlandish. I can't imagine anyone picking one and going "Yeah, that's it!" They look like cro-magnum aliens.

They need to, you know, have actual CONTENT in there. A Home space for Resistance 2 at launch would have been nice. It's easy to go in there and say "this is pointless" because it is, because there's nothing in there.

Home is like a freakshow. I actually like it because I log into it and watch a whole bunch of nerds swarm girl avatars and get their swirl on. Yesterday I saw a couple arguing over something and it was simply fascinating. Home can be fun if you let it be, but otherwise, it's boring if you are expecting something in particular.
