I never get why the collectors edition bonus discs have gameplay trailers on them. You ALREADY HAVE THE FRICKEN GAME WHY DO YOU NEED GAMEPLAY TRAILERS?

The useful gameplay trailers show just how much the gameplay/game has evolved since the trailer was first released. It's just for interest sake, it's not meant to do anything else.

Of course, if you wanted the premium edition of any games,chances are that you've already seen every trailer they put out for free, so...
 
they are selling LE, and doing midnight release, where as GS is not

Do you think the Limited Edition guide will be as hard to find as the MGS4 LE guide? It is currently out of stock temporarily at Amazon but it's showing up in my gold box. I wonder if I should pull the trigger. The soundtrack CD included in the LE guide seems appealing but not sure how complete a soundtrack CD or just a sampler it actually is.

The MGS4 guide wasn't hard to find at all for the first few weeks, hell two Best Buys I frequent still have a few copies.

None of the SC LE guides have really gone up in value, so I'd say probably not. That said, I thew in the LE guide on an order that put me over $50 so I could use the Bill Me Later $10 discount. I have all the other SC LE guides, and couldn't pass up completing the set for $10. :)
 
Has anyone SCIV from amazon shipped yet, I marked that release day bubble which is tomorrow but haven't get any notification that it has shipped. I should get my HORI stick today and would hope to get the game tomorrow. Anyone in the same boat?

Damn. I could've picked up Soul Calibur IV today... I just called GameCrazy, and they said they have it in stock. They'll call pre-order people tomorrow, and those who pre-ordered will get faceplates.

Looks like I should have just enough time to pick mine up tomorrow morning before I have to catch my flight. Excellent!

Well, they might mean that they have them, but they might not break street date and sell it to you.
 
found out that blockbuster got thier shipment of SC4 today but they obiviously cant sell it yet or else they would get fined.

As I posted in the other thread, those of you looking to get the faceplates at GC, good luck. They are in very limited supply and my store received shirts to give away once we run out of faceplates. My store received 5 Yoda faceplates and 5 generic SC4 faceplates and we had well over 30 preorders. We did not receive the limited edition version yet so I can't comment on it being a steelbook or not.

I did snag this picture of the Yoda faceplate though. My phone was dying so I couldn't get a shot of the generic SC4 faceplate but it's blue. I'm sure there's a pic on ebay

Uh, yeah. They've been in stock since Friday. Hollywood Video has had them since last Wednesday. Doesn't mean they can be sold/rented out, though
 
Yikes, that is one ugly looking faceplate. Kudos to you getting it for free, but not something that I would pay for.

Great, I have to get to gamecrazy at like 6am since it opens at 10. Im getting two of the damn yoda face plates regardless.

I know the asshole employees took a few of them as well.

This is crap.. Im never pre ordering at gamecrazy again.

Yeah they definitely are getting them. I had to change the pre-order from the normal to the LE last week when I found out that they were going to get them.

This will also depend on your GR/BB. Mine had the LE for GTA4 also for both systems but if they don't preorder it they might not get them at all. If its a GR they will usually order 1 or 2 over time or if you asked them.

It's not like we know ahead of time. The little memo we get does say you're guaranteed a faceplate. When we get the box in and there's like five in there, it's a big kick in the pants. Don't get me started on the Metal Gear Solid "Solid Snake Bandanna" fiasco. Oh god, that sucked.

Really moral -_-V employees like that screw over good people. I shouldnt have to freaking befriend some virgin just to get a damn faceplate I was promised. Thats freaking stupid.
 
My gamestop gave me 3 eternal sonata faceplates. Only 3 people preordered it.
They didnt horde them to themselves. Thats why I am in love with my Gamestop; theyre honest GAMERS. You walk in, theyll talk about the game you're buying. They'll even warn you if it sucks (red steel lol)

My ex gf's GS on the other hand....LOL, they all take dibs on preorder bonsues!

What's with the stereotyping? The employees at my store get their pick of one because they're picking up the game. No pick up, no faceplate, simple as that. If the thing's limited, it goes to loyal customers. If there's a bunch of random preorders, first come, first serve. I'd prefer that it wasn't limited, I hate it when it is, but demand often exceeds supply and there's not really much we can do from behind the counter.

If I know that a customer really wants it, I will hold it for them. For instance, I had a guy come in twice this week asking about a t-shirt and the PS3 skin, so naturally, I set aside a shirt and skin for him. It's as simple as that. I'm on your side, I don't let anyone get it that didn't preorder it, but if an employee has it preordered and picks it up, they have every right to pick up the preorder bonus gift as you do.

Yeah, it sucks, but you can't say that you don't have some sort of perk where you work.

If there's any left over, I will get one for you. I doubt there will be, but I'm just throwing out the offer. It may not be the Yoda one, but I'll get whatever's left, if anything

And at my Gamestop, they "gave away" my ES faceplate accidently, even when I went in their a week earlier and placed a huge white piece of paper taped to it with my name. Im still pretty bitter about that GS, they usually have the good stash of used games too so Im still forced to walk in evey now and then
 
I pre-ordered lego indy, one of one person who did... and I didn't get my shirt. They offered me DBZ swag instead. I cancelled my pre-order and told them that this was the second time it has happened. Im still bitter about that, myself.

As for the Gamecrazy deal, the one here is giving out skins after their faceplates are gone.

? There's no skins for the 360 version, the only skins are for the PS3 version.

I wish you had let me know about the Lego Indiana Jones bit, I had an extra shirt a few weeks ago.
 
Well, I'm going to pick up the Limited Edition Soul Calibur IV at Game Crazy, I know the guys there but not too well. If I get faceplate/swag, yay for me. If not, better luck next time I guess.
 
Its up at best buy now, unfortunately its backordered.
Its also unavailable at all stores in my area, but I wonder if thats just because they havent opened yet today.

I thought so as well, but they were handing out skins with 360 copies. I'm guess they had more ps3 skins than pre-orders, so just gave them out as well. *shrug*

And yeah, GS pulled that with the ES faceplate too. Only reason I gave them a second chance was because I was leaving the country the next day... so wanted to pick up my pre-order before I left. I think they also "lost" my nephew's Pokemon Diamond stylus as well. Deep down, I know the employee just hoards it all and eBays it.
 
Get a picture of the Soul Calibur skin if you can. Maybe they're just handing out PS3 skins. We got more PS3 skins than pre-orders.

Its just been a bad day. Im not stereotyping, but the asshole blatently tells me "yeah youll get one, youre on the top of the list", and now its first come first serve. What the hell is the point of reserving it then?

Its just garbage.. I worked at gamestop too.. all the employees took the swag BUT ME, I never took home crap unless I reserved the game. The employees at my store HOARDED everything, they took everything, we had over 100+ pokemon diamond/pearl reservations, and outta the 40+ pre order bonuses that went out, maybe 4 people got them. The rest they put on ebay.

or the lost planet figurine? 2 people outta 20 that reserved them.. we had over 30 extra figurines. They were all on ebay within three days.

Its stupid. My job has great perks, but not in the way that gamestores get. I loved working there, but too many people abuse the jobs.

When Im directly told by the employee Ill get one, and I dont, and instead have to get there at 8am two hours before open just for a CHANCE to get one, when its final week at the university I attend, it doesnt sit well with me.

The worst part is, its not even for me. My little brothers birthday is today, I reserved it for him cuz all he wants is the damn YODA faceplate. Thats it. I ordered two copies, one for me, one for him. I Was either gonna ebay or keep mine, and give one to him since its his birthday :(
 
So I get an email this morning from Amazon telling me that the game shipment has been delayed and it's in the processing of shipping today. Oh, and I did the release date shipping. So much for that idea. I was thinking of keeping the Amazon Prime had this worked, but it's turning out to be a fiasco. Good thing I had a backup plan of pre-ordering the game at my local Gamestop too. B&M ftw, online ftl.

Prime>any retail establishment. The deals to be had on Amazon far outweigh impatience imo.

That's funny.

I ordered an Action Replay DS + a DVD for my dad from amazon on July 21st and I've still yet to get the package.

I called last night and flipped out and they gave me an automatic $10 off my next purchase promotion. But, I still don't have my package and it's been over a week.

Amazon is full of screw up's I guess.

Also, still debating on if I should get this game or not. I've heard COMPLETELY mixed reviews. IGN gave it an 8.7, 1UP gave it an "A".

If I feel compelled to get it today, I may go down to best buy and snag a premium edition for that nice $69.99 price tag that I also printed off the site in case they try to change it.

How is that mixed? An 8.7 is a very good score. Yet again we see the perception that 0.5 of a point makes a huge difference in people's perception of whether it is a good game or not.
