Bestbuy.com has the CE for $59.99 WITH a 500 rewardzone point bonus. So, you'll ultimately get the game for $49.99(including the $10 rewardzone bonus). I may cancel at GS and pick this deal up, it cannot be picked up in store however. I think this is a pricing error on the site, get it while its hot!

You pay $59 and will get $10 back later, still counts! You don't use the RZ card for payment(don't know if that confused anyone)
How much do you pay the cashier when you go buy the game using a RZ card?
$59.99.

The first post is slightly misleading because it's actually $59.99 + a $10 gift card (if you're an rewardzone member).

Eggzactly.
Oh yea... it seems like you can no longer order it off the website so it's doubtful if this will be honored in store tomorrow.
Good thing I got my order in, hopefully it doesn't get canceled. I'd be a sad panda.

Sorry it was misleading, I will however pop in here in a little bit with information on the in store price as soon as I find out.
Is the 500 pts only for pre-order? From BB's site:
Splinter Cell Conviction: 500 Bonus Points

Pre-order the highly anticipated espionage title Splinter Cell Conviction for Xbox 360 or PS3.
Offer ends 4/12/10.

If so, the system won't allow me to order the CE version, and the offer ends today! :bomb:
if you login to your reward zone account and look at the gamers club offers, it says you can get 500 pts if you buy the game from 4/13-4/17.

damn i wish i would have read this earlier, freakin Amazon already shipped my CE and they still charged full price for it. i might just return it and go for this!
i can confirm that the in store price will be $59.99 according to the system at the store
Thanks.. looks like I'll be at Best Buy right when it opens.

No, you get the RZ points from the 13th through the 17th or so.(I think I read on the RZ site that it was through the 17th)

Finch you are the best! thanks for confirming that in-store price. Taking away the hassle is going to make this so much better!

No problem, I'll be right there when it opens as well. If for any reason the price isn't the same I won't understand why, in the system its priced $59.99 and I'll be upset myself lol.

uh-oh, the link in the OP doesn't work.."Sorry Page Not Find" haven't manually checked yet.

Finch, when you get to work and if you have time to do a quick post, can you give an average of how many copies you guys have and the stores around you? no problem if you can't, thanks for looking out! great thread, I'm 5-starring it now :D

and all you haters saying why pay full retail, I already see the significance savings of the original price, now factored down by, what $20? on top of that the $10 cert you will get in 45 days..so $50 for a launch day CE..doesn't get any better than that. If there are low quantities, there won't be time to wait for a price drop.

I just got back from BB and they are indeed advertising the CE for $59.99. The RE has a sticker that says there is a BB pre-order sc3000 bonus but the CE doesn't. I spoke to them and was told that if the CE doesn't have it, to come back and they will work something out

CE or not, I don't think I could justify $60 for a five hour campaign. Especially since I'd prefer it on PC, but about that. . .

I got an email from bestbuy last night about this. I had preorded the ce edition.

Cool C.E. drops to 20 ill buy 3 more

I saw how many we had last night, we were sent 8. I was there at open today to pick mine up and paid $59.99. There were 5 behind customer service(store pickup) and there was 1 on the shelf, which I grabbed.

I guess the other 2 were in the back because the game was in the big clear plastic security boxes, and it filled the spot for it with the one game ansd another wouldn't have fit.

But yes, as others have said, in store price is $59.99 and is marked on the shelf accordingly, so get there early because its no secret once you're inside.

I just don't get the misinformation. It's like saying MW2 is too much for a 7 hour campaign.

I mean there are actually two full campaigns in the game plus other modes. How do people not understand that?

I think some people just dont' care about the other modes. Like for me and MW2 for example the only thing I really cared for in the game was spec-ops mode. The campaign was alright but I didn't really care at all for the MP. There are some out there that would buy it if that's all it was, MP online only where others (like myself) don't even factor it into the "equation". That's my guess anyway.

Went into bestbuy at 10:30 today and saw about 5 copies of the CE on a shelf - I picked up 3 copies and am still waiting to fin out about my online order. They charged my card but my status says back-ordered. Anyone know why they would charge my CC when it's back-ordered?

Funny because until my brother in law dragged me in I couldn't have cared less about the spec ops mode. Then I found out it was a blast.

I'm somewhat sympathetic to people not wanting to pay for modes they don't want. We'll probably start seeing them sold cart blanche, just hopefully without too much price gauging.

They probably charged your card and then it became back ordered, or they charged and you'll get one first shipment. I'm not sure. About the CE, my usb card works, it's just blank. Bummer.

and WTH do you need 3 copies?

no offense, but this is the reason why people who don't have the opportunity to rush out "right now" to get the game aren't able to get a copy later. foreal, be generous

I just got back from my local Best Buy in Chicago and got the CE for 66.14. Before i got in the line i checked the price at the computers they have there and it was listed for 59.99 so i told a worker and he said they will change it. So i goto ring out and let the girl know about its and she said i should have got a print out to make it easier, but she scaned it and it came out to 59.99.

$59.99 confirmed. This is the worst CE ever. Mine didn't come with a comic book, and I had to YouTube on how to even open the USB credit card.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc6ppgpzJgQ

Also, my work PC doesn't read it. Some people it reads, but is just empty. Some say there's only 5 megs of space on it. Some say it doesn't work at all. I may as well have bought "Splinter Cell Conviction: Bodega on the Corner Edition." LOL at this anomaly.

Ninja EDIT: Mine works. I plugged it in upside down. If you're facing your USB port the correct way, turn the thing upside down and let the contacts face upwards. Mine works at 508 megs, but has no data on it haha.

yeah I'm that way about world at war for nazi zombies mode. All I wanted was that mode and the maps, yet I gotta buy all these other maps I'm never even going to use. I know they have been on sale but I don't get DLC for a game until I get it and know I like it. Too late now but just saying I agree.
For friends or family for the same reason you just mentioned?
I do apologize, I respect that. I don't respect buying them up then hiking the prices on amazon marketplace or ebay.

Also, I didn't get the comic book either lol! The drive says 509mb of space, but it's blank. Thursday they'll put the contents of the drive on the site, and I'll transfer them myself. I did get 2 different inserts with weapon codes.

The comic book is on the USB drive

Wow, that thing looks so ghetto it's a no wonder half of them are defective. GFG.

Went in at 10am this morning and they had 1 CE sitting on the shelf at BB. Picked it up with :ps3: Episodes from Liberty City. They had a corporate printout sign posted on the very first gaming isle that said something like "Splinter Cell: Conviction Collector's Edition has an error with the USB drive included, so we have decided to price this item at $59.99 for the error."

Opened mine, and the USB drive is read by my computer, there just isn't anything on it. Also has 508 MB worth of space to fill.

Womp womp. This may be my Favorite steelbook since Chaos Theory however, it has no text, just the entrance and exit bullet holes.

Inside the case is the USB, 2 stickers (Third Echelon and Bullet Holes), the manual, a Ghost Recon Beta invite, and a weapon code insert. The Art book covers all 5 games.
The comic book is on the USB drive
yeh I think everybody got confused thinking that the comic was an actual comic but in fact it was always a digital comic, not a real one

Thanks for the clear up. At least I don't have to exchange it now. I plan to just download all the crap it was supposed to come with, put it on the flash drive, then never touch it again. All i cared about was the DLC + Steelbook anyway, but it's nice to know that it was at least complete.

I copied and deleted some files from my USB stick as well (508mb free).
