Welcome. I just moved to STL about two months ago myself.

It appears we have a new electronics retailer in town once the store opens up, sometime soon in the next 1-2 months or so.

HH Gregg is now in the St. Louis area. They're building a store out in Chesterfield Valley out beside Amini's off of the main road for Chesterfield Valley. I drove out that way today and noticed that they have signage up on the outside of the store, so I would think they're 1-2 months out from opening. They're also looking for sales associates, who can supposedly make "up to $30 / hr" working for them.

Website for them is at http://www.hhgregg.com/. Basically, they're a Best Buy-type electronics retailer and have claim to fame for accepting Circuit City gift cards for equivalent value when Circuit City was out of business.

Except that they're God awful. We had them back in GA. Expect terrible prices on TV's and virtually no gaming presence at all. I honestly don't know how the chain continues to see enough success to stay in business, let alone open new stores. There is absolutely nothing special about them.

I saw the following at the Best Buy in Brentwood...

:360::ps3: El Shaddai $9.99
:360: Record of Agarest War Zero LE $19.99 [I took one and there's one left in one of those big plastic boxes in pristine condition.]
:ps3: House of the Dead Overkill Extended Cut $15
:ps3: No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise $15

They're in the Gravois Bluffs in Fenton also. They took over the old Linens' N Things building.
they are across from the Costco in st peters at the old ultimate electronics building too
Really? That's right up the street from me and I've literally never heard of them.

Just looked on their website and it doesn't look like they have a store there. I guess their website could be wrong?

The four stores aren't open yet, so that might be why.

The one in Sunset Hills? Or the one next to South County Mall? If it's Sunset, there's always been a Walmart there, it may just be expanding to a Super one to carry groceries, etc. I doubt they would bulid one at South County Mall since they have one just 3-5 minutes away on Telegraph that's a brand new Super.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they built one by South County Mall. The one on Telegraph is one of the busiest/craziest Wal-Marts I've ever seen mainly because it pulls people in from both sides of the river. Building one near South County Mall would connect it to 2 highways and I think it would definitely draw in enough new traffic without cannibalizing the other store too bad.

Does seem like it would be really close, but I agree that that Telegraph store is always a madhouse no matter what time of day you go in. Most WM's are pretty ridiculous, but you can usually not be too crowded if you go in at like 2AM. Not that one. It's like there is a contest going on to see how long they can keep that place at max capacity.

They're not going to add another one, as there's one at 44 & Lindbergh in Sunset Hills, in Fenton at Gravois Bluffs and the one on Telegraph. That's three Walmarts within 5-7 miles of one another. Maybe 4, if there's one out by 55 & 141 in Arnold.

That's enough Walmarts in that area. They can't support another one, plus there's no place for one in the area.

Nearest Walmart to all of that in IL would be the one in Waterloo on Rt. 3.

Sometimes it's better to go to the one in Sunset Hills because it's not as busy at the one on Telegraph. The one in Fenton can get a bit busy because it gets traffic from Fenton and the surrounding area in Gravois Bluffs.

Drove by a couple days ago, I can confirm that an HH Gregg is being built next to the Costco in St. Peters.

Supposed to be a Wal-Mart coming in Florissant but they are trying to build it on unzoned land, doubtful it will ever go up.

el hoardo destroyed every game that is on sale at the SoCo BB. They must have had 50 copies of some games like madden when I was in there yesterday and there was nothing -- every 9.99 and 4.99 game was barren.

I love that sometimes if I try to buy two copies of one game there it requires half the store getting involved, but apparently they let somebody buy 30 copies of madden. I wish they would apply their rules evenly, you know.

I've started to just use store pick-up because I hate it when I get to a Best Buy and the item I want isn't there. I was able to get everything I wanted (except Tron CE because I didn't order first thing this morning) from SoCo by using in store pick-up.

If you're looking for the 360 version, it's still available online and shipping is free.

Are you sure they didn't just move it? Mid Rivers had pulled everything from the shelves, and put it on an unmarked end cap. I was super pissed that they didn't have Madden this morning at 11:15...only to find out that they in fact had 3 copies left on this end cap.

Some dude in front of me did buy the only Ass Creed Brotherhood CE. I'm not sure if it was part of the sale however.

I don't think so... It's not on the list, but it has been on sale for $30.

I was in the South County Best Buy today picking up my online order and they had copies of Madden 12 for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The Xbox 360 version is with the Xbox 360 games and the Playstation 3 version is on an end cap by the Kinect Display.

Man. The Best Buy over near St. Charles Rock Road is just awful. I had planned on picking up Twisted Metal, but they only have photocopies of the box out on the shelves. After waiting nearly 10 minutes up at the register to have no one show up to get the game out of some secure area, I gave up and left.

Fenton BB is out of Amalur, and out of most of the $5/$10 games, except for a bunch of Madden, some copies of Sin & Punishment, Price Is Right, Steel Diver, & SOCOM 4.

There is a Super Walmart in Arnold, its about 2 blocks down from where 141 ends by Chic Fil A on what locals call "Magic Food Island" b/c of the higher end fast food places there.

A Super Walmart, and new GS, is being built in Festus. WM corporate already closed the smaller WM in High Ridge.

I worked there for about 2 years, it's a truly terrible staff. I worked at one in Seattle for about 3 years and it was a great place.

My friend and I were visiting StL this past weekend for a Cards game and RAW 1000 and in the downtime we decided to hit up a bunch of the Best Buys in the area to see what they had. Got a few decent deals :)ps3: Record of Agarest War Zero LE for $20, and :360: Tron CE -- which is trash, but whatever, my son loves the happy meal toy-esque light cycle lol) and didn't see much else. I'm used to having a few Best Buy stores around the metro, but wow, you guys have a million Best Buys in that area. We didn't have time to hit them all, but we hit the majority.

Also on Monday we encountered some possible CAGs that were deal hunting in the same Best Buys that we hit in a row. Wanted to say something but it was getting close for us to hit the hotel before RAW.

And you know, the funny thing is, that they were supposed to have a big focus on giving a great game experience, like they were looking for "game experts" to hire and everything, that was their big strategy, I don't think it ever materialized though.

I go to rock rd one most of the time and while it isn't the best store, its closest to my house and I always find what I need. Usually if I need a game guy at the counter I just tell the person that is sitting by the door when I walk in and they page someone who is right there by the time I get back there

Pre-Owned ($19.99 or less, excludes game systems) Buy One, Get One Free @ Vintage Stock with Coupon (7/31-8/2)

I think they send you these coupons if you're on their mailing list.

Oh snap. I am on their mailing list but I have yet to get anything. Is the coupon pretty generic? Would love to use it to grab some SNES games I've been eyeing.

I'm not sure if its a single use coupon or not... I'll try to use it today and see if I can post it.

Same. I used one today to get Parasite Eve and a NES Zapper. It does seem to be a generic re-usable coupon.

Have at it! :bouncy:

Nice. I picked up dkc2 and Kirby's dream course. Slim pickings though...
Go to Bodach's Games in Arnold, don't go to that trashy store. :)
How are the prices/selection? That's a pretty far drive for me personally, but I'd be willing to try it once.

I made it over to Trade N Games a few weeks back and wasn't too impressed with it. Prices were about as good as V-Stock/eBay for older titles.

I've been there once and I really liked it. I've been meaning to go back to get them to make me an NES Lamp. :bouncy:

www.bodachsgames.com

The website only shows a bit of the selection, mainly higher end stuff.

I'd say he has a couple hundred 360 games, about 50-100 each of PS3 & Wii, tens of GameCube, hundreds of ps2 & XBox 1, 100 + Genesis & SNES, hundreds of NES, tens of Saturn, Sega CD, & 3DO, and a limited amount of Dreamcast & DVD's.

He recently bought a collection of tons of NES, SNES, Saturn, and some Sega CD/3DO. Highlights were Panzer Dragoon Saga, Bonk's Adventure NES, Action 52 (cart is playable but has vertical lines during gameplay,) & a boxed Night Trap.

The new GS in Festus is actually on the Crystal City side of the Festus/Crystal City city line right off I-55 in the Aldi's strip with a 63028 zip code. It's a bigger store than Farmington, basically the same size as outside South County Mall.

We have a new Family Video opening on the rock road in St. Ann soon, does anyone know if they tend to carry a decent game selection to rent? I haven't had a good place since that blockbuster in the same location closed down (yes I've tried gamefly, it's terrible for anything remotely new).
