Right there with you.

Of course I'll just go right on and buy them all anyway. :headache:
Hal,

You need help. We're worried about you. You need to join bro nights more so you can play more and spend less. Well except when we pressure you to fakeybro games or buy shitty bundle games for bro nights. But still, it's like a little help. Maybe.

I don't really care if I never experience the Dark Souls world. I'm sure it's lovely and well done but, again, there's a kajillion other worlds out there in Gaming Land for me to explore so I don't need to whine about Souls-Town being gated by its difficulty.

Plus, as I recall, it was all "You have to mod this so it doesn't look like shit".

In other news, my kid was playing DA: Inquisition so I finished my second run to sort of play along (parenting!). He never played the earlier games so sometimes I'd explain a little about who Morrigan was or the Temple of Sacred Ashes, etc. That sort of makes me want to play Origins again which is terrible because I'll sink another hundred hours into it and I have too much other stuff to play.
Different sort of game but I figure if I want a Japanese take on a gritty grimy western RPG-ish game I've got Dragon's Dogma and all the nekkid pawns in the void lobby for that.

Origins at least has a skip the fade mod, though I feel like it needs a skip the 90% of the slog mod. I suppose that's called Youtube though.

Does anyone know a place to buy cheap laptop RAM?  I mean, the one I need isn't super expensive on Newegg, but if there's a place with bargains to be had let me know!

I am seriously on the fence about this. I have a Dark Souls key in my Amazon account that I've had sitting there unredeemed for quite some time, as I've tried to figure out whether I even want to try it. I should probably just find a used copy of Demon's Souls for PS3 somewhere, try it, hate it, and get rid of that key once and for all.

I have reached 1400 games on Steam. :)

GooCublets 2 from IndieGala Giveaway gave me #1400.

And I didn't realize that, until I looked at my Steam-game count.

Considering I will put, buy, add games on other platforms besides Steam - i.e. GoG, B-Net, Origin, UPlay, Desura, Retail, Gamersgate, etc - yeah, I think I'm doing alright w/ my Steam game-count. My Steam-count certainly leads the pack of game-counts for me.

Surely, I won't have nearly as many Steam-games as those who buy almost every bundle or every bundle in existence and/or make sure they almost only buy Steam.-versions.

EDIT:

Would be interesting to add-up all my games, across all PC platforms - but, I don't feel like it.

you probably have more rhinestones on one of your skating vests than I do steam games. So you got me there.

That's some weird logic right there. Why not redeem the Dark Souls key right now and try it out rather than get a used copy of a different game for a console? Dark Souls isn't worth that much anyway, maybe a few dollars resell value.

The rest of us have a bunch games at all those places too. We just don't count them.

You have more Steam games than Blizzard games?

+1 GOG takes -1 off your Steam count.

Seriously, it's not a thing. But I'll forgive you because yer You're a peein' and it's in the EU charter that you all pledge allegiance to GOG.

I've given up on the +1 game.  I figure that for every ten shitty $2 bundles I pass on, I can buy a game I'll actually play with less guilt.  I picked up the latest Bundlestars one but that's the first bundle I've bought in a couple months.

Plus, with Valve's increasingly dick moves towards card farming/selling I can't even be bothered to say "Sure, but I'll make 11¢ in card money!" anymore.

I've been in a similar mindframe for about a year or so. It's better for me. I do tend to still buy the occasional IG for like $1 to get one or two shitty zombie/horror games, but my days of buying every bundle and +1ing shit I will never even want to play are long gone. I'm waiting for the next Humble Indie though so I can restock on my Tremor coins because that helps me cherry pick games even more.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is today's daily at 67% off. I think the chances of it being part of the Humble Monthly (or a main Humble) just increased dramatically...

can you "HB monthly" it so that I can "HB indie" it a few weeks later? :D/

I never understood the allure of +1.  I've always just dumped games from bundles I knew I had zero interest in.  Then again, who am I?  I only have 531 games on Steam, basically no one in these parts.

The gotta catch 'em all feeling was stronger, though, before Steam opened the floodgates for all the crap tier titles in the world.

Anyone get the frys email looks like the Alienware i3 860m machine with Xbox controller is 179 in store if you can find one
Yeah all the 179 and 299 (base model) were all sold out in my area but tempted to pick up the 449 model with 25% off with promo code.

i5/8GB/1TB...comes out to 363.xx with tax. I was hoping to spend less then $300 for the base model but $64 extra bucks for a brand new one with upgrades don't sound too bad

Thanks for the heads up!

At one point back when Steam had standards I genuinely would tell myself I might want to get around to playing it someday. Now that Greenlight, Poopees and Gleam have taken a huge ass green toxic disease infected explosive diarrhea putrid dump all over Steam's Quality Control it's more out of habit/addiction/peer pressure/fear of getting y u no bai'ed.

I used to use the cards money as an excuse, but it's so pathetically low coupled with so many hoops to jump and requiring multiple extra programs that I can't really even use that excuse anymore.

Even I have my limits though. Like Poopees surprise Greenlight bundles or buying shit on GOG.

I'll be careful in giving GabeN hints, but I'd probably pay a subscription fee (a small one, less than Netflix monthly) if it actually did quality control and got some more premium content (free DLC, free game trials on everything in the catalog, etc.) for your payment. I have 20% of my library hidden just because it's a glut of trash that has me going "why'd I buy that?"

Just remove everything from your account like Carl does

People buy the Witcher 3 because they actually want to play it. It's not some Unity asset flip or RPG Maker paint by the numbers if this were 1992 game from a Poopees Bundle.

A +1 is a game that literally the only value it has to you is to increase your game count. and maybe cards but they're barely even worth it at this point
