Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is a daily deal on Steam. Never heard of this before, but I want it. You just watch the ducks float.

Update: I went back and forth so many times, buy the base game, buy the full bundle, or don't buy it at all. I ended up getting the full bundle, I like it. You really do almost nothing. But it's relaxing and in a way satisfying to see what the next duck is like and if it does anything special. Seeing how cool some of the DLC ducks are, I'm glad I didn't only get the base game.

Goodbye to the 2K Launcher Junk.

2K Games is completing Sunsetting the 2K Launcher junk across Steam and Epic on ALL of the games that used it:
-> https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/34845053169939--2K-Launcher-Complete-Sunset

Some games that once used it included Sid Meier's Civilization 5, Mafia Definitive Trilogy, XCOM 2 & Chimera Squad, and all of the BioShock Remastered Collection games.

Didn't they just insert it into most of those games barely a year or two ago and manage to break steam deck functionality in the process? Or was that some other company that did something equally stupid.

About two years ago, yep - https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/...launcher-calling-it-a-quality-of-life-update/

Probably w/ the Steam Deck (Linux-based OS) being a hit and w/ 2K porting more of their games all over the place to Steam, GOG, and Epic - yeah, makes no sense to have this launcher; especially if they don't have a digital storefront of their own.

Yeah, it was a retarded program that usually made games run worse. It did for Xcom2 and Midnight Suns. At least with Xcom2 you could still use the modder made "alternative launcher".

Anyone know how worthwhile the DLC for Like A Dragon 7 is? The Legendary Hero Edition is basically at an all time low price on Fanatical. So that's paying about $6.23 Canadian extra to get all the DLC vs buying just the base game.

I fell off bc it got grindy. So I would say the dlc that gives you status bonuses is worth it. Really liked the game but didn't have time for leveling.

I don't know WHY you'd want it, but Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is 95% off for both versions:

Even at $5 I don't think I'll bite on that Deluxe Edition, but figured I'd mention it in case someone here cares about it. LOL

Worth it.

Not worth it.

I finally did Wishlist triage. I was nearing 600 items. That's not realistic, so I've taken the past week, here and there, to delete stuff that is likely never coming out, in early access hell, sequels to games I haven't played yet, and "passing fancies." I kept things I definitely want, sequels to games I enjoyed, and games with demos I distinctly remember. This means I'm going to be way more picky about my demos in the future and giving a lot more weight to aesthetic choice, since its very easy to find games you both enjoy playing and enjoy looking at with the volume of stuff coming out.

A lot of the stuff I cut would be great bundle titles, but if I never remembered them, then likely I can live without them, too.

After that, not much on deep enough sale for me to bite. With over 2000 games now, and likely the price of everything going up in ye olde US of A, I think 2025 should be a backlog bonanza. Hope y'all are staying sane out there and don't get mulched by the throngs of masses...

Who am I kidding, most folks won't be spending or lining up this year...

Also, new subclasses coming to BG3. Guess I can go back in for a fifth, or is it sixth, playthrough?

Autumn sale is on Steam. There are free stickers for going through your discovery queue but it didn't work for me on mobile, it worked on desktop though.
It isn't scaling correctly for me on Chrome and an ultra wide monitor, so I just rushed through the queue without doing thumbs up/down or anything. Just stickers is kind of lame, but eh it's something.

I also need to do a wish list cleansing as I have lots of meh to garbo on it along with stuff stuck in never releasing/EA hell.

Ok, I bought FFXVI Complete for $44.62 ($5.35 cash back)
and then used the 3% code on Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart at $25.32 ($3.04 cash back)

Is there any way to determine what game is tied to my gmg mystery key? All steam will tell me is that I already own the product.

What did you manage to get it down to? Mine's been around 500 for some time now and I've tried to purge here and there, but haven't taken a deep dive into culling the list.

Around 100.

Axing stuff with no release date and no news updates were the first to go.

Then I sorted by date added and worked from oldest to newest. If it's been on my list for years, more so if it's a sequel to a game I haven't yet played, I removed it.

Then I removed stuff that wasn't unique. If it was "another one of those," like another indie boomer shooter or RPGmaker RPG, I axed them because I already have plenty I should try/play first.

The newest stuff, I axed anything I couldn't remember playing the demo. I look at the game in motion and reviews, focusing on the negative ones. If I found the negatives to be not something that bothered me, it could stay. If it's something that might bother me, it goes.

I figure if it's something I really wanted to play, it'll come back to me. Either from a bundle, a YouTube video, a reddit post, etc. The Media on games I consume is pretty good at sorting out what I want from what I don't.

Also, eliminate any duplicates I have on my consoles. I'll double dip if it's a bundle +1, but definitely not prioritize.

My personal top 10 wishlist are:

1) Cryptmaster - remember the demo distinctly. Nothing else like it. It's definitely on my list to buy.

2) Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader - I will get it when it's got a "GOTY" style edition; I love CRPGs thanks to Larian (divinity before BG3) and I'm a 40k fan.

3) Potionomics - the master edition update just came out. The things I wouldn't like have been removed or changed.

4) Dream Tactics - great game, unique premise

5). Romancing Saga 2 - loved the demo, want to get into SaGa

6) Kunitsu-Gami - just hasn't been cheap enough. This should have been a $30 game. Capcom screwed the pooch.

7).Neon White - unique premise, saw a video on it

8) Mouthwashing - demo was astounding, knew it was going to be a thing

9) Until Then - great demo, great vibes

10) Thank Goodness You're Here! - word of mouth is strong and seems unique

I prioritized games that are out now. I put all the early access and unreleased stuff at the bottom of my list since it's useless to track them. They'll arrive when they arrive. Most EA games that hit v1.0 these days worth a damn make the news sites and reddit, usually with a sale. That's typically the best time to decide to buy in or not.

Hasn't neon white been in bundles and on sale a number of times? Or am I mistaken? Assuming that it just hasn't hit the specific price you're looking for.

Not PC game related specifically, but this regards PC's in general:

Looks like NZXT has been doing some kind of tomfuckery and Gamers Nexus posted an investigation video into them (seems to focus on a PC rental service they apparently do). It's a long watch, but it might be worth checking out.

For heads up, supposedly Fanatical will be having a letdown party Bundlefest this week. I had asked the rep on reddit about it being during Black Friday week and they hinted essentially this week would be one. Given it's also a Choice Week and a Platinum Week, and Cyber Monday, might see something fancy?

Otherwise, last thing I got was Kindle Unlimited for 3 months for $0.99. Figure that's a good way to pass the time.

I just want some lower prices on bundles in the fest. If it's rebundled stuff with lil new stuff give some good prices at least. Expect at least one super expensive bundle for sure.

Yeah I'm waiting on Tuesday to see what is in the choice bundle. That and there isn't really anything I want on a good sale.

There's a notice up now that legacy family sharing will be retired in early 2025 so any of you like me who were hoping to just ride things out unchanged the way they were are officially getting screwed into using the new family sharing system whether we wanted to (or have the ability to) or not. While it does seem they made some real improvements to it conceptually they didn't fix any of the issues I had with it when it was first announced and knowing Valve's history with Steam, probably never will.

New family sharing is superior to the old one for my use case: I am sharing with my kid, and we live in the same house. If the goal of this feature is to make it easier to share titles with your family, my experience has been that this update is a success and the old implementation was hopelessly cumbersome and inadequate.

I'm surprised anyone trying to share with their families would want the old version! But, maybe there's some functionality in the old one that was lost that I'm unaware of? I hope not, and I hope you find it better for you too, when you ultimately try it.
