This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I bought a gray market key for Witcher 3 to stick it to the Polacks and now they fucking put it on sale for less than I paid at Newegg (no steem.)

Well played.

Back on topic, my entire MP3 player is about 11 GB of video game music with probably 30 or so real songs, most of which come from the vidya. Get on my level losers. Hell, the only JRPG represented is Persona 4 and spinoffs. Entry level children you all are.

Is Rebel Galaxy actually good? People TALKED about it but I don't know if it is actually good.

Also, I'm just about halfway through Undertale and have only met one even SLIGHTLY competent character. That said... it's good. It's worth the hype I think. Though I don't want to go TOO far because the fanbase for it is almost Pony-level bad.

Finally, another reason why I refunded JC3: Steam's refund policy DEMANDS you refund right away. You got a week and an hour of play. You literally cannot wait for developer patches. That's Russian Roulette. If RER2 had released after that refund policy hit, Crapcom would have made NOTHING on the PC version. It was damn near unplayable until every episode released. They were incredibly lucky they got in just before that. Anyway, I only say this because the JC3 devs made a letter pleading for patience while they patch. Fat chance. Steam set the rules. Enjoy giving us our money back. Catch you in a bundle.

Let's see how many PC versions have turned-out:

FO4 has bugs + typical Bethesda technical problems; JC3 launched with issues; ACU launched with issues; Batman: AK performs like garbage at launch and still for many gamers; D3 + SImCity had tons of issues week of released w/ its online DRM.

AAA PC gaming looks great at launch, doesn't it? ;)

Forgot TPP no MGO, DoA5 no online, every Koei port after DW8XL etc etc.
Thanks for proving more of my point. :)

It's over master race is finished. Consoles win it all!
Nope, PC master race just needs to keep waiting for them killer deals from Steam sales any places with a great deal + for games to have been patched-the-hell up first & been around the block for a while; and for newer PC hardware to be available.

Patience is a virtue.

I think that the examples MysterD and Rollingskull compiled illustrates the point some people have been promoting; stop buying games on Day 1 or pre-purchase as this would send a message to the companies that we are unwilling to pay AAA money for AAA games that are broken at release.

Actually, I think it ran a nice discussion about some people actually enjoying gaming music.  For instance, I really enjoyed Persona 3's OST.  I realize not everyone buys music from games, but a good soundtrack helps to enhance a game i.e. setting the right tone/environment.

Irregardless, we probably should talk about how nice it is that SSD prices continue to fall, what gaming monitor is best (24 inch vs 27 inch, IPS vs TN, 1080p vs 2 or 4k), how Bruticis's ARK server (and how many dinos he has been able to breed) is doing and what surprised we might find at the Winter Sale.

27" 144hz G-SYNC TN is the way to go if you're using Nvidia (IPS glow drives me nuts, watch a video if you wont know what it is). I use two of these, fantastic TN displays:

Console printerbro talk:

You can PM the TN 630 to Best Buy for $27.99, this week you get a $20 Office Depot Gift Card with the purchase of 2 brother toners. Then I have a $10 Office Depot reward and $10 off $40 coupon from a new store opening around me. Looking at $8 each after the GC, excluding the $10 I'll get back for recycling these crappy knock off ones I am not going to use.
I guess it's a good deal if you want to resell them to shadyprintercartridges.com on Ramadan for $50 in Kellogg's coupons so you can get $100 in Sugar Smack Amiibux vouchers.

Bruticis, nice monitor.  Just asking; what do you think of the ultra wides with 21:9 ratio.  It seems like a 29" ultra wide has the same screen space (approx.) as a regular 27" but might be better for newer movies and games.

They look great but at the time I was monitor shopping there wasn't one with NSYNC GSYNC. I've had my eye on the Acer Predator X34 but I really fell in love with my Asus ROGs.

I was mistaken in my earlier post. I deeply apologize and want to issue a correction.

I had claimed I had met one competent person in Undertale. That was incorrect. I have actually met zero so far.

I am sorry for the confusion.

Works fine for me. Having fun with it. Sure wish I was playing it on a console with gimpy graphics and waiting for the curated Bethesda-approved mod garden to appear next year though....

So after fucking up tuesday nights spoderfox event by thinking Soccer Rage had online MP (hint: it doesn't), I double checked to see if Get Over Here had working online MP since I had previously planned to do it for thursday night's event. Tested it with Bobby, the online multiplayer has terrible lag making it completely unplayable.

On a positive note, we played Screencheat instead of Soccer Rage on tuesday and had a fun time with that. Protip: don't let Syntax Error and Bobby be the last people remaining in a match, they'll just run around in circles aimlessly forever.

So now that I've got that out of the way.. thursday night's event is now Toybox Turbos which will hopefully be a decent game.

Reds and I played 7 Days to Die on Black Friday. DFG joined us later in the night. Aside from the game taking forever to work for me (it made my computer shut down at one point) we put in a few good hours of survival. We were doing decent in the town hospital until we decided to go scavenging which led to most of us getting killed by a zombie Doberman and calling it a night.

The game has working mp so it was guaranteed to be better than most games Spoder picks.

We should play World of Soccer Online sometime. It's free and looks kinda like the old Sensible Soccer games but instead of playing the whole team you play it with up to 10 players, each player controlling one single player.

Well, you know Bethesda games have issues upon release; they always do. These games are so big, have so much going on, so many moving parts, have not-so-hot animation, and still is on that old modified GameByro - issues are to be expected here. Only good thing from what I'm reading about FO4 is a toaster sounds like it can run FO4 - so at least the stability + performance issue are out the window. Sounds like we just have to worry about bugs, broken quests and save corruption issues.

I didn't really like UI for FO3 + NV too much; and FO4 looks like more of the same problems w/ the UI. Even separating + categorizing the weapons w/ more categories - i.e. melee; sun-machine guns; hand-guns; heavy guns; etc - would've went a long ways. That alone certainly helped quite a bit on Dragon Age Inquisition.

Also ACE - Arena: Cyber Evolution seemed pretty cool, the whole 30 minutes I played of it. It's a 3v3 soccer/air hockey type game. I just checked and it even has a party vs party mode so you bros can totally bro out amongst yourselves. Also some of you might have DLC for it (adds a new character so spoder can tell you guys all about that), it given away on WGN IIRC.

Pretty sure this is better than all of the video game music posted here recently combined. It's even holiday themed, which is a bonus:

First of all, you just put random letters and numbers together and your comment is gibberish.

Second, measuring the health of the PC master race based on the quality of Japanese console game ports is folly at best.
