Before anyone asks this bit of info is located right on the linked page.

Noct Beta is available until 10/21/2015, at which date will be removed from the library. Users who take part in the Noct Closed Beta will then receive 40% off full purchase of Noct.
I was hoping we would keep it :( 40% off is a no-go from me.

So Gilby Gilby'd the Warhammer Vermintide event, but just as well, I was looking for something in some boxes and that gave me time to find it.  After I found what I was looking for I fired it up for one level and... really liked it, surprisingly.   It's a team based 1st person action game.  Not sure how many people can be on one team, maybe 4?  Different people to choose from - I went with witchhunter who had dagger and two guns as his weapons.  Our first mission was fighting through town to sound a horn to warn people of the rats invading.  Most of the rats are the same but you do have some Left 4 Dead style rats.  Like one is a gas rat who throws gas bombs and then blows up and dies but tries to kill you in the process.  One is a giant troll/tank rat.  There's even a rat that grabs you from a far and drags you towards it.  So basically Left 4 Dead with rats and a fantasy setting.  Took 30 minutes to finish the first level.  Would play it again.  Would buy it in a bundle or super cheap 4 pack or something.

So....Bad(der) Rats?

Sila Games is running a 24 hour Saints Row sale.

Saints Row IV GOTC is $4.99 - https://www.silagames.com/game/325/saints-row-iv-game-of-the-century-edition

Saints Row Gat out of Hell is $9.99 - https://www.silagames.com/game/313/saints-row-gat-out-of-hell-

However... Saints Row Ultimate Franchise is $10.99 - https://www.silagames.com/game/339/saints-row-ultimate-franchise-pack

The thing about this is that Saints Row Ultimate Franchise was updated to add Gat out of Hell, so for those of us who don't have IV and Gat ouf of Hell, it's a bargain. But I have no idea if the keys sold by that store include Gat or not. There's sevenish hours left on the sale, hopefully the rep will reply to me on Reddit.

For those who have a Fry's locally, in store deal only:

$16 for a value of a Steam card worth $20.

Check your e-mail for the code for today only to get that $4 off.

1 per customer + today only.

While supplies last only.

No rainchecks allowed on this.

I hung around Discord until 9:10 (local time) and no one came on or showed up as in-game so I bailed. All y'all need to buy some clocks.

How are you guys liking Discord?  How is it compared with teamspeak, other comm. apps?

Someday, I would love to join a Bro session, but life, work, wife, etc make it tough.

You all need to come to spanish TS3. I We are not there at that time so you could enter and play freely without any interruption.

I've yet to actually use it.  We clung to Teamspeak until the bitter end and this would have been my first time using Discord.  I think the others used it a couple days ago though for some game I didn't own.

GG has some AC stuff on good deals Putin pricing if you are okay with just Uplay. AC3 Deluxe and AC4 regular are both ~ $3.

There's also some WB stuff (Batman, F.E.A.R.), Starpoint Gemini 2 and then region locked Bamco and Sega stuff so don't mess with those.

Sorry :( Didn't see Gilby on and figured since no one else had mentioned joining he was the only one interested. Didn't even think to log on to Discord.

I actually like it a lot. Easy to set up and use and has an in browser version if you don't want to DL the app.

Will you be around for Damned tonight?

No actual harm done, I just figured I'd pop in since I'd missed the last couple due to non-ownership. If I own Damned, I'll be around -- I'm Idle Mastering at home and it tends to kick me off if I log into Steam from work so I can't check at the moment.

I checked, you don't own Damned. u sux

Damn it, I need to start checking this stuff more closely.

I was actually going to buy some extra copies of Contagion from that IG but then I Gilby'd it.

Is there an easy way to tell whether Uplay stuff has region restriction? (Are there any at all?) Awfully tempted on AC4+season pass.

Not just you, but Spoder is saying most people don't have Damned. Where are these Damned Halloween sales when you need em?
Looks like it was only in one Humble and not in the $1 tier. I rarely buy Humbles anymore and when I do it's almost always the $1 tier. Anything above that it has to be superfralacagalistically amazeballs for more to buy it. And then I get annoyed because I usually don't have time to sit around and F5 to catch the BTA at its absolute lowest.

And I don't do the top tiers. I'll fakey some shit I want in a hot minute but something about paying Humble $12-$15 cheeses me off. Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhno.

It isn't. I just Putin'ed AC3 Deluxe and it activated to YooPlei just fine.

One thing I noticed it the DRM listings on the older stuff on GG is kind of iffy. I had thought that AC1 was Tages no Uplay but after that they all require Uplay no matter what but GG seems to have the DRM listed as either Tages or "Other DRM" for AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations.

Black Flag should be fine though, no region lock.

Uplay stuff can be region restricted as a bunch of people learned when they bought FC4 and/or AC: Unity through Uplay India. You had to use an Indian proxy to not only activate it but to launch it each time as well.

Doesn't seem to be a problem here based on Motoki's crack reporting from behind the Iron Curtain but Uplay stuff can potentially have region locks.

Its good stuff. We moved our TS server over last week. The others dont even compare at this point, free hosting, good admin tools, modern interface, web/desktop/mobile clients, devs adding tons of features. Cant really ask for much more

any chance this UPlay game is on sale?

Also language locks: Uplay games bought from Russia has only Russian language. Of course this applies to Uplay games bought from elsewhere.

Ouch. there's a 50-odd page thread on the Ubi forums about people complaining that the RU/CIS AC4 only has Russian and resists any changes to use a different language pack. That's bought through Ubi store, dunno about bought through third party vendors.

Apparently the Steam version (through the RU store) has all the languages enabled which made the Ubi store purchasers even happier.

The funny thing is the AC3 I bought from GG came with a download which I didn't even mess with, I just activated the key. I'm sure that's some old ass version a million patches ago anyway.

Edited to add: When I went to install it via Uplay it's multi language and defaults to English.

For the record, I was in b4 this.

so whats the consensus on what are the good and bad AC games?
MysterD's picks - which are excluding AC: Chronicles, AC Lib, AC: Rogue, and AC: Unity (b/c I have either not played these or not finished them).

AC2 = AC:B > AC4: Black Flag > AC3 > AC Revelations > AC1

Basically: at least go play AC2, AC:B, and AC4.
