I don't think anyone in this thread is actually a target audience for Stadia. I got into the Geforce Now beta and barely used it at first, and when Im at home still dont really use it. But for when Im on the road, I can use it on my 2 in 1 thin Laptop and play games @1080P 60 FPS and the latency really isnt terrible. I mean I'm not going to win any FPS tournaments on it but It works like a charm 95% of the time otherwise.

Stadia is going to be for people like my friends kids who play Roblox on a potato Dell who only know about sub 20 fps gaming. Not for us "adults" who can buy mid to top end graphic cards for 400 dollars a year. I just sold a bunch of Dell Optiplex 790 pcs for about 40-60 bucks a piece to people buying em for their kids. I managed to get LoL working on one at 720p 50-60 Fps 1080 was sub 30 fps.  With Stadia it wouldnt matter though.

I have never wanted a Chromebook and to me its useless I mean they are so underpowered, and have so many restrictions, that I just never saw a point. And while they might not be a huge market share they seem to be doing ok, I mean they still sell them and stuck around.

The point is Google is going to integrate this into as many TVs/Phones/Browsers it can, not to sell to us but to sell it to parents that dont want to spend extra on consoles or computers. Just like how Netflix is basically on everything including some smart fridges.

As for the caps Im sorry to hear you have to deal with that but I have Spectrum/Charter here and while they have a cap in the stuff you sign but its never enforced, and when I lived in Seattle I had Comcast and Frontier neither of them had caps either, Nor Comcast in San Diego, when I had them. I know when I was working at Charter (Before Spectrum) there would be places, usually not major areas, that they would "Test" data caps. But that was only places that had really had no other options for internet it was Charter or Dial up/DSL/Satalite.

When/If 5G becomes available, or Musks Low orbit Network idea, I think we will see a major shift. But until then no, cable pays lawmakers to much to make laws forbidding municipal services and most of the way the laws are written for a competitor to come in would cost too much overhead (Since they cant use existing poles, they would have to use their own) that its basically a monopoly.

This is sort of why getting internet as a title II would have helped because the government could have forced them to lease lines to competitors. Like what happened to the phone companies.

I know for a fact I dont have a cap, Ive downloaded my entire steam library, most of my PS3 collection, and PS4 collection in the span of a week and thats at least 12 TB of data. When I got one of those 8TB WD Externals from BestBuy Black Friday deals and a few 2 TB drives for PS3/4 upgrades.

1 TB seems sort of low for anything other than a single person. 1080p Netflix show is about 3Gb/hr, 4k is 7-11 Gb/hr. I could see a small family eating through that quickly.

It really sounds like all you people should move to Kansas City. Your all's ISP woes are horrible.

The new Division stuff is really solid... Skill battery modes got merged to hell and back do expect needing to work to get all that worked out.

Technician specialist is pretty damn awesome. I see it being the new favorite. Six points into it skill power boost tree fixed my skill power problems quite easily. (I've only seen the first level of its unlock and it's all simple. 50 points at a control point, 20 shotgun kills, and 3 activities in the open world.)

New missions are cool, very very well done.

The targeted loot is cool but the SMG set was the Pentagon today and I really have no need for it... but it does flatout tell you this was targeted loot so it does appear to function properly. I also got a few pieces of the Raid sets in the open world. One named piece. They drop yellow and have a double helix like effect going on them. (Once you ge them in your inventory it can be harder to find them.

The Classified missions are cool, I would say the Wharf is better, it's got a real cleaver part about it, but the Mexican Embassy is damn cool looking.

Holding off judgment until I see what it did to my seeker build. Technician seems cool but lacks the +Explosion of demo to make up for nerfing stacked talents. Nerfing SP mods might leave me without usable mods since I had dumped most of my low SP mods as I already had high skill power. If that's the case, "solid" won't be the word I use to describe the patch.

Certainly destined to be a classic, but I'm looking forward to this:

Graphics Card Update:

After much internal debate with plenty of pro/con weighing, I've decided to return the 2080Ti I'd purchased at the end of Sept. There wasn't anything really "capital W" wrong with the card (I did have a few blue screen crashes, which resolved later, and weird issues in games I'd had no problem running before, but temps never went too high, even when playing in 4K) the cost vs value is nowhere near what I was hoping for. Ray Tracing, right now, is cool-ish, but not worth the $ until it can be used as a gameplay mechanic imho. Most times, I didn't really even notice it in games that supposedly were showcases. Ampere will be here in 6 to 8 months and I hope, hope, hope AMD steps up it's comparative game on the high end GPU scale to force the greedy Nvidia to drop their prices for the sake of competition, plus whatever discrete graphics card biz Intel is planning. New consoles around the corner always seems to force hardware/software makers to push the ball forward. That's my take, anyway. ymmv

You probably not like the patch then... I certainly didn't have lower level mods and had issues. Seems like I needed a 20% boost in skill power to get back into my mods but I think my skill power was at most around 2700.

It actually wasn't that bad. I had to juggle a bunch of talents & mods and recal some stats but I got my stuff up and running. Still feels cobbled together but I ran some challenging missions and mostly did fine. I went from 10s cool down to 15s but my damage went up and with cool down affecting talents, it's workable. I think once I get some more gear, I'll be doing better than I was in TU5. I'm running the new Technician specialization but only unlocked the skill boost and +damage against bots. The +SP is enough though that I'm over 3k on both and trying to adjust for more skill haste -- and I haven't unlocked all the +power boosts yet.

My AR build and Pistol build largely received straight upgrades since neither depended on skill power or stacking talents. I did get the Unstoppable Force nerf though but didn't feel it much.

Targeted loot feels really nice and I think will help people a lot. Expanded name sets are also nice. Between the two, I might be able to get a third RK piece for the +Shield power on my pistol girl. Carbine 7 went from trash to being pretty sweet; glad I kept mine. Haven't played the new Pentagon mission but did the two new Classified missions. Overall, I think TU6 will be very positive for most players.

I should have mentioned this yesterday... but when you finish the Pentagon mission (which is the second mission you do as you have a side mission to breach the Pentagon open the barrier before exiting to sell loot or whatnot. If you don't you won't have access to the DARPA mission and will have to run the Pentagon mission again.

Well, supposedly, the new consoles are going to have hardware based ray-tracing support so it stands to reason that the next Navi revision will have that same tech. That's when, I'd guess, that Navi will make a serious run at the 2080s.

Yeah, but you'd also get The Outer Worlds!

Or you can just get a RX570 to get BL3!

So if I spend $130 and get a shitty RX570 then I'd get Borderlands for free, and then maybe I could sell the GPU to some Craigslist degenerate for a hundred bucks, carry the 1 and....

AMD, on top of having the best parts at the best prices, also has the best promos.  Not sure why anyone would sell off AMD parts.  If you still have shitty Intel or Nvidia parts replace them ASAP is my advice.

It has definitely crossed my mind a dozen times.

"Let's see, it would only cost about $400-500 out the door to get a brand new Ryzen mobo + CPU but then I get BL3 FOR FREE."
<_< I just bought a New Ryzen 7 2700X, AsRock B350M Pro4 Mobo, and 16Gb 3200Mhz ram for under $300. And have a free copy of BL3/OuterWorlds waiting to see if outer worlds is the better flip, I also got 4 free months of Xbox PC with it.

Idk whats up but everyone and there mother is discounting Ryzen 5 3600s at around the 175 mark currently. Ryzen 2600X's are like 129 on discount most places. I got mine from Mircocenter for $159, and combined it with a deal for 30 dollars off a compatible Mobo. So I got the mobo for like 60 dollars? I upgrading from a i5-3570K Ive been sitting on that while its nice at a 4.2 OC just wasnt pulling its weight anymore

With Black Friday around the corner I wouldnt be surprised to see 2600X under 100 3600's around the 150 mark?

I feel ya. I currently have a pickup reservation for an open box 3600x for $160. Don't need it, but was thinking of upgrading a machine currently running a 1600. And would be looking to do do the same thing with the free game.

The $30 off motherboard offer doesn't strike me as great since board prices are all on the high side. Will probably pass on that. Back when zen2 launched, the motherboard combo was temporarily $50. Now that was glorious since it made the Asus x370 prime essentially free. Snagged two then.

Anyway now that newegg and ebay rolled out sales tax for me I'm more inclined to make the 45 min drive to MC.

I actually dont live close to a MC. The closest to me is a 4 hour drive in Chicago. I Venmo'd some friends in NYC the money and they picked up my parts and FedExed em to me. It was still cheaper than any online deals. Ive been complaining we dont have a Frys or MC or any good PC store in WI for a while even one like an hour away wouldnt be bad.

I'm trying to find a decent case (MATX) for cheap but the local PCs shops are all pricey. I would order online but cases are one of those thing I like to see before buying.

Humble Monthly is becoming Humble Choice.... hmmmm

https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly/classic

"All games revealed upfront. No more waiting to find out what you're getting each month."

"More games every month. You choose the ones you want to keep forever."

Seems like if you are in a yearly subscription cycle, you are in luck, otherwise expect to pay MOAR (up to $19.99 per bundle)

I'm kind of curious who thought it was wise to bring this up so far in advance.
If they were smart, they'd have already made all of the agreements, had a pool of ridiculously good games lined up and announce "These are examples of what you'll be able to get to choose from" and as such absolutely blow the doors of the number of people signing up to get new subscriptions, that way they could go to all of the publishers and show them these ridiculously favorable subscriber numbers.

I already own this so here's a free code

The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries
