Maybe I have no self-control, but I ended up buying a decent amount of stuff. Sure, this sale wasn't as good as the ones prior, but it wasn't OMG WURST SAEL EVAR!1!11!oneone.

I ended up picking up; (not including bundles or freebies)

  • stuff that I didn't think would end up in a bundle soon, if ever, (Metal Gear, Bulletstorm, NFS, Kane&Lynch, Battlestations, AvP)
  • stuff that might be bundled but cheap enough to where I wouldn't feel too bummed if they were (Postal, Two Tribes, DDE, Halo, Rabbit Hole, Contraption Maker, Moonbase)
  • a bunch of DLC for games I've played and mostly enjoyed
  • several soundtracks (for some awesome games),
  • picked up Age of Myth for my girlfriend and I and she gave me South Park, Rayman, and Democracy.
All in all, I think it was a good haul. The only game that I kind of regret passing up and would've bought at encore (if the discount was the same) was AC4, but I'm sure it'll hit 75% off again sometime soon. Oh and I finally got to 1000 games on Steam, so there's that. I believe #1000 was Contraption Maker, lol.

Can't sell holiday cards anymore. Went to their trade thread to get some cards I could sell. In about 5 seconds, I got 4 trade offers (Terraria, Awesomenauts, cs:go cards) and someone offered me 3 Endless Legend cards for 1 holiday card. Best sale ever.

It's not so much that it's all Desura because you know that stuff will get in anyway, but it's all been bundled before. I mean I checked and I own all that crap on Desura already. That's just, lazy. ;)

I feel like profile themes will be the next big marketable item; perhaps from crafting card sets of series 2. Especially since excess emoticons and backgrounds were recycled via this sale. Nicer than (and just as useful as) profile backgrounds and can be monetized on the market. If I were GabeN, I would get on this as a new revenue stream, ASAP.

The only thing I had bought was the Magneto pack for Marvel Heroes, but I decided to make a couple last minute purchases.

I've been hearing so much about all the great local multiplayer games that have come out in the past couple years that I suddenly had a revelation that for my bachelor party I just want to get my friends over to my place to play through them. My wedding's 4/4, so there's not going to be any big sales before then. So I picked up The Yawhg, which was at it's lowest price and Gang Beasts which I didn't grab on flash sale because I didn't think of this until after that sale, but was only like $1 or $2 cheaper at the time anyway. Now I'm annoyed that I missed the Mount Your Friends and Nidhogg flash sales. Hoping deals for those pop up again in the next 3 months.

I haven't told my best man my bachelor party idea yet, but I hope it sounds good to him. I know most people would probably think it sounds lame, but so many of my friends have young kids now that I never get to game with any of them anymore so I'm pretty excited that I have an excuse to force to them to play with me.

Oh yeah, I also grabbed Max and the Curse of the Brotherhood during the auction. Played through it last weekend and absolutely loved it. Can't believe that game didn't get more attention. I highly recommend it if you like puzzle/platformer type games.

Edit: Oh no, wait... down at the bottom there's the Daily (did they move it wtf?). Black Forest Games Collection for $9.99. Decent enough deal if you don't already own Giana Sisters I guess.

Double Edit: Giana Sisters might be the highlight of that bundle.
