They're sending Steelbooks now in plastic bags. For your sake I hope it arrives Monday that way if it's damaged you'll get a second chance at one.

They're not the only one doing it, as Target did that to me with the ET steelbook.

I had three copies of Snow White & The Huntsman get mangled in shipment because they shipped it in a plastic mailer each time. I won't order a steelbook from Best Buy or Target unless I order enough on the same order to force them to put in a box, like multiple copies of the same item or other different items with the steelbook.

Are the Best Buy pre-order steelbooks for UP, Muppets, and Snow White worth anything?

UP would probably be the only one worth something. Possibly Snow White if you are speaking about the cartoon and not the live action one. You would just have to search on eBay to see what they are at. Average Disney/Pixar steelbooks seem to be around $40.
 
Pretty interesting steelbook find today. Picked up the original Total Recall for 16.99. Hadn't seen that on the shelf in a while.

The OP lists a few of the game steelbooks (or other metal cases), so it wouldn't be a big deal to keep adding them, IMO. If nothing else, you could resort to looking at the Official CE thread. Most CEs have some sort of metal case these days.

 
I'd be inclined to say don't list CEs, but list things that come only with a steelbook/metalpak/etc. For example, Ni no Kuni preorder steelbook wasn't in the CE.

 
For those that pre-ordered the SB from BBY - did you just get an e-mail saying the order was ready and waiting? Because I did. Subject line: "Good news. Your order is ready and waiting."

I'm not sure if they'll give me the SB today though, since it technically releases tomorrow?

EDIT: Never mind, I got another e-mail (went to spam) that says I can pick it up tomorrow. The tease was real.

So it looks like all three of the first transformers movies are now at best buy as a black border steelbook.... what the hell!??!?!?!  should I get it since I am getting the steelbook for AOE so it would complete my TF steelbook collection.

Another wth is that Star Trek ITD and GI JOE are also in steelbook form at best buy.  Both of them I bought at Walmart last year just for the steelbook and now BB has it....

I wonder if Any of these steelbooks have UV codes.....

I too also got the email saying my CA steelbook is at my local store but have to wait til tomorrow to pick it up.

I wouldn't say they are cheaply made. I bought top gun and both Star Trek steels. For $12 it's a good deal if you don't own them yet but I wouldn't double dip on them. Many of the Blu ray forum people are what us gamers would call pc elitists when it comes to their steels. They need all the bells and whistles.
 
If they're single-disc like a number of the past BB steels, then I think I might double-dip on the single-disc ones I already have and pass on the ones I have multi-disc on like ST XI / ST: ID.

 
I already double dipped on all my xmen movies including the wolverine just for the steelbooks. I know dofp will be a target exclusive, but there will be a non steelbook extended edition down the line. I don't like the black borders around the artwork for the transformers blus that will mis match the full artwork for AOE when it comes out.

I'll pick up the DOFP SB from Target for the theatrical cut and pass on the 3D version, due to the extended cut coming out next year.

 
I just got 5 of the best buy steelbooks all seem to be decent quality and for $12 I had to get some of these war classics... saving private ryan cover art is same as the collectors tin that came out several years ago, really nice looking steelbook.

Not that we can get that down here without a group buy, of course, so that's not something I'm worried about.

 
Jeez does anyone know for sure if Bestbuy will have the Godzilla metalpak in stores on Tuesday? I checked the website and it's listed for $44.99 right now and is not available for store pickup. If it's not going to be there I might have to order off Amazon for once. I'd really like to get that Futureshop steelbook though.

They should. Price will probably update by the weekend but if they don't then target has it listed also.
