Is there anything different about the Lion King from the previous Blu-ray releases?  I got the exclusive one from Target a few years back that had a lenticular cover and... maybe 3D?  It had a digital download for the soundtrack, though.  Anyway, if there's nothing different about this disc compared to previous releases, I won't be getting the SB, not that I really planned on double dipping for it.

I'm curious as to why you didn't preorder GOTG Vol. 2 or the Lion King? Both were available for preorder for a long time. I find that I'd rather preorder and not have to stress about getting to a store at 10am to hopefully snag a copy. Most steelbooks arrive undamaged for me (except of course the last Alien steelbook).

my alien covenant sb doesnt close well also. i had to line it up.

Hmm, I just checked and I have a digital copy of The Lion King in my library and I assume it's from the Blu-ray I have. Even more reason not to get the SB, then.

Same exact thing, only thing I've read was something about clouds being included again. I don't know if they are talking about the subliminal message "sex" controversy that went around years ago.

I have to agree on the cover of the upcoming Lion King steel-book. The art they are using for that is very underwhelming. It's always disappointing to see lackluster art on these things. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol II steel-book coming out next week is going to have movie-appropriate custom art, just like the original Guardians of the Galaxy steel-book. That's how you do it right. This copy-paste job on the Lion King set? Weak-sauce.

I ordered 1 of the 3d/4K SB only this time as the movie is definitely fitting IMO for 3D and UHD/4K, but damn do I hate that high price. Thanks though I might order an extra "regular" SB.

Yeah I ordered my GotG 4k steel on 7/11 and my order is still in the processing status.  Would've thought it would at least be in the preparing stage by now.

 
AMEX just notified me that my card was charged, so looks like it'll ship today. No way it gets here tomorrow unless they do next day air.

Yeah just checked my card and bestbuy did charge me. I don't care if it doesn't come tomorrow. I just want to make sure that I do get it.

 
I'll be @ BB tomorrow morning to pick up my GotG2 to swap it out in case it's damaged I know this one will sell out fast. On another note I also have to pick up Ash S2 and SuperGirl S2 (Don't Judge Me) lol

 
My GotG2 4K steelbook order is delayed, says if it ships they are refunding me $4.31 for shipping. Also says if they can't complete the order by 9/20 I will get a full refund. I ordered late, August 7th but this is stupid.

I'm in the boat, I ordered back in July. No activity at all until 2 pm, status updated to preparing, credit card got charged and now at 1045 pm get an email saying it's delayed. This is crap

Same on my Gotg2 orders.  I had regular steelbook in one order and a 3D/4K in another for someone else, both placed at the beginning of July, both orders delayed.  If this is true, fuck them as there is no excuse for botching any preorder that well in advance, unless it was product wide due to a manufacture delay, which we know it's not as some people have already received their copies.

Take it this with a grain of salt, but the delay notice might be a glitch in the system as it doesn't have option to cancel them.  I've had this has happened to me once before, and while it did ship late it was only like one or two days.  Still I wouldn't count on it if you want to make sure.

Just got my shipping notification after the "delayed email". I'm going to best buy tomorrow and may try to find one for pickup just to be safe from shipping damage.

 
For those who've gotten GOTG vol. 2 in UHD, is there a way to redeem the digital code that will grant you the streaming rights in UHD, or does it only give you standard HD no matter what? Want to know if there's a process or trick that works before I pick up my copy and redeem it.
