Went to my local Target to see if could score a backup copy of the Harley Quinn SB, as I wasn't sure Target would send out the right one. My local store had six copies, so I picked up three, one for myself using a $10 off a movie Cartwheel Perk (which are ending by Sep 27th) and two more if people can't find them locally. They were shelf-placed in front of the regular Amaray-case versions, so I can assume they share the same DPCI # in-store.
Got the last one just after 11 AM and thankfully it was not damaged by the plastic prison.

How do you take advantage of Cartwheel Perks?

Also, it looks like Best Buy is having a sale on some catalog SB movies - buy two and save $5. Resident Evil movies, Underworld movies, Salt, Ghostbusters (2016), and Superbad are all $10 each so $15 for a pair.
As MSUHitman posted, Perks was a secondary program for Cartwheel that they were testing in multiple cities (St Louis being one of them) where you'd earn points on purchases that you could use on discounts for types of items, though they ended it last week.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/20/target-is-ending-cartwheel-perks-rewards-promising-something-better.html

One thing it would let you use points on is $10 discounts on movies, so one of the ones in-store I picked up was $9.99 + tax.

I liked the old perk of a free book or free movie instead of the newer $10 discount. But it's still better than the nothing we'll be getting now.

Went to my store at lunch to use my Cartwheel too, and they had 7 left. At least one had a spine slash.

Nope the dpci's are different. Whoever stocked them must not have been paying attention

No hype for the Baywatch steelbook eh? My Target only had 2 when I picked up Batman/HQ.
Baywatch is actually a metalpak and not a steelbook, that turned a lot of collectors off. Personally I never really care but in this case I avoided it because the movie did not look good at all. I think this is one of those rare cases where it's going to sit for a few weeks, may even see a sale or cartwheel discount if so

I didn't think I'd care but I found the metalpaks I bought tended to degrade in terms of hinges weakening or loosening which made the whole case feel more fragile not to mention uglier.

I still love the Vivapaks which I suppose are functionally steelbooks as The Lion King one is still my favorite Lion King metal case and the other Disney ones were great too.

Not a metalpak, but a viva metalbox. Metalpaks have an ugly split down the center of the spine, Metalbox spine is comparable to Steelbook, but uses metal hinges.

My Batman and Harley Quinn steelbook was sitting outside my apartment door in some crappy cardboard paper mailer --zero cushion/ bubble wrap. Somehow its in the best condition I've ever received a steelbook in the mail...

I've gone 0/2 for Target shipments of steelbooks this week.  Both Batman & Harley Quinn as well as Baywatch were both bent in shipment due to the vacuum-sealed cardboard mailers used for shipment.  Glad I picked up one Batman & Harley Quinn in-store and I did an in-store pickup on Baywatch.

sorry about your luck, but thank goodness you thought better. I really expected the worst, and had no backup. Don't think I can justify skipping teaching to grab an in-store steelbook...as tempting as that is.

If you don't like the Best Buy WW 4k steel be sure to check out the Amazon Germany one. Being WB it is region free and from what I have read on blu-ray.com is that as of right now all 4k discs are region free with no plans to lock them. Here is the link if interested:

https://www.amazon.de/Wonder-Woman-Steelbook-Blu-ray-Limited/dp/B073WD66QC/ref=tmm_blu_title_4?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1504546708&sr=8-1
You are correct that the discs are region free ... but not sure about the UHD UV codes

And as if we didn't have enough oddities with steelbooks, we now have two (2) different Game of Thrones Season 7 steelbooks.

One has the term "Red Egg" in its title and the product link, at $79.99:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/game-of-thrones-season-seven-red-egg-steelbook-blu-ray-only--best-buy/6092697.p?skuId=6092697

The other one has the term "Creme Egg" in its title and product link, at $57.99:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/game-of-thrones-season-seven-cream-egg-steelbook-blu-ray-only--best-buy/6023909.p?skuId=6023909

No idea about the differences.   Won't know more closer to release and we see cover art.

Anyone have an extra Batman Harley steel for sale? Was out of luck on finding it in stores.
Did you check targets site and brickseek, few stores in my area still show stock

Reminder that target has The Mummy steelbook for $19.99 next week also out of nowhere they have a new ET steelbook for $12.99
I have the old Target ET steel but gonna grab this one too

I do. I bought 3 online because I couldn't find one in store and I wanted them to ship it in a box. Last few steelbooks I've ordered from target if I bought one they stuck in that crappy sealed brown paper mailer.

The cheaper one also comes with a free $10 gift card so I should probably place an order for that.

I unfortunately live in the NYC area and some stores do show stock in Brickseek but the two locations I went to, they were nowhere to be found.

Is there a stand alone steel for the 5th film? I'm not gonna double dip for a hit or miss series.
Blu-Ray (2D) @ $21.99 (not available for pick-up in-store): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/transformers-the-last-knight-steelbook-includes-digital-copy-blu-ray-dvdonly--best-buy-2017/5901133.p?skuId=5901133

4K Blu-Ray @ $28.99 (not available for pick-up in-store): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/transformers-the-last-knight-steelbook-includes-digital-copy-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-blu-ray-only--best-buy-2017/5901134.p?skuId=5901134

3D is on neither one of these releases.

Looks like I'll be doing the ol double dip to get the steelbook and 3D :p
When age of extinction came out I did the same thing but lucked out because the 3D was $10 on Black Friday at Best Buy or Walmart. I just put the 3d disc in my steelbook and sold off the blu Ray, DVD and digital copy for $10 so it paid for itself

Hey all, just FYI as I couldn't find a better place to post about this but want actual collector's to know.

I will be holding a lowball which will include about 75% of my steelbook collection. They are from all over, US, Japan, UK, Germany, China, etc. No pics up yet as the thread is a work in progress, but please do keep an eye out for the sale as I would really hope they go to people that can appreciate them!

Link to thread.

There's a trading thread. Post there

So there is a Justice League: The New Frontier Steelbook rerelease showing on Best Buy coming out on Oct. 3. Has Target lost its exclusivity on D.C. Animated Steelbooks? If not, what's the next one?

It's not an exclusive as I have it pre-ordered @ Amazon. I think I posted about it in here as well.

Looks like the next DC animated film "Batman vs. Two Face" might not be getting a steelbook at Target. Looks like their exclusive this time will be lenticular packaging for it.

https://www.target.com/p/batman-vs-two-face-target-exclusive-collectible-lenticular-packaging-blu-ray-dvd-digital/-/A-52832951?clkid=626fee2cN1d53528597a46beeb793918f&lnm=81938&afid=bluray&ref=tgt_adv_xasd0002#lnk=sametab
They didn't announce a HQ and Batman steel until like the week before release.

In other news, I had my third damaged steelbook from Target.com fullfillment, which is being done by a third party company, Baker & Taylor Books, which also supplies other vendors, plus libraries. I emailed them when I had this third one, and it's at least gone to some other email address inside of Baker & Taylor from my initial email to them.

I think the difference here is that they are already advertising an exclusive lenticular slip cover. I doubt Target would have 2 different exclusives.
They won't. We're not getting a SB from Target if they announced something else. I'll go pick up the Zavvi SB and have it be a kick in the backside to get a region-free player already.

My Close Encounters 4K SB just shipped out from Best Buy.

EDIT: Starship Troopers Traitor Of Mars 4K SB also shipped out from Best Buy.

EDIT 2: Starship Troopers 20th Anniversary SB also shipped out from Best Buy.

I really don't like how Target rose the price of their DC steelbooks to $19.99 starting with Batman and Harley Quinn. I don't want this to be the new standard just because they assume we're OK with that and buy them anyway. Better Target stop while their ahead.

These are now "on sale" $49.99, $5 off the regular price of $54.99. The image pic of the Red one is up there on the summary item page as well as the detail item page, the Cream Egg one shows on the summary page though not the larger image on the detail page. I'd assume the same look at the Red one, though with a cream colored egg magnet.

There's also a Sigil version coming of Season 7, though no pictures of it yet:

Sucks the $10 GC promo doesn't apply to pre-orders of these. : \
It does for the Red Egg one, not the Creme Egg one. Look closer. You just have to find another one to go with.

I ended up pre-ordering it when it was $57.99 with the Creme Egg one at the $79.99 price, so it worked for that promo. I'm waiting for the prices to auto-adjust down to the $49.99 price.

No, I saw that but when clicking on the promotion page it hadn't listed it as one of the eligible titles so I thought it was possibly excluded. Wasn't sure if I'd end up having to fight CS to get the GC and even at $40, I felt that was just too much for a season anyway. My OCD is already going off as it is about having such inconsistent boxes between BD+DVD, just BD and now steelbooks lol.
