Street Fighter IV - Gen Discussion & Info
The first (Euro)Street Fighter IV Special Edition details and pics have finally surfaced. Ryu and Crimson Viper figures, a DVD with trailers and the full-length anime movie, a mini strategy guide for the four new fighters & exclusive downloadable content for Street Fighter IV GREAT! There goes another $20 if this is the same for the U.S.
Hot damn that is rad, hopefully we get the same special edition.

My girlfriend already has the hots for Crimson Viper, and Ryu is always good... so we both win!

This just in:

The Collector's Edition for Xbox 360 or PS3 will include:
- a bonus disc with a 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers
- a CD soundtrack
- a collectible Ryu figurine for the PS3 edition
- a collectible C. Viper figurine for the Xbox 360 edition
- a Udon/Prima Hint book
- and 5 downloadable costumes.

The pictures on TeamXbox.com seemed to look like they included both figures for the X360 version. I can't link to it now because its blocked from work :whistle2:(

nah i just checked, it says collectible figurine, C.Viper
but i do see the pic and it does have both in the pic so maybee, but in the text it says C.Viper.
maybee its just there so you can see both? or maybee it does come wif both cuz its on the back of the box to. so who knows

Still nothing worth the extra money, but at least they are trying. Hopefully they dont pull a Fable II and end up only giving the bonus disc in the end.

I'll wait a bit for clarification, but I am thrilled that the PS3 version is going to have Ryu. I will probably end up buying both versions (different friends on different consoles), but February cannot come fast enough.

Wow, some good stuffs for the CE, $80 is high, but i think it's better than R2 CE...

I don't understand the bonus disc with HD 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers thing... It's listed for the Xbox 360 as well. I mean, the HD on BD is understandable, but how do you do that with the Xbox 360?

come on, that alone worth a lot of money, well, at least $10 don't you agree?

I saw on xbox360fanboy or joystiq about the SE with two figurines if i find the link ill post. I might grab the SE i usually don't but the hadoken pose ryu looks so sweet

EDIT here you go

Limited edition figurines of all time favourite character Ryu and the all new character Crimson Viper, positioned within the familiar settings of the 'crowded Chinese downtown'.
I mean, the HD on BD is understandable, but how do you do that with the Xbox 360?
Because HD content is just a matter of space. As long as it fits on the disc, it's fine. You could use regular CDs technically, but it wouldn't hold much.

The one with two figures is Europe only. Over here in the US we have to freaking choose.

Although I DO wonder about HD anime on the 360, unless is just a movie file

Actually, i asked the question wrong... Okay, i understand that HD contents can be stored on the DVD discs, but in doing so, the contents are not authored to be played on DVD players. So, the question is, if the SF Anime movie is indeed in HD, for the Xbox 360 version, can the disc be directly played? My guess is yes, but i'm not sure.

Ruy looks cool, must have! The chick with boobs is ... Want her too...
How much HD can you get of a cartoon?
I don't know the answer to that, because i'm not sure what they mean by the SF Anime movie... If it's the old one, then i don't really care. However, if it's something like the painted duel intro between Ryu and Ken, HD rules!

Ohh i guess the DLC is costumes. I wonder if these will be able to purchase if you dont get the CE. I really want to get this, but 80 bucks for a game. Damn thats a lot of money.

We've got good news and bad news. The good news is that the collector's edition of Street Fighter IV (announced last week) is headed to the United States after all. The collector's edition -- with the hefty price of $79.99 -- is now listed on GameStop.com. The bad news: The 360 and PS3 versions of the CE are getting different goodies. While both versions will include a soundtrack CD, strategy guide, costume DLC and a bonus disc with the Street Fighter anime movie, each will include a different Street Fighter figurine. Xbox 360 collector's edition buyers will get a Crimson Viper figurine, while PS3 buyers get a Ryu figurine. Call us suckers for nostalgia, but we'd rather have Ryu. At least we can pretend to be Ryu though, as GameStop is offering a free Ryu headband for pre-ordering either version.

OMG WTH guess ill be buying the ps3 version if I preorder the SE.
And ill be getting it from GS Ryu head bands FTW!!!

HD just means High Definition Anything can be High Definition its just blu ray is big enough to fit the movie and all the other crap on one disc were as dvd if it was high def it would require more than one disc which would make the price of the discs higher (for movies etc) Why you think they make SE versions for movies because they have more stuff. Just remember SD isnt wide screen and has low resolutions the bigger the tv you get the more the picture gets stretched and distorted where as HD is in wide screen mostly and has a huge resolution and maintains the good quality hence the reason everyone is switching to hd because everything SD is so garbage looking on a HD or larege screen. So you can make a HD dvd just probally won't have much of anything else probally just one audio track and maybe a menu. HD anime/cartoons imo are just super clear and can look good on a high res TV. So a 700 meg file turns into a 4gb file which will still fit on a DVD and then they throw in soem other fluff. Hope i made some type of sense.

Really exicted about SF. I have been having fun with HD remix but the controller just blows.

I want to see better pictures of the Ryu figure before i commit to the CE. What i am really looking forward to are the controllers and joysticks. Those look pretty sweet.
360 controllers? If so pics please

Street fighter IV controllers

149.99 arcade

69.99 arcade

39.99 gamepad Ryu

39.99 gamepad Ken

39.99 gamepad Chun-Li

39.99 gamepad Blanka

39.99 gamepad Akuma
the PS3 and xbox 360 controllers are the same, just different button icons.
I pray these controllers have good Dpads cos it would fill a huge void for the xbox 360.
Hmmm i wonder if they will be compatible with the play n charge battery pack.

I know I'm going to get the Tournament edition stick and the CE of the game, I just can't decided if I will get them for PS3 or 360. I think the Ryu figure might pull me over.

Is this game online? Personally i would wait to see how well it plays on the PS3(framerate/graphics). But then again, by the time that happens, it will probably be out already.

I hope some place (maybe the Capcom store?) releases a CE with both figures. I have a couple Ryu figures already but not one from SFIV!

I already have a Ryu headband, they're nothing special. I got it from going to a Capcom game testing over summer. I'm pretty sure Ryu's headband doesn't have the Capcom logo on one end and the Street Fighter IV logo on the other.

Saw the trailer, wow, i'm sold... I think i'll go with the PS3 version, after all, the biggest incentive for me is the HD anime movie, BD it is!

Rose is in the game.

Yes!

damn, what version do I get??

PS3 - Blu-Ray Disc, Ryu Figure

360 - More friends to play online with, and Viper figure

ah decisions, decisions.

Viper figure, online, installing to HD (not sure if the PS3 can), I don't have a PS3 so there is no choice for me, but it'd be my choice regardless. There's plenty of Ryu figures out there. :)

I want the blu-ray, damnit. I can deal with not getting the Ryu figure... I need to get the 360 version since I'm already so invested in fighting games on that platform, and I plan on getting an arcade stick.

Hopefully I can buy it separately at some point.
Its an alternate outfit, they were in the arcade version too
Ahh you are right. Youtube shows a few of them. Wow thats awesome. Chun-li's alternate is hot. :) So are these DLC outfits with the CE edition going to be fresh and new, or just codes that unlock in game attires that you can get normally by purchasing them. hmmm.

So I'm probably getting the CE version for the PS3 since the movie will be on Blu-Ray and I'll just get the regular version for the 360.

It's a good thing my birthday is a couple days after. I hope everyone doesn't think I'm crazy for asking for multiple versions of the same game. Well, crazier than I already I am.
