Street Fighter IV - Gen Discussion & Info
IMO the Chun-Li is the best looking one.
I like the blanka and akuma ones just for the fact that under the dpad it looks black. While the other ones look white under the dpad. I could be wrong about this. But the ps3 akuma looks sick with the black buttons. Too bad the 360 ones have the blue, red, green, yellow buttons. It makes sense, but with the ps3 buttons it looks more slick. Ill probably end up getting the Blanka 360 version.

No Guile, but hang in there...
So it sounds like there will be more controllers coming soon? As in Guile and others? I certainly hope so. I dont want these gems to run out when the 360 needs a good dpad controller so bad. Make these for years to come. :)

Do you know if this controller works good with MK vs DC?

I think so too.
I just don't like the art they chose for the others, not even Akuma.

I may just get 2 fightpads or the lower end fight stick.
The TE stick looks amazing but I don't know if I'm into the arcade experience anymore.
Maybe I'll stop by an arcade this weekend and feel the sticks out.

Can't wait for SFIV and Tekken 6 to come out. Hoping for Capcom vs SNK 3 or MvC3.

I agree about the art style. Chun-Li looks great. The others not so much. But aesthetics aside sites have been heaving praise to the fightpad for the last few days. It is the real deal. I just ordered one for myself and I can't wait to see how it compares to my USB Saturn pads.

Omg I never tagged this thread. wUT?>?? WUT@?#!@?$!$?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Anyway I have the SFIV CE pre-ordered from deepdiscount... but really I'd rather just go cheap style and get the regular version. All I want from the CE are the extra costumes... maybe if they're downloadable I'll just get the regular version.

Is anyone here absolute garbage at SF, but are buying into the mystique and legacy (and Collector's Editions and peripherals) anyway?

Well i used to play the SNES version of Street Fighter. Havent really played any since then. But i would consider myself a casual player. Im buying the CE, though im not going to pick one player and learn every move they have and compete like im a world warrior. LOL

This might be a dumb question, but are they porting the arcade version to both systems. or maybe the arcade to 360, then port that to ps3? Just worried one console version might not run as good as the other.

As far as I know both versions were developed simultaneously. There should be no difference in quality whatsoever.

Haha... yeah.

I suck at SF, but always been a fan. So I'm buying the CE, possibly the TE Stick, and a controller. Most likely will be picking up both CE versions so I can sell the PS3 copy, I want the anime on blu-ray and the Ryu figure.
Now all that i want to know is...

1. What will the DLC be that comes with the CE?

and

2. Will it be on the marketplace for download for those who dont buy the CE?
I want to know the same thing because if they aren't exclusive then I'll just get the regular edition. I don't really care about the movie I can just borrow it from a friend and the fact that we're getting C.Viper instead of Ryu just pisses me off.

The 360 one was done first, then the PS3 cleaned up later.

I agree ;)

This funny because I still have my Street Fighter II for SNES at home. I will probably get the Fightstick on 360 so I can finally enjoy playing a fighting game and get the Regular edition. I am debating on buying HD Remix also after I get the stick since SFIV comes out two days before my birthday.

OK no one at all is talking about SF IV on the PS3 board so I'll ask my question here:

After seeing the Kotaku piece on the super duper tournament stick, I decided to get one. My local Gamestop did take preorders on it ($50 minimum.) Should I also order one on gamestop.com or should I just go with my in-store pre-order?

Jesus pan-fried Christ, MarkMan!

I am glad the Mad Catz FightPad is good. I really don't like using an arcade stick unless it's mounted. But yes, I will definitely buy a FightPad.

I have some I think...

No Guile, but hang in there...

No Rumble... SF4 doesn't support it.
Those controllers look pretty sick, I'd prefer one of those over the full on joysticks.

SFIV doesn't support rumble ...that sucks...it would have been cool to get feedback on the hits.

Is it just me, or do the colored buttons on the 360 pad really go together well with the the Chun-Li artwork?

Man, all i can say as a Balrog player, I can not fuckING wait until SF4 because I'll finally be able to jump as high as everyone else!

I've never played Balrog, but I think I want him to be one of my mains in SF4.
I noticed amazon is showing tournament sticks as item not available. Do they cut off preorders on items?
I think the only place you can get one of them now is at Gamestop. If you're local store takes pre-orders on them, it's a $50 minimum deposit for the big guy, not sure of the deposit on the 2nd tier stick or the pad. They are still available as well on gamestop.com.

Because rumble is so vital to fighting games......

Glad they left that shit out.

Just so most of you know, looks like everywhere is cutting off preorders for the SF4 tourney sticks. I had to go to a Gamestop in store to preorder before they closed.

Aww, I was just going to place mine, Gonna have to go check my local stores.

Do you think i should pre order the Collectors edition of the game? Will that run out? Or maybe the $40 dollar Gamepads?
Do you think i should pre order the Collectors edition of the game? Will that run out? Or maybe the $40 dollar Gamepads?
I think you're OK on the gamepads, but I'm not sure on the CE. Is it Gamestop exclusive or not? It will probably vary by area. I would say yes but I wouldn't count on it.

How many copies of the Fallout 3, Fable 2, Saints Row 2, CoD WatW, Resistance 2, and Smackdown Vs. Raw 09 CE's are still left at your Gamestop? Use that as a measuring stick.
So how in the hell is it fair that the PS3 CE gets a Ryu figure, but we get C. Viper. That's BS man.
It could be worse. It could be Rufus. ;)

GameVideos has some new SFIV matches up, Rose vs. Cammy, Dan vs. Sakura & Gen vs. Fei Long. Two things of note, it looks like Cammy can overshoot and miss her opponent with the Spinning Back Knuckle. Also, Gen can combo his super into his ultra, judging by the video.

It's just over a month away and I can't freaking wait.
Do you think i should pre order the Collectors edition of the game? Will that run out? Or maybe the $40 dollar Gamepads?
I don't know. Look at how many GTA4's and Fallout 3 CE's there are out there. Then again, these have figures so Capcom may limit the release. I kind of doubt it since most places aren't cutting off preorders on the CE's though. Just the joysticks.
But Rufus has an erotic physique and exceptional hram.
Yes, he most certainly has an exceptional ham. In fact, I think it's hams. :D ;)
Yes, he most certainly has an exceptional ham. In fact, I think it's hams. :D ;)
No no.. hram.. I think it's Hebrew, or possibly Yiddish.

Refers to the Male reproductive organs located in the scrotum that produce sperm and the male hormone, testosterone.

It is also used to refer to the male organ used for urination and sex.

Borat, a character created by Ali G for his show uses this word.

Nah. I plan to just walk in the store and pick up my copy.

I still think i might pre order it. Because I dont have a car and might not be able to get to the store on release day. But im wondering who has the fastest/lowest price for shipping. The two times i pre ordered at best buy, i got the game on release day, or the day after. Circuit City wasnt bad either. Amazon has free shipping though.

Now I know, and knowing is half the battle. :whistle2:k

Circuit City probably won't exist after this Friday if they don't find a buyer so for online delivery I say you're choices are BB.com, gamestop.com, amazon.com and walmart.com.

Are you within a reasonable distance of Wal-Mart? If so you can do the site to store shipping. I think regular shipping with them is like $1. BB would probably be the quickest, but Amazon would be cheapest so go with one of those.

For in-store preorders, Gamestop is supposed to hold it for 48 hours (2 days) but sometimes they don't hold the copies, depends on how good your store is. Same deal with Best Buy I believe.

Also none of the MadCatz sticks/pads for SF IV will work on MK vs. DC because that game requires both the stick and d-pad, while the MadCatz accessories only act as either the stick or D-Pad, not both at once.

That's not necessarily true. MK vs DC has a button (I believe the L trigger? I forget, but you could map it to whatever you wanted) that acts as a modifier to allow you to do 3D walk with the D-pad or 2D walk with the analog stick, so all you would need to do is map it to your stick in order to get the benefit.

A little impractical, I admit, but I played MK vs DC with the Hori EX2 no problem.

Sweet, I haven't played the game yet (just ordered the Euro PS3 version) so I'm glad to see I may be able to use my PS3 tourney stick instead of just the dual shock with it.

"So what we've done for the home version we are kinda imitating a similar system where in you can actually purchase these additional costumes as downloadable content for both versions. So it kind of mimics the arcade game version."
WTF, so these costumes cost money? Or are we just going to be able to unlock them through DLC once we get enough money within the game? Seems kind of pointless to download costumes if they are free. And what does this mean for the 5 extra costumes in the CE package. If they are ones that we can buy later then i dunno if i would get the CE pack. Unless its in some way cheaper. I wish they would clear this up before the game comes out, and let us know what the DLC is in the CE version.

I'm curious about this too.

I mean if it mimics the arcade version, wouldnt that mean once we unlock the costume in the game, we would be able to download it for free off PSN/XBLM? I dont want to pay 20 dollars more for costumes we can get for free. Even if it means we could have 5 out of the box right away.

Ultra moves. Wee!

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44358.html

A few notes.

-Seth's ultra is cute. For someone of his power, I expected something brutal.

-M. Bison's ultra looks great. I love the head stomp on the body at the end of it.

-Ryu's ultra looks a little weak. It looked more impressive in past Street Fighters. :whistle2:(

-Gouken's ultra is simple but the sound and pauses make it look powerful. It looks tons better than Ryu's. On a related note, Ken's ultra is pretty.

I would prefer is everyone got the 'rising sun' effect on a connected ultra move. :whistle2:k
