Street Fighter IV - Gen Discussion & Info

Went to best buy and they didnt have any gamepads. :cry:

The gamepads are limited are they? Hopefully stores will be packed with them.

I don't trust Mad Catz products or quality, I know that alot of people are hyped up about the Street Fighter 4 products, but no one has tried them yet used them, there will be Bugs glitches poor workmanship and possibly a mass recall. They have a $40 controller, a $80 cheap arcade stick, and a $150 competition stick. All of them will be terrible is my guess. And good luck dealing with Mad Catz for warranty support, you have to ship your giant aracde stick to them. Your better off finding a quality HORI, or other name brand aracde stick any will perform better and last longer. Just because it has a few SF 4 characters painted on does not make it better than other higher quality sticks, you con no doubt do a nicer ob by having Kinkos print out some high res SF 4 images on lamination plastic and sticking that to an aracde stick.

Pbhhbbht. It's like the car you get to beat up in SF/Final Fight. I can't not beat it up. I don't get to throw hadokens at cars in real life.

Besides, he's one less person that will snatch up a controller. Or he's trying to pull some weird reverse psychology and get us to not buy the pads and then hoard them all.
 
I'm just saying the local police are onto me. My hadokens are in the shape of my avatar, and I can't risk doing them anymore.

Went over to Best Buy to see if they had fightpads up ins.

Found a Blanka. Nothing against him, but he just aint down with the Pee Pants (because he wears shorts), so I had to pass. Hopefully they drop down summadat sweet Ryu/Ken nectar soon, and then shawty get loose all ova dat HDremix.
 
I found a Chun Li pad at Best Buy today! Gonna try it out in a few. Also considering a mod that puts the Right Trigger up on the right top of the controller, where it belongs (which would bring the left bumper down to the face).

is street fighter not set up that way? If RB is punch and RT is kick then it makes sense. But if one of the face buttons dont work, and you have to use a shoulder button instead that would be stupid.
 
The only Xbox 360 game in the world that is set up that way is Street Fighter 4. Not SF2 Turbo or SSF2HD. As it stands, messing with the trigger locations can strongly impact how other games are played (such as Castle Crashers).

EDIT: Impressions! The controllers are kinda large but feel great in your hands. The d-pad functions well, although it's a bit too large IMO or just a little harder to use than the Saturn pad's. The size made doing supers like Chun Li's a little harder than necessary. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. The 6 main buttons are also a tad on the large side, but they work great. Overall I am very happy with this purchase so far, and will surely enjoy it even more in the future.

So I tried out the pad tonight, just one match against the CPU. Definitely a hell of a lot more responsive than the 360...well, that's not a d-pad, I'll just call it the Gimped Analog Stick from now on (Or GAS for short). The one problem I'm having, and this is just how I tried it, is playing it like it's an Arcade Stick, something I'm not accustomed to. Although I was hitting moves more with this d-pad, I still messed up a good number of times. But once I got the rhythm down, I had it, until I lost my groove again.

The Turbo buttons work great though, as is noted by the last achievement I got. And no, it's not from Street Fighter.

I tried it in a local match, and the CPU was freaking DESTROYED. Now to find a partner so I don't feel like I cheat it.
 
Has gamestop.com offered free overnight shipping with SFIV? Do you think they might before it comes out? I dont really have good transportation, and my best bet at getting it at a store is at kmart. Otherwise i might have to order by mail and wait for it to come to my house. Whats my best bet?

I think I saw them do an overnight shipping promotion for it last month so I doubt they do it again so quick. You might get free 2 or 3 day shipping, but maybe not even that.

I used my chun pad on that and got a few angry messages from people lol. The only times I lost was when someone had a turbo controller that was faster than mine or they were using their fingers but I doubt it.

I was going to order from them but they don't even let you choose which pad how lame is that! Luckily there were a few pads left at my Best Buy.

Man, I just read what it takes to unlock Akuma, Gouki, and Seth. Why do they have to be so hard to unlock? It sucked in Soul Calibur, and it'll suck here, too. Except this time it'll be much worse.

Akuma and Gouki are the same person. Akuma is his name in the North American version. Gouki is his name in the Japanese version.
 
Basically it's like this:

Akuma:
1 Perfect, no continues
Gouken:
Get Akuma first, then 1 Perfect, 2 UC, no continues

Both in Arcade Mode mind you. All I know is they made them both hard to unlock, and hard unlockables drive people away really quick.

EDIT: Oh wait, I mean Gouken
 
^^ Damn you posted the same time i did. So how do you unlock Akuma and Seth? Care to share?

Shit thats gunna be so hard..... i hope they sell an unlock all DLC code. LMAO!
