*phew* Just finished both Hard Survival and Time Trials. Good luck to those who haven't yet played level 5 in the Hard Time Trial.

Now I gotta get back to online matches again.
now I gotta catch back up to you on 3 trophies.

-hard time trials
-beat gouken on hardest
-365 finishes

I got my work cut out for me. tv is the best these days though. thank you Vh-1 and these horribly addictive shows. lol

I just need the 100 wins online, 200 matches played, and 1000 medals collected and I'm all caught up to you. SO CLOSE!

lol. this is a tight race. did you get all gold medals on your normal and hard time and survival trials? I have to redo 12 so far. and how far are you in on the normal and hard trials? I got like over a 150 to finish between both normal and hard.

I think the hardest trophy to get in this game is the Get all Gold medals on the challenges trophy just because of the will to not care about how you do on the time and survival trials once you fill the quota to get past them.

I am starting to feel like I owe Capcom money for this game now because of how much I enjoy it. lol

Well that's why Capcom is charging us for costumes already on the disc. -_-

My landlord is giving me $50 to shovel the driveway while he's away so I'll have some extra cash to drop on a stick. Is the fight stick worth it? If so, where the hell can I find one?

so true. but yet I feel like I owe them more. besides I am going to resist temptation and wait until the last 4 packs are out and on discount before a snag the rest. lol. (they are going down in april right?)

Honestly though I am glad that RE5 is coming out next week so I can get away form this game for a while.

tonight I am set on getting at least 1 more trophy. Either hardest against gouken or hard time trials.

I got mostly gold in the Survival and Time Trials, I think I got around 4-5 silver/bronze medals, not sure if I want to go back and get gold on those. Survival is easy in getting gold medals but Time Trials are a bitch to get them in.

I'm not even trying to finish all of the character specific move challenges, they just get frustrating at a point in trying to figure out the exact timing of the combo.

^yeah I'm working on the move challenges. I'm stuck on like the 3rd hard challenge for almost everyone. I've had to remap my button config for most of 'em to accommodate for what was required to do.

I'm also using a DS3 though which is making it harder I think. But you get good titles from 'em.

I love it! Fighting Ken scrubs and beating them with Dhalsim. What possesses them to EX Shoryuken from across the screen when I haven't even jumped all round. I've been maining Dhalsim for a couple days now. So much fun. Anyone else play Sim?

lol @ tag "hadouken-fest 2009"

Even when Ken scrubs get desperate they'll stop using the shoryuken and use only the hadouken. When you corner them, they try to jump over you. Guile says "STAY DOWN!" then they Shoryuken and get hit again.

I, for some reason, decided to tag hadouken-fest into the thread

I usually see Ken players jump in, fierce kick, trip you, then shoryuken you when you get up. They rinse and repeat until you counter their cheap tactic.

Indeed.
Kudos on the tag.

(Jump in HK) Normal block, (crouch HK) crouch block, (shoryuken) still crouch blocking then Hurricane Kick. Pisses them off to no end, I've had one disconnect on me before.

I gotta try that tactic, I always just trip them before they trip me/jump away from it and then go in for the offensive when I see an opening or when they're coming down from the shoryuken.

The only spammers that annoyed the hell outta me were one Vega and one El Fuerte. The Vega player trapped me in the corner and did a crouching light (or medium) punch, it almost worked too until I finally was able to jump out. The El Fuerte spammed the Habanero Dash into a body splash over and over, everytime I got up he hit me with it again, I lost that match... :bomb:

The only time I've ever lost to a Vega player is when it was a really, really good one. This guy was flying all over the place.

I had an El Fuerte kick my ass doing that before too. He was relentless, but I'm sure there's some way to get out of it, I just haven't figured it out.

Yeah, got to figure out a strategy against those types of El Fuerte players. The problem is that he's so god damned fast, in the time you take 4 steps forwards he can pull off 3 Habanero Dashes into the splash in that time span.

... Hurricane Kick after you get up? Seems to work for everything else online, even other Hurricane Kicks.

 Either that or out-spam the bastard with Gief's double lariat, that shit seems to be invincible against almost every move.

Oooh, I forgot about that, even works against Viper's ground pound. I don't know the actual name for that move of her's.

Huge reach and good damage. And pretty fast.

As for Fuerte. His body splash doesn't do armor breaking so a well timed focus should take him out of his rythm if he's body splashing alot. A good Fuerte should have a Quesidilla Bomb charged most of the time ready to go though. That does have armor breaking but needs to be pretty close. Also, Habenaro Dash Throw (HP) does not hit if you're crouching. Or at least it's never hit when I've done it. Habenaro Back Dash Thow (qcb+P, hp) does hit low though. Careful with the hurricane kicks. I've been able to Guacamole Throw and Habenaro Back Dash Thow them.

Sounds like some crazy-ass recipe .

Thanks for the tip, gotta keep that in mind the next time I run into an E.F. (too lazy to type his name over and over).

Yea, I learned that the hard way with a good El Fuerte. :whistle2:#
hey, i noticed an install option in the game. what's it for?
To install the game (not entirely) and drastically speed up loading times.
To install the game (not entirely) and drastically speed up loading times.
yeah, i figured. the game used to hang in-between fights but once i installed the load times were so much faster. thanx.

arghhhh level 3 hard time trial is ridiculous. I am good all the way up to cammy. she turns into super duper cammy. not normal kill you cammy. I am talking about assassin cammy who gets stronger as the fight goes on and doesn't even follow any type of logical fight pattern to counter.

I will beat her tonight and finish out the hard time trials.

What I have left to do:
-beat gouken on hardest
-get redo 21 challenges to get gold
-140 move trials
-200 online matches
-3 hard time trails

I feel like I have turned this game into a job. lol

Cammy's the only fighter who has the ability to completely kick your ass in no time flat during the trials, she constantly throws out Cannon Drills and if you jump to avoid it, she'll hit you with a Cannon Spike. I had to be constantly crouching and blocking to be able to counter.

A little heads up, in the 5th Hard Time Trial, Akuma and Bison will wipe you out too. Enemies have higher attack damage and earn Ultras in about 2-3 hits (get hit by 2 Ultras and it will kill you), a good tip is to jump when ever you see their Ultra meter fill since most of the time they throw it out the second they get it. The 5th level was horribly frustrating cause if I didn't get beat up by Bison or Akuma, Seth would do the job. Got gold on it, will never play that level again.

Oh, and Kenpachi, you sure you won't go insane by the time you finish everyone's move trials?

Seeing the way the AI plays Cammy in those trials is harsh. I'd hate to meet up with someone like that in a dark alley that's for sure. D:

I totally agree about cammy. she is the b**** in these challeneges. I feel like I am fighting a mind controlled super version of her only for the challenges. lol

she was very manageable until this particular trial. blanka was like that for me also until I kinda learned his pattern.

the move trials are ridiculously silly. whoever thought of these things needs companionship. lol I can undertstand the logic behind the first set of trials. but the hard ones are silly for no reason.

honestly I have more or less been using the basically same combos in street fighter since 2 and all the way up through mvc2 and alpha. not saying that I couldn't use diversity but really some of this stuff is just stupid. and as far as the more advance combos go. many are tooooo dependant of certain timing and positioning to consistenly pull off. like the holligan combo into super for cammy. I can pull it off but that juggle hit is completely impossible to get if your in the corner or close enough to it.

my suggestion for these challenges which would have been better would be to give the player certain quotas to fill to pass the level.

for example on level 1 hard it would be to pull an x amount of hits and do x amount of damage with a certain combo. this way it gives the player more freedom to create and find ways to pull off combos that are more consistent with their playing style.
Ex: when using Guile my combos focus more on using sonic booms, whereas your may focus more on getting off focus attacks into pulling off your super combo.

of course the guidelines would be different for each character but this would allow for a more open experience in my opinion.

quick question did you unlock the very last icon.
Seeing the way the AI plays Cammy in those trials is harsh. I'd hate to meet up with someone like that in a dark alley that's for sure. D:
I dunno what your talking about buddy, your cammy is just as good as the computers'. and actually you have better timing than the computer does. but if you ever got that artificial ability to play as her, then I would refuse to play you. lol

imma start a new list for fun to list everyone who I have played who's character they use is better than the cpu's on hardest. so far I know of 3

Jekki's Ryu
Jekki's Sakura
Ohvermie's Cammy

@Godlyone we gotta play each other some more cause I figure you have a few characters yourself on that list.

and if anyone wants to add to this list please tell me so we can start a CAG Fighters Hall of Fame. I know this is a little silly or whatnot but I wanna see where this can go.

It'd be great if the last icon came from buying all the alt costume DLC packs. I wouldn't put it past Capcom to do that.
I wish more people online would use this option.
I usually use the loading time to judge someone's skill. I haven't been wrong yet.

I picked up a pair of the Mad Catz Fightpads so that my brother and I could play together, but I can't seem to get them both working at the same time. Both controllers try to link up with the same wireless receiver, while the other receiver gets no signal. In fact, that receiver now gets no signal from either controller, even if it's the only one plugged in. Any ideas, anybody?

It's usually like "Oh shit did my game freeze? Wait, never mind, this person hasn't installed it yet". Yeah, those matches are guaranteed wins.

Haha, I do that too. It is a better predicting factor than the rival choosing Ken.

I have read that problem on multiple forums. Unfortunately, everyone says it is impossible to connect two controllers to one console, which is ridiculous. Most people want to do that to begin with. I hope you find a solution to connect them both.

That's what I thought when it first happened to me too. Anytime I see it load quickly, I know I'm in for one hell of a match.

then you guys haven't played against my noobsim

need the delayed patch (allows more slots in lobbies) to come out so there can be an sf4 cag night

finally finished the hard time trials and beat the game on hardest against gouken.

now I am only 1 trophy away from catching up to you godlyone. getting the title and icon trophies seem ridiculous. but anyway to get them this what I got left to do.

-redo 20 time and survival challenges to get gold medals
-35 normal move trials
-120 hard move trials
-around 200 more online matches
-and what ever is necessary for me to unlock that 365 finishes trophy.

for the normal move challenges trial 1 and 5 are the easiest it is just gettting past 3 and 4 that make it hard. those youtube videos help greatly. lol

anyway whatever I get done by the time RE5 comes out then thats what I will roll with.

Ranked matches are pissing me off so much. It is terrible getting matched up with people that have so little BP. It's lose lose. You win and get 10 points. You lose and lose 100. The matches are a waste of time. I wish I could tell what level person I am playing. Letting it be a mystery just sucks.

That's probably why they want it to be a mystery.
That's probably why they want it to be a mystery.
It won't stay a mystery for me much longer because I won't bother playing ranked matches anymore. There just isn't a big enough incentive for me to play as it is. Can't wait for the patch.

And I played my first Seth user. I have no idea what he was thinking.
I'm doing the trial for Sagat, how the hell do you throw a fake kick?
just started this as well and it makes no sense...

EDIT: looks like it is doable but you have to change the button off a trigger and onto a face button... or do it on a stick since it seems to need to be in a few frames of the animation...

Jump towards Dan then before landing mash out Roundhouse/HK.

Every match I get into the other person always-always starts it off with a jump into a roundhouse kick and they always miss.
