I forgot to mention that you need to unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Sakura, Gen, Rose, and Dan before going for Akuma. You don't need to finish arcade with the unlockables, just have them unlocked.

Wow are you serious? No way I'm good enough to meet all of those requirements at once. I hope there is an "unlock all characters" DLC because if not then I will never get to play as Akuma. The bad thing is that you cannot even use a save from someone else because its tied to your PSN tag. Trophies/Achievements have ruined this. Same goes for cheats.
 
Well you can get character unlocks even if the computer is set on easiest setting and if matches are set to one round.

It's not that bad.

Change difficulty to Easiest, make the number of rounds 1 then cheese with Ryu or Ken. Jump in, HK, crouch, HK then jump back and do it all over again. You'll never get hit. If you have problems with this then you're going to hate getting Gouken.

Gouken - After unlocking Akuma, Sakura, Dan, Cammy, Fei Long, Gen and Rose, complete the game with Akuma. Then get at least 2 perfects and 3 Ultra Finishes and don't use any continues.
 
fear not, just set your arcade match to the following
easiest
1 round
99 round

just jump in roundhouse, sweep roundhouse, backup and repeat.

Thanks for the tips guys. So far I've unlocked Sakura, Dan and Cammy. It also helped setting the time to 30 seconds, especially against Seth.
 
After trying to get Akuma 2-3 times I have yet to do so. I've tried 2-3 different things, and I follow it exactly, and he still doesn't show up after Seth. I got all the other characters before him you have to get then I tried where it said to get 2 perfects, and 2 ultra's, and don't lose of course that didn't work. Then I tried that other way that said get a perfect on the first match, and don't die. Again Akuma didn't come out. I really want to know how to unlock him xD

Have all the characters except Gouken and Seth unlocked? Beat the game with the character you're trying to beat him as already?

Correct sir. I've tried it both ways. I tried it with a character I haven't beat it with, and also tried it with a character I have neither of which worked, and I followed those things exactly. =/

If it helps in any way, I did it with Ryu. Not sure why you're not getting him.

Do you remember which one is the correct way to get him? Is it the 2 perfects, and 2 ultra's or is it a perfect during the first round, and nothing else?

To be honest... I don't know, I didn't know the definitive way, so I just kicked ass. I got a perfect where I could and if I got hit then I'd always finish with an ultra. Same way I got Gouken, except with Akuma instead of Ryu. So I'm not 100% sure.

Wait a minute... keep the timer at 99. I saw it posted somewhere that it could be a condition too.
 
Dayummm I just played a M. Bison dude and he has 1000+ online points... It was 1 each and I almost had him but he blocked my Ultra and then kicked me... damn so close!

I might be alone in thinking this but shouldn't Super combos be assigned to the revenge meter instead? I feel like, since the Ultras do so much more damage, wouldn't it be more logical to be a move you charge up for?

20 seconds in and you or your opponent already has an Ultra while it basically takes a round plus a bit to charge up the Super.
 
Is there some significance to the SF community with all this "chick" stuff. The chicken icons are super cute, but just wondering what those "chick" tiles mean (if it's negative or positive).

I also got an Akuma "10" t-shirt for Home earlier today. Not sure if it's related to playing a bunch of Akumas online and beating the crap out of them, or getting a perfect against an Akuma online (I did both when they gave me the shirt). So there's probably Home shirts for every character?

I don't think the "chicks" are anything special outside the fact that they're the first icons you get. I'm surprised how slowly I'm earning new icons given that the I am earning new titles so much faster. Oh well -- I have an icon of Sakura dashing which is pretty cool.

And yay for my 3000th post!
 
Great matches with DarkKenpachi ! I have much to learn and I got super lucky on my 2 wins. 2 out of 4 = awesome night for me. I am still getting destroyed by ken's and ryu's sweep or jump roundhouse, sweep.

The idea behind the Ultra was so your opponent can make a comeback if they're getting beat down real bad.

thanks man and Great Matches with you as well. Your Zangief is way better than you give yourself credit for and you don't use him cheaply which is very respectable. He is one of my mains and I tip my hat to you. imma hit you up in pm.

I'm getting a bit bored of facing off against all these Ryu and Ken players on Ranked matches. Bleh -- hopefully, the character choices start to spread out over time and as I go higher up the skill ladder.

Nope I haven't. I just read that, and now I know why he isn't unlocked. This other site said to beat the game with Akuma then to use Ryu to unlock him,but I don't know how true the Ryu part is.

Ryu part's not true. I beat the game with Akuma then beat it again as him, beat gouken and unlocked him

Take your time, he's not worth unlocking immediately. He's cool but takes damage like a bitch.
 
I tried unlocking some characters today and it took me over an HOUR beating Seth by using Dhalsim.... What a pos character...
