I've started this thread (rather than hijack the disscussion thread) to see some fighting game goodies I know y'all have. Post your stuff!

I'll begin:

Recently picked up the Ultimate Fighting Stick...and it kicks ass, wirelessly!

games1ge.jpg

I'd love to add a Last Bronx to that back row.

Essential training tools. The Anniversary Collection almost trumps the Alpha 2 guide. Almost.

Let's see what you've got!

That's pretty nice!! I'll post my frugal collection in a second...

I'll get some shots later. I love the blaze stick, I have one myself. Mines kinda scratched up though.

Mice collection you got their. I also got the blaze twin stick. What kind of controller is the white one you got on that first pic?

It's the Naki Ultimate Fighting Stick. It's wireless, and compatible with PS2 and Xbox . The receiver has a port for the XBL Communicator so you can get your talk on. Those two nubs are self-centering (!!!) trackballs in case you need to use the analog sticks for any purpose. Katamari Damacy becomes a whole new game with those.
The stick is very clicky, and the buttons are pretty resilient. I highly recommend it.
As VGM posted, you can get 'em at Gamestop.

sorry for the shitty pics--
MVC-018S.jpg

from left to right: SF:A for the xbox, GGX2Reload for the box, M vs. C 2 xbox, Tekken 5 w/guide, my foot, Kengo PS2, VF 4:Evo, Tobal No. 1 Ps1, Tekken Hori stick, Doa 1+2:Ultimate, DoA 3.1(Japanese version)

last but not least, my new baby:

Melty Blood for the PC! the expansion, ReAct, is in the mail too!!!!

Oh fighters. The genre I absolutely love to death, but that I suck at so horribly.

My collection is fairly weak:
http://www4.ncsu.edu/~bmsabol/fighterstuff.jpg

I was eager to get a stick last year and this was the first one I found, and having little knowledge on them I went with it. Using it now, I think i'd much rather use a "gumball" stick as opposed to that one, but I haven't found a good one out there that isn't more than i'm willing to spend.

As you can see I don't buy too many fighting games as it stands. I was excited to get Xbox Live, thinking "Hey I can play CvS 2 online with people all over the place. What a kick-ass idea," only to find that hardly anyone plays online and the people that do are EO abusing morons. Having no suitable arcade in the area, and since most of the guys I used to play with aren't around anymore, my interest in the genre just faded away.

yea, no one really plays fighters in the arcade in raleigh...just DDR...

wow... that ultimate stick is amazing! I will probably order one of those babys... any other input about it? I clicked the gamestop link thinking that it would be going for $99.99... and it's $40! jeeze, nice price for (what seems to be) a great stick! any cheaper prices? if not... i'll still get it if people think it's worth it. I've been shopping around for a stick to start training on, and so far the only other stick that I have considered is the tekken 5 stick.

one other question: how is the battery life (if any at all)? and what size batterys does it take?

The Hori Real Arcade Pro is supposed to be the best. I saw a thread over at shoryuken where they bashed that Naki stick.

Sega Saturn Twin Stick with a Virtua Fighter Kids instruction card?! AWESOME!!!
one other question: how is the battery life (if any at all)? and what size batterys does it take?
Three AAA's. I've had it for three weeks now and haven't replaced the batteries. I haven't been playing too much in the last week, so I can't really speak for the battery life. I prefer it to the Tekken 5 stick, the buttons are more resistent and it feels sturdier. Just my preference, though. I'd encourage you to try both.

And keeping with the theme, I've dug out another batch:
mkii9cf.jpg

Mortal Kombat II ruled our lives in college. We had a dry erase board with ALL of the moves written on it, hung under the TV for easy access. Wake up, MK II. Back from class, MK II. Fire alarm at 3:30 a.m. during finals week that causes you to stand outside in the frigid tundra, thereby erasing the need for sleep...yup, MK II. We played on the Genny, but the 32X version takes the cake.

Here's most of my fighting game collection:

fightcag001.jpg

Seen here are my two Agetec DC Arcade Sticks, two Namco Arcade Sticks, two Nuby Street Fighter Anniversary controllers and my Kasumi Love Pillow.
Fabulous! What's different in DOA 3.1?

I can not believe I forgot these:
**********

Best...handheld...fighting...EVER!!!
basically, the U.S. version was rushed to meet launch and is like 2.5.

3.1 has about 50 more moves throughout the characters, they loosened up hit tracking so that the sidestep is worth a damn, changed a ton of hit properties, balanced the characters better and added new tag throw animations. Also, all those costumes in the booster pack are in the game.

So if you ever hear someone say that the booster pack updates the U.S. version to the Japanese version, kick em in the nards.

Bonus fact: the PAL version is considered 3.2-- the only difference from 3.1 is that Hayate's cartwheel, an almost completely broken move, has been fixed.

Those neo pocket games look fun. those systems and games are pretty cheap, aren't they?
those systems and games are pretty cheap, aren't they?
NCSX has 'em in stock for $39.00. Linky.

Capcom Fighting Evo. and SVC Chaos had guides? Where the hell was I? NICE PILLOW!

I'd love to throw up some pictures of my SF Controllers for XBox, but they both crapped out on me. Played once each, put 'em away, plugged 'em back in, nothing. I have a friend who had the same problem with two others. Anyone else have some that still work?

Anyone out there have Eternal Champions? My wife and I used to play that to death.
I'll own the Sega CD version of that some day.
is the SF: anniversary collection guide helpful on advance techniques?
If I may suggest an alternative, you should download this video:

http://www.combovideos.com/page.php?id=118 (99MB download)

I don't know if you have to register on the site to download the video (I believe some files require that you register first). But that video will show you the "basics" (read: advanced) techniques in SFIII:3S. It covers super cancelling, negative edge, cancels/links and kara-throwing.
is the SF: anniversary collection guide helpful on advance techniques?
Extremely helpful. There's even a glossary if you haven't the faintest idea what a kara-cancel or a red parry is.

And now, with the help of the bathroom mirror, the SFA 3 t-shirt I'm presently wearing:

sfa34wx.jpg

if any of you guys play street fighter annivesary (xbox), i'd like a friend request please :D...need more people to play this with :)

Awesome shirt Darkside. That reminds me, I forgot that I had the SFAC t-shirt hanging up in my closet.

swetooth9, I have SFAC for Xbox and I'll add you the next time I log into Xbox Live. My gamertag is Socheata.

Socheata and Swetooth, I'll add both of you guys next time I'm on-- in case you beat me to it-- my tag is sonic docta. Look me up if you wanna garnish your wins :p

if you people are so interested in fighters, then why don't I see some of you post in the general fighter discussion thread? we have some good banter there as well as some matches being held.

Most of these pictures turned out shitty but hey what can you do?

No the Xbox stick isn't dirty (I think those are wierd scratches brought out by the flash), and yes that is a rug for toy cars.
wow... VGM, you ever consider getting a Neo Geo pocket Color? that fact that you like 2d fighters alot, it's worth more than what it costs. I reccomend it.
When money isn't so tight, yes. I missed the estarland deal.
if you people are so interested in fighters, then why don't I see some of you post in the general fighter discussion thread? we have some good banter there as well as some matches being held.
Add in DDFFNY, DJV, Rumble Roses and DOA 2 for DC (forgot about that one)
See my collection!
And to VGM, how's Fighter's Megamix on Game.com?
Couldn't tell you. I lost mine before I got the chance to play it.
Nice collection, Guile.
I knew someone would have Eternal Champions! Do you have another?

And to VGM, how's Fighter's Megamix on Game.com?

There are games in there? They look like artbooks.
Thanks guys.

I got lucky a few years ago and found EC: CD at the flea market. They don't get much in the way of Sega CD stuff anymore but I'll keep an eye out.

Fighters Megamix is hard to play on the Game.com. The motion is too blurry to do much (think 1st generation Gameboy blurry). Still its a decent conversation piece.

the stick is very click? are you sure its any good  hows the rotation is it like the Tekken square rotation or full 360?

Its too late and I don't feel like dragging out all of my wrestling/fighting games. So I just grabbed my import wrestling games. I haven't bought any new ones in a long time, I need to add some more.
There are games in there? They look like artbooks.
From top left
street fighter eternal challenge info/art book
3rd strike bible

street fighter anniversary limited edition

nothing too rare, but nobody posted anything import so I thought I'd put those up

Ooo... I'm loving this thread.

I'm a huge collector on arcade sticks... Whether they be Hori, ASCII, Agetec, MAS, Sanwa, Seimitsu, etc... I have tons... maybe 30 or so... I'll take pictures of the ones I have with me at the moment in a bit. Gonna take awhile to unpack them all...

To those of you that purchased the Tekken 5 Strat Guide from BradyGames, what did you think of it? Feedback would be appreciated(I helped write the guide).

I'm pretty much a Tekken fan, but I do have a healthy collection of fighting games/fighting game stuff. I'll see what I can muster up.

Well here are a few of my games, not all. I got more fighting games in my room but was too lazy to sneak in there and grab them without waking anyone up... (It's 4 AM right now in San Diego)...

Before posting the pictures, I'd like everyone to know I am an HUGE Tekken fan and of course I love all kinds of fighting games too. You may notice multiple copies of certain games... and think... What would someone do with 3 copies of Tekken Tag Tournament??? :scratches head: Well I also run tournaments and host gatherings regularly where a large group of friends and I just battle it out in varous games. So that's why. I'll take pictures of my joysticks/toys/posters/controllers/standees/crap tomorrow.

Unpacking the fighting games took longer than I thought... the hard part was locating them...

*cough* Vampire Chronicle in the first post *cough*

I'd toss up a pic of my Super Puzzle Fighter II X import, but alas, my wife has taken the camera to the Cubs game.

If this were a tournament, MarkMan would win. Can't wait for pictures of the joysticks!
How's SFA 2 on the SNES?
