Got my copy from newegg today. Looks great, just a few scuffs at the bottom. Love the outside packaging (haven't opened it yet).

One thing I found strange was, in the box was a Buy.com mini catalog. Are Buy.com and newegg owned by the same company or something? I've seen advertisements in my packages before, but never a pamphlet, especially one from a competitor so I was just wondering.
You can't because they will remember the copy they sold you not containing any dents and so when you try to return it they will say hey this is not ours. Ours did not have any dents when we sold it to you.
:lol::lol:...simply ridiculous. Do you honestly believe that minimum wage retail employees would remember an individual customer's purchase and the exact condition of the items sold, let alone give a shit? Never mind the fact that there is a 99.9% chance you won't even be dealing with the same employees. Hell, you don't even need to leave and come back later - simply purchase the mint copy of the item you want, walk out to the car, exchange the mint version with the dinged version, walk back into the store and go to customer service for a full refund.

SPOILER: they don't get paid ENOUGH to care. especially around the holidays.

I knew you were being sarcastic.
But there are some really stupid people posting in this thread though, huh?

Motherfucking Amazon.

So I ordered it, got two notifications on tracking. On amazon it says it's been in hayward for like 2 days in processing while on the USPS site tracking says it was delivered 2 days ago.

So I talk to amazon and I get this:

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you haven't received your Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition. Normally I'd create a replacement order for you, but I can't do that in this case because the Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition isn't available anymore.

I checked our website and see this item is available from other sellers. You can check out those offers here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0049DYNNO/

Since I'm not able to issue a replacement order, we will be able to refund you $29.99, the price of the Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition when you originally ordered it.

If you want us to process the refund please contact us again for confirmation, so that we can better assist you.

I hope this solution works for you. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank you for your recent inquiry. Did I solve your problem?

If yes, please click here:

If no, please click here:

And it's sold out everywhere near me. fuck.

To be fair, it's not Amazon's fault if USPS lost it, or if they've sold out in the meantime. I'd point the rage at USPS, personally. As far as Amazon goes, it's pretty cool of them to refund your money in full just on your word that you didn't get it.

Actually jsut got off the live chat. Guess what. No refund. USPS says it was delivered. So I'm out $30 with nothing to show for it. Great.

edit: yea I guess my rage is a little extreme but $30 is alot of money for a semi-poor college student so I dunno. Hopefully it turns up or something.

They did the same thing with me one time when my package said "delivered" and I didn't get it. Then I found out where it was delivered to and I got it. I then contacted Amazon and told them to recharge me the amount. Some might think that was crazy of me, but it's only fair I feel.

Relax. Contact Amazon again by email. If they offered you the refund they have to give it to you. You should also inquire at your local post office. It's possible that it's still there, or the mailman could figure out who they may have delivered it to.

Hm . . . I don't think I'd have pushed my luck after the first message where they said they'd give you a full refund (if they don't have it, they don't have it, what is bothering them more about it going to do?), but at this point I'd just keep on them. Call them (they tend to be much better on the phone than on chat) and talk to them about it again. Results tend to vary greatly from one customer service rep to another, so if you have to, do it a few times. I've had a couple of instances in my many years of dealing with Amazon where an item hasn't arrived for whatever reason, and they've always been good about replacing the item or refunding my money.

Oh in the first email they asked me to go to chat to confirm I wanted a refund.

Amazon Prime FTW. You will have less issues with shipping and dealing with USPS.

This game is selling for ~40 average on Ebay now, steadily going up. Copies on Amazon are going for 45+, just based on watching the "Only x left in stock" (despite being offered at cheaper prices from other sellers). This is definitely gaining value and there's still a lot of time before christmas.

i wonder if the ones at target will go on clearance, just came back from local target and they had about 4 left with the spider alarm on it so the boxes were damaged.....target is freakin retarded, why do they always put those spider alarms on cardboard boxes even though it damages them oh well dumbass moves by target means cheaper games for cags

I ordered 2 off Amazon a few weeks back. They've arrived safe and sound and now I'm reluctant to play it . . . if they spike up enough, I would sell them. Has anyone played the game? How do the graphics come off on a big screen?

So I need some advice. I got my copy at launch, it's in perfect condition. But then I found out my sister got it for me for Christmas. I planned on opening and playing the game.

Do you guys think I should return the one I got from Walmart since i'll be getting another copy anyway? Or should I hold on to this one and keep it sealed, since i'll have the other one coming to play?

But, but, but.........then you can't sell it for a bazillion dollars because it's not mint!.............you don't think anyone would buy it to play it, do you? The HORROR! :whistle2:#

I opened mine and played it. It's exactly the same as the SNES version. You honestly could hook up your SNES to your big screen and it would be exactly the same.

look I'm not a hoarder and didn't go to target to buy 8 of em to sell, just saw it while in the gaming area and your telling me if you had a chance to get a copy with no damage and copy with damage you will just pick up the damaged copy because you only care to play it? Even if you are not a collector why would you not care and just get a messed up box when you are paying 30 dollars plus tax?
Obviously if you can't find another good copy and you are not a collector then okay but do you really think people just take up a damaged box to the register and not complain and not try to get a price reduction?

I never had the SNES version. I probably have 1 or 2 of the SMB games on GBA. I pre-ordered from Amazon very early with a credit. My kids love Mario games so it is to play. I figure the cart for SNES is going for $20 or so on eBay, so for less after credit I can get it on the wii. Just chiming in as a buyer of 1 copy to play. It is a Christmas present for the kids.

ASIDE: But if it hits $60 on eBay before Christmas the kids get coal in their stockings and the Grinch makes some money. MuuHaaahaaahaaa!

All that delivery confirmation means to USPS is that it was scanned at the post office. I have had several packages show delivered 3-4 hours before anything shows up in my mailbox. Time to go to the post office and have a little sitdown with somebody.;)

I went and they were like "oh well your loss. we delivered it to your address two days ago. you didn't get it? sucks to be you" obviously the didn't say sucks to be you but that was essentially the message I got. I'm done with all of this. Amazon can keep the $30 and I'm done. Merry Christmas indeed.

Maybe it was stolen or accidently delivered to the wrong address.

Holy Crap...........it was sarcasm. I said "bazillion" for crying out loud. It was meant for all the people peeing themselves over making money on "mint" un-opened copies of this game, Not you..........

I bought my copy at Wal-mart and every single one they had was scuffed from the box they came in.....

If you want any chance at getting the delivery, you must contact your local PO. Ask them to check with your carrier. I have had the DC say it was delivered on a day when the carrier handed me the mail directly and it was not there. When I contacted the PO, it showed up the next day. The carrier found it behind the seat of the delivery van.

EDIT: Also ask your neighbors if they received a delivery addressed to you by mistake.

Ridiculous box, sharp corners, still has a small tear in the cover.
Also I just went to bestbuy today to check and they still had 27 left, guess not much interest. So much for being rare.
It depends where you live. I would say the fact that this isn't available at any major retailers online anymore would indicate that there is limited inventory. I wouldn't say it's rare, but in a few months I'm positive it'll be much harder to find in stores.
Just received a couple orders from AWD. Both arrived undamaged and its in near mint from which I paid for $17.99 & $18.99 respectively. :D
The box on my 17.99 one from AWD was pretty fucked up.

oops...shouldve figured with the:lol: on your post....yea its sad to see people buying games and hoping it becomes rare, rather then buying to play it. I too only bought one copy with little scuffs all over the place and its crazy to see people go mental over something you can barely freakin notice

The guys at Best Buy were pretty cool and opened a box right in front of me because I was looking for a mint copy. Funny thing is the boxes either had printing issues (the blue/white streaks), or had a dented box, there was no "Mint" copy, haha. It's like Nintendo purposely beat up the boxes of the ones without blemishes. I got the best one I could find in the two boxes they brought out. Has a small blemish on the bottom, so you can't see it when I put it on display.

ok guys i bought 5 copies today at BB, last copies! gonna drive 60 miles to pick up more. have an employee held them for me tmrw! these will be going on ebay! kthxbai

I still don't see why people are buying so many copies, I went to 5 different stores the last 2 days looking for dvds, and I checked to see if they had All Stars in stock and they all did... A shit load of them.

I bought 10 ... but I'm not selling them, I'm destroying them ... to increase the value of the other 20 copies I've put in storage

You know I'm seriously thinking of opening my copy in just a few mins. I was thinking of selling it on ebay but then realized how stupid I was being.
