Well, to tell the truth, I have never been a fan of Warner Bros cartoons because I never felt that characters hitting each other was all that funny. Or at least it wasn't funny for as long as others seemed to think it was. A hits B on head...B hits A on foot... C blows both up with dynamite. For me that only goes so far.
In any case, I think video games are a different beast. They are much more repetitive then TV (which isn't to say that TV isn't repetitive, but TV shows are on and then they are over, where as a video game gets played again and again and the characters moves are performed over and over in virtually or literally identical way, and, of course, they are highly interactive. I don't think you can quite so easily compare them. However, I am no psychologist, just a Dad.
I'm getting convinced that Brawl is probably not a great idea until they are older. They've got the original for now, and that will do. They'll get their fill of opponent burning that way.

I appreciate the info!
Personally, I have not felt bad playing brawl in front of my daughter (17 months). It just doesn't feel all that violent to me.
Also, as a newb who has played against experienced CAGers they are gentle to you at first, but they will always let you know you are a catcher not a pitcher.
