thats the day I go back to school. Well, at least I have something to look forward to...

Just because the Dojo is taking a holiday doesn’t mean that the news stops! The gang over at Brawl Central has been piecing bits together from the various Japanese blogs that reported on their Jump Festa play time. Huge thanks to Chitownz for the heads up!

This info may not be all that new for those that often frequent the smash boards.

- Kirby’s Final Smash = roughly 35% damage
- The Soccer Ball item catches fire when used. It cannot be countered or caught.
- Clock item slows down time, which makes your opponents slower. This lasts for a certain amount of time. You can also get a clock that will screw up, and slow you down instead.
- Lucas’s PK Freeze is more maneuverable than Ness’s PK Flash
- Snakes’s land mines don’t detonate based on proximity. They are remote controlled.
- New FE Music: “The Kingdom of Bern”
- Regigigas, Metagross, Onix and Garchomp can come out of a Pokeball. Metagross = Earthquake, Onix = same move from Super Smash Bros., Regigigas = Crush Grip (this move not confirmed)
- Rosalina’s AT: Luna hovers around the board and will toss star bits. These can be used to recover damage. A luna follows Rosalina around.
- Pit and the Pokemon Trainer talk during their final smash. Pokemon Trainer - “Take That! Triple Finish!”
- Wario is powerful, but has a lot of start-up lag.
- Pegasus Knight = AT
- Zelda’s Din’s Fire has been Nefred a bit

Regigigas = Regie? Oh my god he is in brawl and he is taking names!

The Japanese Everyone's Nintendo Channel is supposed to have Brawl videos up and down the place. I'mma try to navigate those moon language menu's and see whats up with them.

Video 1 is E3 2006 video, then some Nintendo World video, both of these are on the website. Then it concludes with something from 10/2007, most of the footage seems like I've seen it before somewhere.

Video 2 is the Subspace Emmisary video. So its basically all the website stuff made available for people who dont check it.

Watching Brawl on the tv with a wii controller in my hand though. So damn close :drool::drool:

Smashboards reports that, in addition to all of that:

Sothe (Fire Emblem) is an AT.
Castform and Gardevoir are Pokemon Balls.
Kirby's dash move has been changed to the YoYo spin kick seen here @ 1:33- http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26662.html
Pit's Down B is a Mirror Shield that deflects all damage.
Mario's Tornado is now his Down Air.
Fox has been nerfed.

The best news here is the Kingdom of Bern music. Come on, Hector! Even if he ends up bottom tier, I'll still play him.

What's with Kirby's smash? Does it have side-effects or something? 35% is pretty weak. And why was Din's Fire nerfed? Maybe it's because nobody ever used Zelda in her natural form, but that spell seemed nothing special to begin with.

Apparently it does 35% to everyone it sucks in and spits out some recovery items. From the videos I've seen (very crappy quality) I couldn't tell exactly what, but it appears to be 3 items at a time.

thanks for the info. I could swear nintenod are just putting random pokemon in the game. that being said, garchomp is awesome. also: Rosalina AT is EXACTL&Y as I imagined she would be used.

Good to hear at least SOMETHING about Kirby. Also, nice to hear that Onix is back. I missed him.

Din's Fire getting nerfed? When was it good in the first place?

I'm definitely getting pretty excited about this game, its just so disappointing there won't be voice chat. Back in the day, it didn't matter b/c I was in school and always had tons of people to play with, but now I live with a non-gaming fiance and the only multiplayer I'll get is online. Oh well, although quiet it will still be one hell of a brawler.

Absolutely fucking fascinating. When does the book come out?

I know! Someone posting their thoughts about a game in a thread specific to that game? Who the fuck does he think he is?

Take the hint. Everyone hates you. Get out.

Oh, hooray! We should be getting a new update(s) in a few hours! \\:D/

With about 5 weeks away (OMG), I wonder how much more info they will give us?
I don't think after a week of the site being on vacation that it would be TOO much to ask for a really awesome update to start the week. But we'll probably get something like Zelda's moves.
Next update: Game delayed.
Crap...that sounds like a perfect time to announce it too

Anyways, I'm gunna go out on an optimistimic limb and say Viewtiful Joe is announced as a playable character

I wonder though, if they plan on stopping updates upon Japan's release. It's not like it won't be possible to find the majority of the games secrets within a few hours after it's initial release.

I do kind of hope we get something nice coming back, since this is the first break the dojo has had since what it started in May...

I can't believe we'll be playing this in a month :bouncy:

I've always thought myself to be pretty awesome at Melee. I can't wait to play some CAGs to see how I compare to everyone here. I've been told I'm one of the best around here I live, so I think I'll do alright.

I do need to get good with someone other than Samus though.

I think I'm decent, but since I never did anything like wavedashing on melee, I think I'll get my ass handed to me pretty well online.

I just can't wait to play me some Lucas (and still hold out hope for Ness). I'm pretty excited about PK Freeze.

I never learned to wavedash either. I mastered, bomb jumping, fishing, and missle canceling, but I never got wavedashing. But as long as I can kick most people's asses, I'll be happy.

You can still kick ass without it though. My brother's friend has a growing list of people he's beat playing with only one hand. (I'm on the list :whistle2:(). He's too damn good at Smash.

He lurks these forums too

I'm pissed as fuck that I'll miss out on online for the first several months. I guess I'll just use those extra months to allow my hatred - my rage - for all of you to transform me into an unstoppable force on the battlefield!

EDIT: I hate your brother's friend especially. Lurkers make me want to HULK SMASH!! Isn't that right, Jarvis307? Yeah. He knows what I'm talking about.

Why won't you be able to play online?

Hrmph. This September, you two will be the last ones up against the wall when the revolution comes.

And by the revolution, I mean my moving to an area where there are options besides dial-up.

Redone levels from Melee.

The US site hasn't updated yet, but the Japan site already has the update.

"Is this a lavish feast or what?"

5 old stages today. Not the greatest update, but not the worst update either.
I'm very happy the Great Fox level is back, I played that one a lot.

It's there now.

I really hope they keep Final Destination in. That map is ideal for most of Samus's little tricks.

Also, seeing the Corneria level reminded me about something my brother drew. (Yes. It's a little late for Snakes on a Plane jokes, but this one is still relevent):

I'm lazy - which Brinstar is back? Rising lava/acid Brinstar, or Kraid Attacks! Brinstar?

I still want the N64 Zelda level back. Though really, it made no sense. Tornadoes on top of Hyrule Castle? What the fuck?

Cool! Those are four good stages (Yoshi Island, Onett, Corneria, Brinstar) and one that I hated: Rainbow Ride isn't the worst stage in SSBM, but it's pretty lame, IMO. If you asked me to make a list of all the stages from SSBM that I want in SSBB, in order of first to last pick, Rainbow Ride would be, like, third or fourth from the bottom, surpassing only Ice Climbers and Poke-floats.
I'm lazy - which Brinstar is back? Rising lava/acid Brinstar, or Kraid Attacks! Brinstar?
The Rising acid, three-platform Brinstar. I'm really happy it's that one; I didn't like Kraid Attacks that much.

Also, in case anyone else was wondering, Corneria is the side-view Fox level. Again, I liked that one more than the front view one.
