Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info
So this 'Pokemon Trainer' is an actual brawler? Will he kick and punch like everyone else?
Nope, he stands in the background.
Who needs Charizard or Ivysaur? Squirtle is the bomb-diggity.
I think he's inclined to agree.

Not regarding today but I was thinking about Assist trophies. You know how in Melee there were certain Pokemon that just had a higher % of coming out than others? I wonder if the Assist trophies will be like that OR if they will be completely random.

Another thing on my mind is if there will be special ones too..Ya know how the Rare pokemon came out and took some names?? Wonder if they will be a few assist trophies to REALLY do a number of damage..AND who will they be?!

There's nearly 500 Pokemon, and clearly they all won't be in Pokeballs. But the number of people they can use in Assist trophies just seem to endless.

I have no idea where this whole amazement with the assist trophies came from, but it really just hit me now about how cool it really is!

You bring up a good point, lilboo. I expect some lame trphies to show up all the time (kinda like how the Unown and Cyndaquil never stopped arriving in Melee).

speaking of rare pokemon from pokeballs i saw mew come out when me and my cousins were tryin to beat event 51 again, though the comp threw the pokeball though

Oooo, gliding!

"Characters like Pit, Meta Knight and the Pokémon Trainer’s Charizard are envied at first glance for their wings.

Rumor has it they can use those wings to sail through sky like gliders. But that can’t be true, can it?"

Edge guarding may be a thing of the past with new tether recoveries and gliding

And I guess this squashes rumors of PT pallete swaps that change the Pokemon as well, none of the other fire starters can fly.

AND I hope the pallete swap for PT will have black Charizard and sunglasses Squirtle at the same time.

I rather doubt it will be broken. Gliding is hardly better than Peach's parasol. You slowly lose height, you cant change direction, and you can get interupted.

Tethering is only a refinement of what Samus and Link can already do.

Floating still beats the crap out of gliding.

You can change directions with Peach. With both her float AND her parasol.
You can change directions with Peach. With both her float AND her parasol.
it looks like.. from the screens.. that you MAY be able to get some height from the glide.. so it might not be just a slow one directional fall.

Ohh wait, nevermind  I thought he had mentioned you CAN'T change directions when Peach uses her parasol! Clearly, that's NOT what he said LOL

Yeah, the Glide is kinda cool..I wonder if more then 3 people will have it. And while they are at it, can they just give us a damn profile for Meta-Knight already?!

I was thinking more along the lines of not being able to change which way she is facing when parasoling. I guess you can change which direction you are floating though.
^ It's a simple matter of ratios. A 5 foot wingspan cannot carry a one ton dragon.
That depends if the charizard was caught in Africa or Europe.

Gliding sounds sweet...and I just saw yesterday's update, but they only featured 6 of the supposed 9 moves for pk trainer

anyways that rock smask move doesn't have me excited...doesn't look as good as the rest of the game
That depends if the charizard was caught in Africa or Europe.
I always assumed it had to do with the higher body temperature, causing a displacement versus the surrounding air.

Surely someone here by now should have compiled a collection of every marginally significant Nintendo character with wings by now... does cape mario count?

Those past couple of updates have been awesome.

The gliding looks to be an improved version of Peach's hover. I just hope it's not much more than that, or the Pokemon Trainer might end up being one of the most powerful characters in the game, with that much versatility. He looks pretty well balanced, though.

not sure if it is an actual stage or more of a mini game type deal. Just going by the description given in the captions. But if it is an actual level I am curious to how it will play.

Looks like a stage that either randomly switches hazards every few minutes, or there's some sort of switch. Definitely would look better in motion, as the screenshots make it look like they just photoshoped some characters onto the mini-game backgrounds.

That may be the point, ala Flatworld. Many Warioware minigames are intentionally flat and poorly animated.
Every few MINUTES?

Guy, WarioWare games last SECONDS. They'll probably change every 7 seconds.
Man, that would make that stage either lousy or awesome. Tactics!, We dont need no stinking tactics!

I have to say that this stage definitly mixes things up a bit. You can't focus solely on the other characters, you have to focus on the stage and what current "mini-game" it's on.

I am rather curious about the prizes it details.

It looks like Nintendo's been saving the best stages for last after all. Every new stage that has been revealed in the past has been cooler than the one before it (for the most part).

Allright eveyrbody, Ikohn4ever and I need a little help settling a score.

I am sorry my special cousin Jimmie just got a computer and sadly i told him about CAG, now thats all his lil brain remembers.

Oh and he is about as good at SSBM as a fat person in a tightrope competion

The Wario Ware stage looks great. I can't wait to play it. It's too bad they don't usually post videos on the Dojo, I would love to see a short clip of the level to see what it's like in motion.
Looks pretty good.

I must say, the introduction of gliding seems to me to be a pretty big indicator that Paper Mario will be playable.
all the characters they show have wings to glide, paper mario would just float, like peach.
