Battleship Halberd - stage

Pretty dull week so far, to me at least.
I love Fire Emblem, so I like this update.

Me too. Tho, I'm guessing Eliwood will probably be playable. He's pretty generic, like the other playable FE characters so far :p
there are already 4 sword chars and as much as i like eliwood, i'd prefer hector with his wolf beil or perhaps ephraim with a lance, something besides a sword or maybe a laguz to mix things up

Not bad. Kinda similar to the Lylat Cruise level, but I thought that one looked neat, so I don't mind them going to the well a second time.

The levels that fly all over the place really make me wish for a Power Stone game on Wii.

Does anyone think that they'll bring back some (or maybe even all) of the levels from Melee? I would love to play them again in Brawl, I doubt it would be hard to bring them over and graphically upgrade them from the Melee versions.

I think they should include every stage from the past that isn't too similar to new ones. A lot of the new ones are pretty much the same place with a bit of an update anyway.

I'd think an additional Fire Emblem character would just be a clone of Ike, since that's the deal with Roy and Marth. But since Ike uses a heavier, two-handed sword, maybe Hector would be more similar? It'd just seem weird to me, since I consider Eliwood to be the main guy of Fire Emblem.

I haven't played Sacred Stones yet, but a guy with a lance would be neat.

Ike handles Ragnell with one hand if i'm remembering correctly, and any another FE char as a main will probably be Eliwood. I do like the swordy's but it'd be nice if they threw in someone beefy like Gatrie or Oswin or someone who uses an axe (boyd?) or a lance (nephenee or ephraim?). All in all this game is gonna be epic, regardless of which new chars are announced :)

Power stone beats all

Brawl fails to have levels like power stone.

I agree that this week has been on the light side in terms of good updates. Hopefully they'll finish off the week with a new character or something similar.
What? This update is pretty awesome, imo!

Who KNOWS what kind of options you'll have! I'm sure there's a TON of options!
Agreed, this along with some of the other updates really show the game is moving more and more towards being a customization dream come true. They are really building in almost infinite replay. There really aren't that many fighters with this kind of customization, and therefore depth.
Another weak update.
You mean EXPANDED CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS is weak? What's wrong with you?

Not much of a consolation, but this confirms the return of several items from Melee (Mushrooms, Bunny Hood, Metal Cap, Cloaking Device). Second such update this week.

awesome update, me and my friends used to play giant melee with uber shrooms, metal boxes, bunny hoods and fans, all on final destination ;)

Totally saw this coming...well at least the full metal part since in melee you had to face 3 metal samus' so I figured it would happen but this is better than I expected

Remember, Pokemon Stadium 2 has a low gravity/jumping higher part. This+Pokemon Stadium 2 could be quite fun.

Also, I belive that Pokemon Stadium will be making a return.

Who misses the N64 Mario Bros. stage? The pipes rocked so hard.

QFT,

I recall an interview with the lead when he said he went into the studio Nintendo formed for him to meet with his new team to find out that the future developers had managed to play thousands, if not tens of thousands of Melee matches.

Brawl is being made by hardcore Smash Bros fans. I only hope that they manage to maintain the pick-up and play nature that made a round of Melee fun to play with someone who only knows Nintendo from its NES days.
I like how fuzzy they look.
Yea its all fluffy and airy. Glad to have them back cause I coulda sworn in an interview awhile back they said they wouldn't be returning.

Finally Gamefaqs can shut up about "so and so isn't returning." I think this shows everyone will be back (ok minus gay clones like Pichu and Young Link).

Welcome back Ice Climbers.

If the IC are back... this bodes well for Pichu and G&W. If those three return.. then EVERYONE is back... things are looking GREAT.

Awww Ice Climbers! They look all fuzzy! ::hugs::

But seriously, I used to love to attack Nana first and kill her off and call Po-Po out. He aint NUTTIN w/o Nana

Amazing. I was about to come in here and say

"Does anyone remember how that bullshit Gamefaqs rumor stayed ALIVE for months and months and months, despite being completely fake?"

And here's someone mentioning it!

:p

I'm loving how none of these characters are supposed to be real, and yet..they have such real details. I'm really looking at the Ice Climbers..and their furry coats and boots are amazing looking! Their wooden hammers are just really awesome looking too!

............is it December 3rd yet?!

Awesome. I never liked the Ice Climers that much, but it's cool that they're bringing them back.

And does anyone else think that the fuzzy fur trim around their coats is really impressive-looking?

And for that reason I'd say that is the most important update that they've ever thrown up.
apparently those same guys actually WORE OFF the friction circles on the analog of the gc controller, insane i tell you
You've never had that happen? Mine aren't totally worn off, but it's close.
Awesome. I never liked the Ice Climers that much, but it's cool that they're bringing them back.
