I was referring to actual tournament players. It's understandable that the devs play thousands of games, I would expect that of people working on an incredible franchise. However, it'd be nice to see input from actual tourny (ranked) players, not that the devs can't possibly be of professional calibur. But those high ranked players aren't just up there for show, they've most likely spent as much if not more time playing Melee than one of those so called hardcore devs.
I just hope the game doesn't become something where every move gets a cutscene, even for something like Wario picking his nose.
It's pretty obvious many people have extremely high expectations for this game. I just hope Sakurai's team can meet at least most of them.
edit: another note, if I'm not mistaken, there haven't been any dominating Japanese SSBM players at any one time, so it'd be nice if Sakurai actually got some opinion from the States (I'm assuming harbors one of the bigger, if not the largest Smash fanbase). I mean, that poll they did a while back was pretty much for the Japanese fanbase, while the US fans were expecting a similar one (which never came).
