Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info
I ain't SCRRED 'uh no Suko!
What's the matter, scared? :)

Don't worry, my Wii has been collecting dust most of the summer and will probably continue to do so until Tales of Symphonia 2 comes out. I'm sure my skills have gone down slightly.
Oh my!

FallMoon was on her A-game, and therefore she handily defeated me with ZSS. They were always rather close, with it coming down the last life for each of us, but she never lost as the suit.
I can vouche for her skill as ZSS, she easily thrashed my lucario (in fact I don't think I've ever lost that badly before)

However, VENGEANCE will be mine :bomb:

I need to play fallmoon after all this hub bub about her. I can always use someone else to kick my butt!

I'm up for a few games since I'm updating my FC list anyway... If anyone is there.
Good games VidPower.
good games indeed
I guess I'll go ahead and enter EVO since its Aug 8-10 and I'll pretty much be in the neighborhood anyway around that time frame.
I'll be at EVO for all three days myself, so if you want to play a few casuals there, let me know.

Superb games Mad D! How long did we play? A few hours? You've helped my game tremendously with spot-dodging.

I think I had the most trouble against your Metaknight. Who's my most difficult character for you?

My favorite matches were on the Zelda, Pikmin, Metal Gear, and Fire Emblem stages. Those were truly epic battles! I'm so glad that we allowed multiple stages. It gets boring playing the same 4 over and over and over.

Thanks for the marathon Mark, I needed the practice. I hate that my two main characters are probably the lightest in the game. I got to learn how to control that shuttle loop. Good counter pick level with Shadow Moses.

edit:
Rob will always give me trouble. You helped me out a lot too, think we played for about 2 hours. I haven't played that long since April and I'm sure it was the same for you too.

Before having friend codes, I used to like playing online.

Now there's a bunch of noobs who either:
1) Always pick Hyrule Temple
2) Run like it's some marathon
3) Taunt all day and at the end, the stats show 0% Damage Given.

fuckin' pathetic.

We were all were on the same page. Nothing wrong with that. YOu were just an unwilling participant. You should have taken it willingly.
Doh. I was wrong about being able to go to EVO. I wont be through that area until early September, I dont know why I thought early August.
Oh okay, it's cool.

In other news, Brawl Snapshots is my new favorite site.
GGs dmunkee. Who's Randal? That guy kicked my @ss a lot of times. Now I know how it feels to lose often :whistle2:(
What character did he pick to counter pick ROB?
What character did he pick to counter pick ROB?
That's a secret ;) but the character he chose did not allow me to camp. Regardless, though, he's really good at Snake, Sonic, Marth, and ?. His Sonic was the fastest Sonic I've seen! He blazed from one end to the other constantly w/o making any foolish mistakes.

I just did a lot of training being aggressive w/ R.O.B and I'd like a rematch one day.

Lol. When I mained in Ike, I couldn't use projectiles and guess what happened? I got fucked! Look at the Lucario match, hero. I spot dodged and shielded like no tomorrow and I still got pwned.

Look at the best players on CAG and look at what characters they use. Can you name one CAG that does not have a good projectile spamming game? I can only think of one and that's FallMoon's MK & ZSS.

One of the best strategies to winning on Brawl is to irritate your opponent into making mistakes. I'm sure I piss a lot of CAGs with laser, gyro, and dsmash.

Nah Marc doesn't spam too much we just all fall for his trap over and over again (of him shooting projectiles and when we get close enough he spins).

Mad D is right.

You guys should see Joe and I duke it out. The matches take forever because we're 'throwing' a party. 5+ minutes guaranteed.

Hey, I was Randl, just using my real name so some of my friends that just started getting into smash can recognize me easier. Dark was a friend of mine who was playing locally in our matches as well.

Anyway, good games! It's been awhile since we've played :D with the move from FL to CA, maybe our matches won't lag as much

Oh so it was Snake and Sonic then ;)

Snake is ridiculously good against ROB since he can do dash attack into upsmash which covers him and is difficult to counter. I got torched by the BC champ who mained as snake. Dieslow was his nickname and he definitely earned that one.

Umm...no, he is not good against ROB. Snake's game is gimped due to ROB's projectiles. Gyro prevents him from mortar sliding and laser blows up his grenades and stops the nikita. In general though, it depends on the skill level of both players.

I've seen videos of one of the best Snakes in America (DSF) get stopped by one of the best ROBs. Snake's projectile game was non-existent. And this guy (DSF) usually places in the top 3 in tournaments...and he's from California, land of the competition.

Thats also true. So no character is really the best. It depends on the level that the player is on with that character. The only character i have not seen mastered yet is lucario.

I think Toon Link has a fairly decent counter-advantage against Rob, and is the only character I've played so far that I usually do pretty good against Rob players (namely Marc). He has decent projectiles, is quick, and the shield is a nice bonus to boot.

My main is typically Olimar, but its not a good idea to play Olimar against a ranged player, because as soon as you lose all your Pikmin, you're screwed against a good player that uses projectiles.

I was gone camping (funny because that's what you guys talked about a lot), but now I'm back with full Wii access! If anyone wants to Brawl soon, send me a PM! I'd love to have the practice!

She's here in the Nintendo forums - on Brawl, she plays a mean ZSS and rather impressive Peach and MK. She and Rig won 2nd in the last teams tourney, and she's well-poised to take the championship for this upcoming season.

I'm online right now.

I only have 1-2 hours before I'm gone for most of the weekend, so post here if you wanna play. I've re-worked my Pikachu game and want to test it out on some lucky victim

I'll play a little Goo.

edit: sucks that lag showed up full force that second game, fun games anyways.

I'm on now. I need to practice since I haven't played in forever. I'd kinda prefer no smash balls because of the need to practice the basics again. I also changed my router channel so the lag should mostly be gone now.

Mad D, it was really difficult playing against your Olimar as Pikachu. Thunder jolts were useless so I needed to play aggressively but Olimar is a very defensive character.

Matchup-wise, both characters are pretty even. It all depended on who was going to slip up.

Thanks for the matches. I am so happy that they ran (pretty) smooth most of the time.

You guys are just too darn good with too many characters!

Yea Mad D, I'm X. Good games, although i can't really say i enjoyed having my rear handed to be ever friggin round. I guess that's what i get for taking such a long hiatus.
