Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Just got back from the tourney at Anime Evolution.

3rd out of 34, only noteable players were Brian Chan (Metaknight, also the winner of the Canadian National tournament) and Dante (Ike, best one I've EVER seen)

Ended up losing in the semi-finals to his MK, I was hoping to meet him in the finals. Ah well, at least I know where to improve.

Fairly safe, only used a smash move about 2-4 times per stock. Did a ton of aerials and standard AAA combos. He would do the neutral air and if it hit he would follow up with a short hop back air which by itself was a solid 20%+.
We had 5-stock matches. Both of us were down to our last stock 130%+ I just managed to score a solid finisher or else I'm sure he would've beaten me.

Hey, it's not my fault that there ain't no Power Glove for lefties.

Ugh, hate that some people wear the PG as a fashion accessory. If I end up going to Axis (a big west coast tournament), I might punch someone if I see a Power Glove there.

Nice job, maigo. Who were you using against Ike?

At least drop it into an editor and flip horizontally. Crop out the text and re-write it, since I know you'd say BUT THEN THE TEXT WOULD BE BACKWARDS.

We should all join the tourney together! Besides that Brawl tourney at the Gamestop launch (if you can even call it a tourney), I've never been to any other. BTW, GameJew was at my midnight launch recording some videos. I think I was the only one who recognized him that didn't work for GS.

We should do doubles b/c my R.O.B. is great at disrupting fights (lasers & gyros) and racking up damage (dsmash, up A, tilt A).

Sorry Marc, I really don't like ditto Olimar matches.

And sorry about the "No contest match". The lag was starting to get bad there. I'm done for the night. :(

GGs Blue. We played for like 3 hrs? I'm also done w/ Smash for today.

My MK was horrendous. I think my favorite matches were the Ike vs. Olimar matches. Those were some fine melee battles.
 
Good games Daisydog, Foo, and Suko. Lag was pretty bad, and I can't deal with it anymore. Tonight just wasn't my night...but it sure seemed to be Daisydog's. :)

Thanks, as good of games with the lag were had (worst part was dying right away for me lol). Good games (even with lag) to suko, lurk, spit, jman, and for the first time you znx (name seemed badass online :cool:).

We totally should enter the tournament. I already am making plans for it, since the Axis tournament this weekend is looking more and more like a lost cause. I'd love to get another chance to try out my new and improved chain-grabbing Falco.
