Spirit: Stallion of Cimmaron - 5/5

I just enjoyed this animated Dreamworks movie from beginning to end.  It's refreshing having a story told from the viewpoint of a horse, which happily doesn't actually speak with it's mouth.  You just hear his thoughts.  The main turn off might be Matt Damon voicing the inner thoughts of stallion.

Bigfish - 4/5

I always find myself underrating this Tim Burton film.  This might be my favorite Evan Mcgregor role.

Oh now I get it. Yes Man was good but I don't have time for movies that are only good.

Pacific Rim.  It sucked.  I mean, giant robots fighting giant dinosaur aliens was kind of cool but the acting was horrible, the plot made less than zero sense and the whole subplot with Ron Perlman and those two scientists was absolutely cringe-worthy.  Yuck.  1.5/5

The 3D was neat though - I love I can get it on demand now.

I didn't even like the fights. I talked with a friend about it. He hadn't seen it but he thought it would be okay. I've been a tokusatsu fan ever since I can remember and giant robots fighting giant creatures is awesome to me, but damn, way to insult creativity in general.

Terrible title but a real masterpiece of a film.Sam Peckinpah was really an under appreciated director.

Yeah - the concept was cool but the actual fights were lame as hell. Also, having them all take place in the ocean lessened the impact because no one could move that fast.
 
Stupid movie fact:

Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton are the only people to have been killed on-screen by a terminator, a xenomorph and a predator.
 
The Way, Way Back. 4.35 out of 5.

Liked it a lot. It had a bunch of heart. Sam Rockwell is amazing and I wish he were my dad.

Escape From L.A.

Not better than the first one. The basketball scene was just ridiculous, and it went downhill after that.  Also Steve Buscemi is in almost every 90's film lol I will give it an extra point only because of it's influence on Metal Gear Solid. 3/5

 
Rocky Balboa (2006)

4/5

Great conclusion to the series. The trailers made this movie looked very shitty, when in reality, its a great movie. I place it in the 3rd spot of best Rocky movies (behind Rocky 1 and Rocky IV).

This movie is so far out there but it's so good. I'm going to re watch it again for some of the things I missed in it. The ending even makes you rethink everything as well.
 
Monsters Inc.

Watched in the background while working at home as the new one is up next from Netflix. Still one of the better Pixar films IMO.

Godzilla

Sort of liked it. I hope the movie does well enough for a sequel. Didn't really care much for any of the main characters except Mr. Breaking Bad. I'd love to have more focus on Godzilla action in the next one. That airplane jump scene was great. Loved the colors in that.

 
Godzilla was alright. I'm not a fan of Godzilla and this felt just like the old movies so I guess that's good news if you like the old Godzilla stuff. Don't watch it in 3d. All the good stuff is filmed at night or in darkness so the 3d is wasted on people.
 
Man, Im so hyped for Godzilla. Would it be a good idea to watch Monsters first? I'm not really familiar with Gareth Edwards but heard great things.

@Clyde   I saw X- Men 1-3 in the movies and they were fun. I think this X-Men is probably the biggest one yet and will be the greatest one probably.

I haven't seen Godzilla, but I would just watch Monsters after. No point in waiting. I guess it would be interesting to compare his directorial choices when budget is such a huge difference.

 
Pacific RIm- 6/10   I saw it last night on HBO and it was kinda boring and dull. The effects were pretty good but too cheesy and bland for me to like.

Godzilla was good. 8/10 for me.

Gonna have to go back and watch monsters, didn't like it when it originally came out but my taste in movies has changed since.
 
Godzilla:

I really enjoyed it,but it I had few issues with it; how they would tease you with the monster fights and how they keep cutting away too showing the monsters on a TV which got annoying after a while.
 
How did you feel about the human parts of it? Ultraman, Godzilla, may turn people off because these things always have human investigations and actions as a central part of the story. Me? I guess I'm a little impatient, since I just want to see the fighting. But I can appreciate it, since it does remind me a lot about Star Trek and Quatermass and the like.

I watched Don Jon last night, and although I didn't like the porn parts too much, Levitt's monologues were so wordy that you could spend those parts not looking at the screen if you're not that into soooo much porn. It was an interesting movie, and it does tackle a theme that tv shows and movies refuse to tackle, love and companionship. Shows now are, but they still gotta titillate the audience with meaningless sex nonetheless.

Jon reminds me a lot like Jerry Seinfeld and how he's so Nazi about his pad. Anybody thought ScarJo's character was a bit odd, especially when she talks like a freak from Jersey Shore and yet her family is pretty white bread.

Didn't see the original so can't compare but it was good on it's own. Not much of a horror fan but I liked this. I don't think I have ever wanted a character to die as much, and was so glad when they did. 4/5

1st full viewing. Coincidentally, the movie takes place exactly 20 years ago this past week in May.

:wall: spoiler. So either you wanted the main character to die or the people that tormented her, and they did. Good to know before watching.

 
Godzilla was good but the human side of the story was weak, but the Mutos and Godzilla fights were really good. Cranston was good, Watanbe sucked though and Aaron Johnson was meh. Too much teasing but hyped for the sequel and cant wait for some Mothra on Godzilla aciton.  7.5/10

 
Monsters University--Pretty good. Not as good as the first, but still very enjoyable.

Star Trek Nemesis--just ok.

Meet Joe Black--hadn't seen it in years. Still one of my favorite romantic movies.
