Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2
Paul - A vulgarized E.T. with two healthy scoopfuls of nerd-baiting famous film quotes thrown in. I liked it, but definitely a matinee/cheap seats/wait-for-video flick.
NO way. Its a must see.
Simon Pegg & Nick Frost are amazing.
Shaun of the Dead is my favorite movie, Hot fuzz not that far behind

^Good to hear! Glad someone liked it. I'll see it one of these days...
Battle: Los Angeles - 2/10

And for the love of god, stop casting Michelle Rodriguez as the lone-wolf female soldier/pilot - STOP IT.

Felt like I was watching a Marine Corps advertisement.
lol

seriously.

lol
Hobo With A Shotgun

It. fucking. Rocked. HARD! A perfect example of how to do a modern day grindhouse flick.
Suckerpunch- Nice ladies, OK movie that had some really neat ideas. In a way the action was kind of a letdown.
Oh... :(

Oh... :( Way too high expectations... ?
i hate to admit it but that last harry potter flick was decent definelty not as bad as the 4 that came before it and im actually interested in seeing the other half of it. could have done without the whole harry/heromine sexual tension and the bit with the horcroux porn aside from that it was an ok flick.
Read the book before the next part comes out. The last book is the only one i read (but i made me go back and read the others). So much of it doesn't translate well to the big screen.

@ VipFreak

Basically the fight with the dragon (which was shown in previews so no spoilers) is very dull.

Possible spoiler for action scene

Then there is a FF13 like scene. Remember Lightning when she was taking out fools on the train in those early trailers? Well now it's live action.
Fish Tank (Indie) Netflix Streaming - It is hard to look away as we are taken through a tough 15 year old girl's life in lower class England. Her life sucks, her Mom gets a new boyfriend and she becomes smitten with him as well. The film goes down some serious Jerry Springer territory but for real. A little slow in places but the lead actress really sells the part and the cinematography is like another character as the train wreck unfolds. 8/10
Oh man. This movie was a very pleasant surprise. Didn't have any clue what to expect but it's a must see if you got Netflix.

Sorry for posting so much recently.
Source Code - Despite the trailer, the movie turned out to be pretty good. They managed to make it plausible enough to work. Everything was better than average though the score didn't stand out very much. Highly recommended if you like thrillers with a scifi twist.
The theater I went to gave this the applause treatment at the end. While I didn't think it was applause-worthy, I still thought it was a very good movie. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes time travel movies, or just sci-fi in general.

Black Swan - Amazing, but I'm sure most people already knew that.

Say Anything - Great in a sappy 80s way, John Cusack is the man. Surprised at how insignificant the most famous scene was, though.

Sucker Punch was a blast to watch, complete mindless fun at times and mind-bending at others. I'm not really feeling Hanna for some reason. I don't really have a reason, it just doesn't click for me I guess.
Synecdoche, New York - Wow, will need a second viewing but it was great.
I saw it once - crazy flick. I'm glad you reminded me about it. I'm adding it to my summer watching list right now!
I thought Tron Legacy was pretty fun. The story was good considering the source material, and I love the OG Tron.
I enjoyed Tron Legacy, but the ending left a sour taste in my mouth

I liked Tron Legacy as well.

Only thing I didn't like was
How they killed Tron off. He might as well not have been in the movie

Animal Kingdom - 3/5 - Pretty decent view into the family of crime. Didn't blow me away or anything. The lead kid was a bit annoying due to his blank expression throughout the entire movie. The grandma was nominated for an Oscar, which I didn't get. For about 90 minutes she says something along the lines of 'give grandma smurf a kiss'. I guess near the end she earned a nomination. Solid Australian film but it wont overly impress you.

MR73 - 4/5 - Awesome movie about a drunk cop who is investigating the murder of women. You follow along in his investigation and him falling fast from cop to washed up alcoholic. Also an old man who is now rehabilitated is being released from prison after committing crimes very similar to what is happening now. Movie has a lot of 'known' French actors in my opinion. The truck driver from Haute Tension Philippe Nahon, the woman in Ils Olivia Bonamy, her sister is played by the hot sidekick in OSS117 Rio Louise Monot. Some scenes are pretty graphic but worth checking out if you like foreign films or crime/dramas.

You think they killed him off? I think he's been reconstructed/rebooted. Notice how his lights went red, off and then white once he enter the water/energy?
I look forward to TR3N. :bouncy:

I Love You Phillip Morris

Much better than I was expecting. Plus, the fact that it's a true story really ups the funny.

Women In Trouble - 3/5 - Definitely a surprise. Elektra Luxx should be coming out on bluray sometime soon so I had to check out the first of the movies. Women in Trouble staring Carla Gugino and a ton of other hot women. Carla is a legendary porn star who finds out she is pregnant. Pretty decent comedy which I didn't except at all. To be honest I thought this was going to be a terrible movie like the later American Pie films. It actually had genuinely funny moments in it. Its not the best comedy out there but for attractive women and a solid comedy, its a worthwhile view. For those who plan on seeing it there is stinger at the end of the film which i found pretty funny.

The Other Guys - 3/5 - Will Ferrell was pretty funny, as usual. I don't really see the point of Mark Wahlberg being in a comedy. He isn't fun and just comes off as annoying half the time. Still a rather decent movie. Nom nom Eva Mendes.

We just rented Megamind for the kids. It's a kids movie, so I thought I'd have to pretend to be interested. I thought it was pretty awesome and I was pleasantly surprised.

The one we got before that, Despicable Me, was also pretty cool for a kids movie.

Before that I watched Hot Tub Time Machine. I was shocked at how much I liked it. It might have something to do with the fact that, since we have a toddler, I haven't gotten to watch much in the way of "adult" movies for the past couple of years.

Score:A Hockey Musical - loved it not a huge hockey fan but I an a fan of musicals and it was wonderfully canadian. Enjoyed the cameos as well. Was laughing through a good portion of it if I remember correctly.

The Mechanic - about what you'd expect, not a huge fan of the ending but the movie does have a nice sort of rule of two theme to it which I found amusing.

burlesque -story felt very disneyesque with a slightly more adult setting. Casting was nicely done I suppose.

Monrak Transistor (2001) aka Transistor Love Story - This movie really surprised me. Starting off, it's a Thai film from the early 2000s and the quality of the rip for both sound and video made me think I was watching a Hindi movie on VHS from late 80s early 90s. The comparisons to Hindi movies continue as it has random breaks into song early on(pretty much everything about the folk music and the land reminds me of Hindi movies). However, this really turns into a dark much less happy love story than shown early on. The movie also takes no problem with breaking the fourth wall which helps lighten the mood. This is quite a gem and I'd definitely recommend it for others.

Redline (anime) - Wow this was so over the top with just about every anime cliche possible, in a good way. Highly highly recommended!

Scream 4 - 3/5 - First 10minutes are the best of the film. No spoilers here, I hope you find it as entertaining as I did. Sadly Scream is a bit of a let down after coming from such an awesome opening. You are hit with a not too interesting story, characters which aren't very different from eachother and finally the self awareness of horror movies gets annoying fast. There are a lot of good things about Scream 4, first is bringing back some of original Scream cast w/ Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox. Its good to see them again beside ghostface. Overall the cast of Scream 4 is pretty top tier for a horror movie and having most of them get killed by Ghostface is really a winning forumla in my opinion. This movie is definitely more violent than the previous films. There is a ton of blood and a couple graphic kills which are huge pluses. Ghostface gets way more violent than before. Example would be the bedroom scene where kicks a girl into dressers, grabs her and slams her on the bed after a few stabs she gets thrown threw a window. I don't recall him being so physical in the previous movies. Scream 4 not having any cg blood is a total winner! Thank you! Scream 4 isn't going to revive the horror movie genre like the first Scream did. Without a doubt the weakest point of this film is the story in most part due to the ending. If you need a decent slasher movie this Scream film is pretty entertaining but will definitely not make ure top horror movie list.
