Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

Saw IV.

IMO worse than 3, but better than 1 & 2. Then again, I thought Saw II was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. If I ranked the Saw movies I'd do 3,4,1.................................................2.

The theme of always having a twist near the end is getting old though.

Last three:

Transformers - nice CGI but why do we need another blockbuster action film with a freakin love story attached?

2001: A Spacey Odyssey - no comment needed.

The Fog (the remake with Tom "Smallville" Welling) - had its moments but pretty forgetable.
30 Days of Night - was pretty good until the rather bad ending sequence.
Agreed if the end wasn't so weak it would have been so much better.

not suprisingly but, the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford.
pretty much amazing in every way. i imagine this will be nominated for most every applicable academy award.

300 on HD-DVD

Got off to a bad start as the fecking thing wouldn't load, I had to delete the cookie in the end and that seemed to fix it, gotta love the HD generation

Movie was pretty good though, better than I was expecting.

I gotta add both Surf's Up and Disturbia.. I thought both would suck, but i really enjoyed both.... Especically Surfs Up, i really really liked it, might buy it on BRD
Reign Over Me - 5.5/10
Agreed, just watched it last night. The movie was "ok" at best.

You said it yourself, movies that didn't suck.
Stranger then Fiction ( Really Liked this one )
One of my faves from the last couple of years, and completely undeappreciated, it seems. See Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind if you haven't already...it's very much in the same vein as Stranger Than Fiction.

I liked eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. It was kind of sad though, but then again so was Schindler's List and that was a great movie.

Anyway I just saw 28 weeks later adn that was a pretty good movie. Once Upon a Time in the West was also great.

Ditto on Eternal Sunshine. One of the few movies I've gone back and watched again and again.

Backlogged on my movie watching by years, so I finally saw Chicago and Eyes Wide Shut.
Lust, Caution

Let's just say it earned its NC-17 rating, and there is truth in the title.
I didn't like that movie at all. Also, that movie could have been easily edited down to R.

Watched Spiderman 3 last night. Much better than what I thought it would be.

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band...Seriously i liked it, weird as fuck and The Bee Gees and guest star singers and actors all over the place, Was watching it for a "Rock and Roll History class" for college...(Awesome class)

Brazil and Driving Miss Daisy , didn't actually get to finish the movies because of class time but I can tell they're both great. Esp. Brazil
Nightmare Before Christmas 3D

Great stuff, animation looks incredible
Does the 3D look good or is it just a cheap gimmick? I'm considering seeing it.

It's incredible, trust me. See it while you have the chance. Beowulf will also be released in 3D, so check that out as well.

Anyways, saw 3:10 to Yuma last week. fucking fantastic.

Gonna see Harry Potter in Imax this week, and after that, out Imax finally gets Transformers! Sweet!

 I had no such problems with the Blu-Ray. ;)

I watched Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray last night. I really enjoyed it, with two exceptions:
1) "emo kid" Peter Parker, with his dark eyeshadow and Peppermint Patty hairdo
2) Too much crying for an action flick, though I won't argue that it was unneeded with regards to the plot.

Topher whats-his-name did a surprisingly good job as Venom, IMO.

I watched a lil' bit of Dementia 13 on my iPod at the gym today. Enjoying it so far. Hooray for archive.org!

please don't bring the format war into this thread

Planet Terror

life will suck knowing I'll never see anything that awesome ever again.

up next:

Blade Runner Final Cut HD-DVD rip. It's not piracy if you bought the cancer-inducing DVD version on launch and nearly blinded yourself from watching it too many times since then.
