Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

The Condemned - wasn't expecting too much and was pleasantly surprised. It's nothing earth shattering, but as far as mindless action films go it's pretty decent.

I just saw Vacancy with Luke Wilson and kate Beckinsale. It was pretty good. There were some scarry parts, so it was not bad.

Yeah Citizen Kane was a pretty forward thinking film for the time it was made. It was said to be modeled off of William Randolf Herst. Rosebud, good stuff.

Ikiru 9.5/10 - my first Akira Kurosawa film(I saw the beginning of Ran but haven't see the whole movie), the scene with the swing is one of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen.

Seeing No Country for Old Men on Sunday and hopefully Beowulf in Imax next Thursday.

The Insider

surprisingly, it did kinda suck. okay, the story was great, the acting was great, but they tried to push the dramatic effect too far and it came off as cheesy at times.

Bee Movie. 8/10

It was actually pretty awesome though. If you like Seinfeld definately check it out. The only thing I have to say was the last 20 minutes or so was dissapointing.

Transformers - I noticed the Transformers stood out a lot more against their backgrounds on the DVD release than in the theater. I'll be taking a look at my HD-DVD version soon for comparison's sake.

The exorcism of Emily rose: not bad, 8/10. I like how the story was told through a criminal negligence trial.

I also thought she was really really sexy when she was all contorted adn possessed. Mmmm....can't wait to get me some of that possessed stank on my hang down.

"No Country for Old Men" was great. I don't want to say anything to spoil it, but suffice to say, the Coens are back in a big way. This makes a great companion piece to Fargo and will go places you don't expect.

Also saw a sneak of "Juno" last week, Jason Reitman's follow-up to "Thank You For Smoking." Really cute and honest ensemble dramedy. Actors all acquit themselves well. Great music too.

Renaissance.

The Cinematography was excellent, the black and white rotoscoping added alot of style and the way the scenes were great. The Plot however was very grandoise and confusing, but you didn't seem to learn anything about the plot until the last 30 minutes of the movie and by then you are very confused. This is a movie you definately need to watch multiple times.
Also the charecters felt very flat, I never got any attachment to them, which made it hard to care when their life was on the line.

Renaissance. 7/10.

Overall a good movie, with pacing and charecter issues.

The Zodiac - the new one with Jake Gyllenhall

The whole design and pacing was great, A bit too long. But the cinematography and the way the story comes together was very well done, ive never been so involved with a movie like this.

Also

The Departed 9/10 (Pronounced Tha Dah-Pa-Ted)
Great movie, although it loses point with some unfilled storyline, some bad editing when it comes to scenes and the sudden image of jack nicholsons old wrinkly cock.

Beowulf 8/10.

A great action movie, very over the top though. The animation was kinda shaky, sometimes it looked great and other times it looked pretty fake. I can't believe that it got a PG-13 rating after some scenes when people are bathing in blood and you pretty much see all there is too see of Angelina Jolie.

EDIT: Hey William H. Macy, how did you see Juno?

saw Beowulf last night with my fiancee and her son, I liked the 3d effects and how the story was laid out.

8.5/10

Advanced screenings, they have them available for every city in the U.S. on the Juno website

Hey I am William H. Macy! My dad got approached by a studio who offered him 100 bucks a week to use his driveway to park some vehicles in it while they shoot a movie starring William H. Macy down the block!

Seriously I shit you not. It is going on in a neighborhood called Lighhouse Point, FLorida. (S. of Boca Raton, N. of Ft. Lauderdale).

This thread is funny to me. ISn't it supposed to be about the movie that you were surprised that it didn't suck?

Why is the Departed listed here?

I think it's just what was the last movie you saw as all the other previous threads. Just titled differently to be special

Yes, I am on the set, filming right now! I appreciate that and will make an attempt to insert your username into the script dialogue, as a tribute to you.

Keep on truckin'!

Oh yeah? Well if you really are William H. Macy then you will have no problem naming the street on which the set is on. Would you? Prove it by getting the street name correct.

Yes, I just did, I inserted your username, the website name, and the street name into the film dialogue, hope it does not get deleted from the final film

The Mist 09/10

Left the theater with a huge grin on my face, 2 hours and I wasn't bored one bit, any movie with giants spiders gets my vote

Beyond awesome is what.

Hitman - 7/10 solid and entertaining. Great mindless action/fun
No Country For Old Men - Kicks ass. Chugre or however you pronounce/spell his name is one o fthe best villians I have seen in a movie in awhile. Portrayed to perfection
The Mist - 5-6/10 Eh..sucked. Could've been a lot better, but the combination of being too long, dragging itself, the previews spoiling the entire movie, etc. just brought it down
