Surprisingly the Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck

IGN's Speed Racer review piqued my curiosity, so went to see it tonight w/ the gf. Absolutely freakin' loved it. It's bright, and hyper, and fun while still being filled with interesting characters and a very good overall story. A very pleasant surprise, and a definite buy for me once it hits blu-ray.

Atonement: Great movie. Keira Knightley was good in this, much better than that Pride & Prejudice people gave her so much praise for. The end was a punch in the stomach though.

National Treasure 2: Loved it. I hope a third one is in the works because this is clearly the better of the blockbuster franchises from Disney. Pirates crumbled by the third movie while this managed to live up to the original and set the tone for a good sequel. One of the only movie franchises where the annoying comic relief character is actually likeable.

I just saw it today and I loved it as well. I'll definitely be seeing it one more time in theaters and buying the blu-ray later on.
Sneakers (fun)
A Bucket Of Blood (awesome)
Boot Hill (terrible)
The Wizard of Gore (awesome)
Aw, man, Sneakers was so kickass. Like a funny variant of Mission Impossible. Can't go wrong with Robert Redford.

Watched Buckaroo Bonzai last night and it was freakin' awesome.

Peter Weller (aka robocop)
John Lithgow
Jeff Goldblum
Christopher Lloyd
Vincent Schiavelli

You can't go wrong.

The ending credit sequence is amazing.
I believe Life Aquatic copied it or something as a tribute.

Be Kind Rewind - the parts where they recreate movie scenes were pretty funny but it kind of takes a weird turn in the last half where it pretends to be serious.

Be Kind Rewind - Loved it. Some story elements were sketchy near the end, but it was really funny.

Primer - Very confusing second half, but still awesome.

Being John Malkavitch - Great movie. Explores an aspect of human nature I always wondered about.

I love the whole Trinity saga. I thought you would have been one to like it Sneaky. Then again, I bought them all for $1 from the .99$ store with actual plastic boxes to them. :lol:I haven't seen Sneaker, but I'm interested now. Also, what is The Wizard of Gore?
Conan: The Barbarian (with director and actor commentary)

That movie is fucking hysterical with the commentary on.
Is this on the Conan set?

Thanks for reminding me to see this one.

Oh, and also, I guess I forget to say in my last post but, Stalker.....I still haven't gotten used to watching Tarkovsky work. He's definitely a maestro of cinema, but it's different, and difficult at times, to watch with his characteristic long, arduous shots. You can tell he was very methodical and meticulous in his craft, and must have been able to see far into the shot and what he wanted. Very different movie. I'm definitely going to have to watch this one again in a few months to see my reaction to it at that point. Now I'm also interested in playing STALKER the game.

need help finding a movie, figured this would be best place to post it in. Its a comedy about a guy who turns into another guy, and he is running from the law with his two freinds- one a woman and another a guy with white hair whom they call 'whitey'

HALP!

Carlito's Way - good movie, a film noir centered around a former gangster trying to stay out of the biz after being released from prison. The music mixing and scoring seemed annoying and bizarre respectively but at the end the score at least picked up for some mission impossible vibes. Great acting acting and support, Sean Penn is unrecognizable and Viggo Mortensen is a nice surprise. Excellent cinematography

Me, Myself & Irene??

Campfire - Very much enjoyed it, but the ending is such a cop out. No retribution for the audience. The director is setting the audience up for such an anticlimatic ending that it's painful in the end. Still, for the most part it was a high 6, probably even 7.
The Incredible Hulk

Weak all around. You could easily create the script of this movie by cutting dialog from most other action films.
Agreed. It was certainly better than the first one, but still nothing special. I was actually pretty uninterested in the entire final battle.

As there are no tv shows on that I am currrently watching, combined with the $3 dvd madness at big lots and hd-dvd sales, Ive watched quite a few

Closer
Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius
Anchorman (gets funnier every time I see it)
Thumbsucker
The Jerk
The Sting

I saw Don't Mess with the Zohan and What Happens in Vegas at the drive-in.

My friend's wife liked Vegas a lot, and described it as "a comedy you that doesn't make you laugh a lot." Needless to say, it sucked.

The sad part is Zohan wasn't any better.

I just saw Ocean's Eleven for the first time on TV this morning. It was entertaining I guess - nothing special.

30 Days of Night, which, while not amazing, was certainly better than I expected.

Undead - Australian zombie film which was a lot better than I remember when I saw it the first time 5 or 6 years ago.

Cloverfield - sucked.

10 items or less with Morgan Freeman and The Hammer with Adam Carola.

I absolutely love both of these movies. Freeman was drop dead hilarious in this little indy movie. I love Adam anyway so his movie was just icing on the cake.

I actually liked Zohan, a lot. Then again, I got a lot of the inside jokes (and let me tell you that there are tons) in this movie.
