Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

Just got back from the Saugus, MA Target.

It looks as if they phased out the clearance aisle, as all of the clearance games (what little there are left) have been relegated to a sole endcap.

Managed to find the last Feel the Magic (DS) for $10 though.

Wow, you actually had an aisle for clearnace games?? All the targets here have all the clearance games on the endcap.

Well I checked the Target in Oaks, PA and they had Ridge Racer as well as World Soccer Tour. Picked up 1 of Ridge Racer and left World Soccer. They had about 4 of Ridge and 5 of Soccer Left.

The Target in Plymouth Meeting, PA had one copy of World Soccer Tour left, which I decided I now wanted and picked up, so there is nothing left at Plymouth Meeting Target.

I was really hoping to find Lumines and Mercury at one of these places. Oh well.

Saw a few different games clearanced at Target today that I have not noticed before:

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (NGC) $13.98
Blinx 2: Master of Time & Space (Xbox) $13.98
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Xbox) $13.98
Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds (Xbox) $6.98
Intellivision Lives! (PS2) $6.98
The Punisher (PS2) $13.98
Donkey Konga 2 w/o Bongos (NGC) $17.98
Sega Presents OutRun 2 (Xbox) $9.98

Ridge Racer (PSP) was still dangling at $27.98 for some reason! Drop, damn you, drop!

Not going to bother reading this whole thread, so sorry if this info is old.
Saw these today.
Feel the Magic DS - $9.98
Dead to Rights PSP -$19.98
NBA PSP - $14.98
Hockey PSP - $14.98
Blinx 2 XB - $9.98

and a bunch of other stuff that's been clearanced for a while. The ones I listed were all on an endcap in the music section, close to the PC games rather than with all the others close to the electronics dept. This was the Alderwood Mall location in Lynnwood, WA.
i want Darkstalkers when it goes down a bit more
Don't wait too long for Darkstalkers; I don't think it will last much longer past $14.98. I bought one in Tampa and only saw one left at another Target. It's not that easy to find, so best take it for whatever you can find it for.
Lemme elaborate:

Me with the scanner -- Jungle Beat "$54.99". Donkey Konga "Item not found".

Excuse me, could you scan Donkey Konga for me, the price check scanner claims "Item not found." The clerk says yea and we head over to the case.

Clerk with scanning gun: Scan once, look in disbelief, flip box around, scan again, look in disbelief, "Uh. It's 49.99."
I don't believe him either. It sounds to me like the clerk saw an
opportunity.

There have been a couple of times I've taken items that wouldn't
scan up to the registers at the front. One time it was a computer
game. I checked with the clerk in Electronics, and he knew the
game was on clearance for 9.98 (rats, I was hoping for 4.98)
so he wrote his name and the price on a slip of paper that I
brought up to the front.

The other time, I found a Zoid that scanned at 0.00 and had no
clearance sticker. I brought it to a clerk with a scanning gun
and she said $7.98, and to tell that to the person at the register.
Me: "She said it was $7.98." Cashier: "Oh, okay." I could
have made up any price I wanted.

Me too...$9.98:D

Target's clearance rack in the electronics dept. is quickly becoming my favorite place to find surprises.

Dam, was just at my Target and Tiger Woods and NBA were still clearanced at $14.XX

Might go check tomorrow and see if the prices ring up different on the scanners. Thanks Spam.

Seaside CA.
I saw "Feel the Magic" for DS at about 10.00 bucks. They had three left. So I hid them behind some walkie talkie thing that was also on clearence. They also had NBA live 05 for like 20.00.

I also saw Lumines there but It was behind the glass so I didnt bother to get it ringed up.

at our Target, clearance in any department is marked down every two weeks. Except for special areas (Halloween, some seasonal stuff) Im not sure if every store marks down clearance on the same day. Electronics happens on Monday in our store.

Nabbed Lumines for 20. Got another copy for my TL. There is a third at Target.

Would love to score Half Life Platinum and Darkstalkers.

Rock Hill, SC

Grabbed the last copies of Darkstalkers and Mercury for the PSP at $7.48 a piece.

Other noteworthy games on clearance:
Soccer (PSP) - $10
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - $15
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga - $15
Blinx 2 - $13
The Punisher (PS2) - $13
F-Zero (GBA) - $12

Every target I been to has tons of Sprung and Feel the Magic, but I can't find a zoo keeper anywhere. PM me if you can get a copy for me...

Damn... WHy do you guys get 50% addtional off? All those games are exactly twice that at all the Targets I've been to recently (in Oregon, Virginia, and Maryland). Just checked tonight (Tues) in a MD Target.

Those are excellent prices for Ridge Racer, FF Tactics, and Mario Golf GBA...

I did see Final Fantasy X clearanced for $13.98 at the Rockville Target. Not a great price for that game, but interesting nonetheless. They also had Magic Gathering Xbox for $6.98, in addition to the usual smattering of lame PSP titles for $14.98 - $19.98 and Sprung/Feel The Magic.

Now I REALLY have to make a move on Ridge Racer, going to check out my local Target tomorrow for this deal.

I too would like to know the secret of 50%...Anyway, Exton, PA checking in:

PSP
Darkstalkers 14.98 - One left
NBA 14.98 - Two left
MLS 14.98 - One left

XBOX
Blinx2 14.98 - One Left
World Championship Poker 6.98 - One left

Game Cube
Winnie the Pooh - 13.98 One left (A steal if you ask my 18 month old:bouncy: )

PS2
Robotech Battlecry 6.98 - three left
I picked up Darkstalkers and Star Wars Figure 59 Commander Gree...I'm all caught up!

The 'extra' 50% off simply depends on thae particular Target's clearance schedule. There are three Targets I check regularly, and they all have different schedules.

Tonight I found that Lumines was still $19.98, but Darkstalkers was down to $7.48. Go figure.

I hit 3 TX Super Targets yesterday (Pearland, Sugarland, and Missouri City) and all the clearance PSP games still had the $14.98 - $20.98 prices when I scanned them. $7-$10 dollars definitely would have been low enough for me to bite on a few of those sports titles.....oh well, maybe next time!

PSP Tiger Woods - $7.48
PSP Ridge Racer - $9.99
GBA FF Tactics - $7.48
GBA Mario Tour - $7.48
GBA FZERO - $7.48

This is definately by luck. I checked another Target and they are 14.xx and 19.xx. I am waiting for Lumines / Darkstalkers to drop to 9.xx/7.xx . Hope its still there next week. *fingers crossed*

My local Strongsville Target had several Darkstalkers for $13.XX for PSP. Not much else that stood out. Soul Caliber II for $9.xx and TMNT for $13.XX for Xbox.

At my local Target I saw:

Feel the Magic XY/XX-$9.98 a lot left
Blink 2-$13.98 a lot left
World Tour Soccer (PSP)-$19.98 5 left
Half Life Platinum Set for $9.98 4 left

and a messed up, really bad condition of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for $3.74 that I passed on for some reason. :dunce:
Today I picked up the last copy of Half-Life Platinum Collection for $10.

how much was it... im going over there tomorrow so i post if they got anything left

The copies of darkstalkers were $14.98. They were on an endcap over by where the mp3 and cd players were. There were also a few games in a clearance section by the pets section.

The Maplecrest Target had a bunch of ps2 and xbox games last time I checked. I don't know if they are still there. It's been a little while since I was there last.

yeah, saw the same type of games, eg., GBA Mario Tour and FZero for 14xx today..
No more Ridge Racer for PSP at Target in San Diego (Mira Mesa).

It scanned to $19.98 but the game where no where to be found.
The Target down in Balboa and Mission Valley had nothing, although the one in Mission Valley did have quite a lot of copies of HL2 (regular, not GotY) and one copy of Gretzgy (sp) last time I checked on Tuesday

This is rather odd. I scanned clearance game prices at Target (Apex, NC) on Monday, and then again today and there was a drop.

........................11/14 price ....................11/19 price
Sprung............... $9.98 .............................$4.98
Feel the Magic.....$9.98............................. $4.98

I was really suprised by this, this store always has the drops on Monday.

Found a Darkstalkers for $7.49 on Monday and forgot to post.

To any target employees: Could there have been 2 drops in one week?

Two Targets I went to had HUGE stacks of "Donkey Konga 2" (no bongos) for $8.XX and "F-Zero: GP Legend" for $7.48. I'm wondering since they have so many (20+ copies) if they'll last to ridiculously cheap levels or if all the bargain shoppers on Black Friday will swipe them all up.

Speaking of which, a lot of you might want to snag any red tagged games before Thursday, since stores will be packed on Friday and likely buying up all the RT games.

Another intersting note, Target had Greatest Hits versions of "Ace Combet 5" and "Resident Evil Outbreak" and Platinum Hits versions of Riddick and Paintball for Xbox. Didn't know about the new GH and PH titles.

Games usually don't go below 75% off so if you want either of those games I would get them now.

Not related but I was at Target yesterday and I was scanning games on an endcap and putting the games back. A woman asks me if I could tell what prices the games were since they weren't tagged (she just saw me putting the games back). I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a jacket and she thought I was an employee.

I picked up Rengoku for $7.98 and World Soccer for $9.98 tonight at the Everett, WA location.
They also had Lumines(was behind some others, couldn't see price) and Hockey for $9.98, but I have Lumines and Hockey doesn't interest me.
The games were still in the PSP case, and they had various forgettable titles in the console sections as well. I almost missed them.
I'd be willing to trade either for Mercury, if you want to do that let me know by Sunday 11/20 because I want to try them out :)

2 weeks ago I got Tiger Woods, it was 14.98 on monday went back on Friday Night and it was 7.48.. I guess they are doing 2 a week right now

A two week is not unusual, this happened sometime within the last 5 days, I went around 6 pm on Monday, so the prices were already updated. Can an individual Target do a price change, like Wal-mart does?

The Target near me still pulls the clearance games when they get above 50% off so they're all gone now, every single one! I guess it's time to hit up Goodwill.
