Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*
The Target near me still pulls the clearance games when they get above 50% off so they're all gone now, every single one! I guess it's time to hit up Goodwill.
I sometimes hide items just incase that happens.
This is rather odd. I scanned clearance game prices at Target (Apex, NC) on Monday, and then again today and there was a drop.

........................11/14 price ....................11/19 price
Sprung............... $9.98 .............................$4.98
Feel the Magic.....$9.98............................. $4.98

I was really suprised by this, this store always has the drops on Monday.

Found a Darkstalkers for $7.49 on Monday and forgot to post.

To any target employees: Could there have been 2 drops in one week?
Yeah I saw that today too. Too bad I already have Feel the Magic.

I don't want Sprung, i heard that one was butt.
PSP Tiger Woods - $7.48
PSP Ridge Racer - $9.99
GBA FF Tactics - $7.48
GBA Mario Tour - $7.48
GBA FZERO - $7.48

This is definately by luck. I checked another Target and they are 14.xx and 19.xx. I am waiting for Lumines / Darkstalkers to drop to 9.xx/7.xx . Hope its still there next week. *fingers crossed*
My target had Lumines for 9.99 and Darkstalkers for 7.49 might want to check back.

One of the Targets I go to has them on an endcap in the music section, and one kept them in their cases. Might be for loss prevention, I dunno. Seems like the games are cheap enough to put them out. I guess it just depends on your target, but if you don't see them by the games, check out the music section.

Well I just went to the Target in Jackson, MI and I can verify the PSP and DS games and F-Zero for GBA. I was hoping to get the FF Tactics and Mario & Luigi, but they didn't have them.

Now thats super low for Lumines:D Which city was this in? My local store still has it for the low price of $27.98.

Mine was in Jackson, MI

Congrats to anyone getting a PSP game for under $10. Lumines sold out at $20.98 around here and Ridge Racer at $27.98. After this weekend I doubt they even have a NBA or Gretzky left for $15.98 around ATL...

Mine had the usual suspects (PSP sports, Lumines for 20, Sprung for 10, FeroGP for 15, etc) and then Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat for 20. I snagged a copy. There is one left.

This is in College Station, TX.

Saw that almost every game in the store dropped this week EXCEPT the PSP games for some reason. "Ridge Racer" PSP has not budged from $27.98 for weeks now!

That huge stack of "Feel The Magic" and "Sprung" dropped to $4.98, so I imagine they'll all be gone very soon. Now I almost feel bad I spent $10 each on them at TRU and K-Mart a few months ago.

Wow, the one I stop at still has a stack of Sprung and a few FTM's that are still $9.98. There's now way they're going to sell all those copies of Sprung at that price. It's been that price for 2-3 weeks and the stack isn't getting any smaller.

freakin gay, my target near my house is too rich or some crap.

sprung= 15
super monkey ball no tags= 15

everything stupid was 15. i'm like wow.

time to check another target.
My target had Lumines for 9.99 and Darkstalkers for 7.49 might want to check back.
Wow that's a great price on Lumines. I don't even own a PSP (or plan on owning one for a long time) but I would pick up Lumines if I found it for $9.99

Somebody check to see if GoW is really a $30 at Target as part of their temporary pricedrops. I want to know if it's all Targets or YMMV

I went to our Target in Stevens Point, WI, looking for two games. God of War wasn't even there, and Pokemon Emerald was sold out. But the trip turned out to be worth it, since I found Gunstar Super Heroes for $20. :D

At my local target I found World Tour Soccer and Darkstalkers for PSP. I'm looking for Ridge Racer or Spiderman2 (From KB clearance). If anyone is interested in a swap, PM me.

Thanks,
Scott

2 copies of Lumines for $19.88 at the Target in Kearny Mesa (San Diego, CA). Also a lot of copies of Gretzghi for $14.88 for anybody thats interested in the San Diego area.

Looks like the local Target's red tagged games were all picked clean on Black Friday. That stack of 20+ Donkey Konga 2's were all gone! Even the crappy higher priced RTed games were gone, probably from parents who saw it was marked down and figured it was a good deal.

I did find a Super Mario World 2 GBA SP bundle for $68 though! YES!!! People killed themselves to get these Friday morning (You should have seen how pissed people got at a lady holding 5 of them), and I stroll in on a Saturday afternoon and there's a case full of them! I'm sure they sold out within a couple of hours as the employee there was shocked when he went to the case to get it out and saw how many there were.
'sup?
Roflmao.

I don't know why I'm laughing this hard but dammit that was funny....

That's what I was afraid of happening. Probably no good deals until January with holiday shoppers buying anything on clearance if it looks like a good deal before the games can drop to 75% off.

Nah, he lies... still come clearance games here and there, like Sprung

Most of the good clearance games were gone before BF.

You got me! *lol* This was the Target on Dale Mabry I was at that was pretty much wiped out. Not even a Sprung to be found there! I have noticed that games (and GBA bundle systems!) can pop up at any time, so there's always some luck involved.

The Toys'R'Us right next to it did not mark the green tag stuff as $9.99, so they still had quite a few games left (mostly crap though), although somebody else knew to snag all the GBA games as they're all gone now.

I did see a couple copies of Killer 7 (GC) on the endcap with all the GH/PH/PC titles yesterday. No tag, but if I see it at my Target today when I exchange my DS (cause the touch screen is flaky, argh), I'll scan it and see if it rings up at a discount.

yay, all the clearance games finally dropped to 75% off at my local targets. probably going back to pick up jungle beat for $10 and feel the magic and final fantasy x for $5 each. too bad the copies of lumines and dynasty warriors they had are gone now.

Yep all the GT GBA games are gone from my local TRU too, but they had a stack of sports, budget and FF:CC games still left.

But as of today my Target still has a stack of Mario Golf ($15 still) and THUG GC ($5)still left. So not all clearance stuff is gone.

Scoped out another Target in the area, found lots of Feel the Magic, Sprung, and Zookeeper for $5. Picked up lots of Xmas gifts, needless to say.

The Target in Victoria, TX has absolutely nothing, if anyone is interested (not the same as the one above).

the Target near me didn't have anything on a crazy clearance (they never really do), but I did see,

Metal Gear Acid (PSP)- $29.97
Frantix (PSP)- $29.99
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (GBA)- $19.99

I know Kingdom Hearts is cheap because it's getting finally another price drop this week, but it was nice to pick up a copy (which I did), for that price. Not sure about those PSP game prices though. No Lumines, No Ridge Racer, No Half-Life 2 at mine.

I don't understand the Sprung-bashing! I picked it up last Wednesday for $4.97, and sunk a good three hours into it that night. For the price, I'm completely satisfied (but then again, I'm oddly fascinated with dating sims...). I think it's an underrated title.

I was able to land 2 Gretzkys, 1 Tiger Woods and 1 World Tour Soccer, all for PSP, for $7.xx each. I would love to trade any one of those for Darkstalkers if anyone is interested. ^_~

I got Lumines for $9.98, Sprung and Feel the Magic were $4.98. I took them over to Wal Mart, returned them and bought Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, Beavis & Butthead Volume 1, and some groceries...Oh yeah they gave me $2 back.

Congrats on the fraud!:bomb:

By the way, that kind of thing is really frowned upon here.
